She had realized that getting Vaan and Tidus separated would be difficult, so she could simply change Vaan to SCP as well and problems would be solved.

The water started dragging them down as the mermaid swam closer to them, a playful smirk now on her face. Now that she had come over, it was clear she was messing with them. She didn't speak to them, only pulling at their ankles with small whirlpools.

Emerie watched, entertained but her face displayed nothing. She had no emotion in her expression, but this entertained her. It was cruel humor, really.

"Well, with your injuries," Alice indicated Tidus's injuries, "the only safe option was to keep you here until you were fully healed. As for the rest of you, we only intend to keep you safe. I can understand if you do not trust my word, as you have no reason to."

Her voice was calm, and her mannerisms displayed nothing.

The young girl watched the two interact, not wanting to engage but also wanting to at the same time. She let a wave wash over Bartz's feet, the only sign she was really acknowledging him. She was bored, yes, but her solitude had been peaceful. Her solitude had meant no strange males bothering her and the lagoon to herself. After a mew moments, she tossed a little blob of water at Vaan, missing by a long shot and it hit Bartz instead.

Ivan sighed, but he heard Alice speaking softly with the guard. He had to speed this up, but that would be difficult.

"You have no reason to trust me. I just ask that you give me a chance," his voice shook a bit, as he was slightly intimidated by Alice's appearance.

"Merriam. Go do your duties. This is taking too long, and unfortunately, we have deadlines. Both of you, guards," Alice spoke up, dismissing both guards with a gentle yet harsh word.

Both guards immediately obeyed her, leaving without hesitation. The scientist was now alone with the two merfolk, and completely defenseless. If either of them decided to attack her, she could easily be taken down. But she hoped that wouldn't happen.

"Now. I understand you don't trust us, or know who we are. So why don't we sit down and discuss. I'll answer all your questions with full honesty. I have no reason to lie," She told them, going over to a desk and turning the chair so she could sit and speak with them without having to stand.

Emerie rolled her eyes, figuring that the boys wouldn't be engaging with her any time soon, and retreated back to the water. She changed to her mer form pretty quickly- the water had gotten up to her waist, and vanished under the surface. She reappeared moments later, on a rock that was near the middle of the water.
