@DracoLunaris No worries, I've been thinking into dwelving into map making so I could help you, but at the moment ...this is a good reference of how little map making experience I have.

Impression

The first things people notice about Giovanni, are his pointed ears, sickly pale skin and abject hairiness in the colour of semi-burnt wood, all in a sturdy looking, slightly tall upright frame. His tattered clothing make him look even shadier. And while his almost constant scowl of furry brows and orange eyes, generally everything, suggest that he is of the rowdy kind, other details seem to contradict the idea.

His voice remains clear and his speech, articulate, despite an actively suppressed growl. While his facial expressions still convey his intentions like any civillized being. This notion of civility being supported more by his insistence of wearing proper belted trousers, shoes, a single palladium ring and carrying on his belt that little red velvet book of his wherever he goes.

But most of all, he looks like a contradiction. Like someone who doesn't quite belong in his own skin. Like someone who is constantly disturbed by more instinctual impulses yet holds himself back, so the only sign of them are the occasional fidget and glance. Hiding them behind a mask of pretence and educated responses like any sane person would.

...Perhaps he is also unaware that this isn't normal.

-Not very sure, thinks it's twenty to thirty years? Really, preferably, twenty. ... Must be twenty. No, nineteen! ...yeah. *starts wondering if anyone would believe seventeen*

Origin:
Flashes of a tattered homestead, roiling smoke and the churn of grinding metal. Giovanni cusps his forehead with one hand and irritatedly scratches his oddly furry neck with the other. Ever since he was "woken up", some of his memories became like ghosts in the mists - incomprehensive and fleeting, but always teasingly just out of reach. He vaguely remembers that life was not very fulfiling, that the world seemed a sickening place, that he wanted it all to end. But why?

Rolling over his aching body, he pushed himself up with one arm and felt a sticky red dust smear his fingers. Blood!? He traced it to his own clothing, his shirt ripped by a set of gashing holes that ran across his chest. Alarmed, he quickly touched the wound, only to find a thick scar had long closed over it. ...How?

Many questions roamed his mind now, while he himself roamed towards the seats as the jittery buzz of adrenaline fades slowly into a pleasurable hum .......

Life:
...soon he found himself looking at his upturned, calloused hands, starting to imagine the work he did. Or what words came when he conceptualized the word "work". The clammy texture of rubber, cold metal wires, and the buzzing sting of electricity. Yes, these phantom sensations felt farmiliar, almost ...real. He felt a brief smidgeon of relief. Musing on them even further- blueprints and various protocols came to mind, from the simple ballista to the towering mage spires that dot the capital of an unknown land. Perhaps he had a stint as a mechanic of sorts ...

Gio, for short, then spends the rest of the evening staring at empty space, taking in the many scents of the night, all in quiet contemplation of what might well be his past.

Well, at least he remembers his name.

Talents:

- Engineering -Gio possesses a mechanically inclined mindset, making it easy for him to build, modify and repair devices. While hardly a genius by any standard, his wide breath of techniques from boundless inquisitiveness lends him a bit of an edge when it comes to engineering.
- Abjuration -Some are born talented, others have studied years for their first time. Gio is somewhere in between when it comes to magical sciences. Neither savant or incapable. His altrusic nature has gravitated him towards understanding the mysteries of barriers, wards and other protective arts. Though retaining only a modicum of what he used to know, it seems he requires more study to regain any measure of fluency.
- Sharp Senses -Ever since waking up, Gio has experienced an unnaturally acute sense of smell and hearing. But sees things in a slightly monochrome hue. Could it be a side effect of the stasis they were in?
- Manual Strength and Dexterity -He is quick and nimble with his hands as required by his supposed profession, and years of lugging around heavy things have led him to overcome a good measure of physical fraility. So he thinks.

Flaws:
- Severe Thalassophobia -"No. No no. Nononononono. NO! I said NO, stop pushing me onto the bloody raft! *roar*"
- Morbid - He has a pessimistic, dark sense of humor and view of life. He believes most people are scum and he can be especially cruel to those he deems his enemies,
much to the chargrin of even those he actually care about. His jokes may also be unfunny to most, as a side effect.
- Being Human (more or less) -Handle with care. Do not place near or towards sharp objects. Regulate temperature regularly. Requires clean water and food. Never store in air tight container.

I have edited, lessened the amnesia (removed it from flaw and replaced it with something else actually) and given a verbal description of the impression he is usually given. In addition to other minor details.

This will change as they find articles of clothing, discover their place in the world and generally figure out wtf is going on.

@Genkai Likewise, I also won't mind writing a description of my character to improve your visualization as @Juicy mentioned. It's rather much easier than trying to find an ani-version of an image I have no idea of the original character.

@71452K I have no idea why, might be the picture but I got a very Wolverine vision. Overall I think he'd be good, two tweaks I'd bring up though would be to maybe nix his amnesia? Considering he's about to be subjected to a big life change it might be a bit much. Maybe if you wanted to say he has issues with short term memory occasionally? Or I'd ditch it entirely. And like above, I'd like to see a bit better of a picture of possible even if it might just be a headshot? Something hand drawn is a bit hard for me to visualize.

Better image, lessen the amnesia. Got it. I'm not sure how to get a better image though because this is quite literally a random image of something I don't even recognize (it's not in the googles of wolverine either lol). But I'll try sharpen the image?

Should be done in 1 days time :).

Anyway, do take care of yourself. It sounds like something I used to go through when I had G.E.R.D (gastroesophegeal reflux disease), very nasty stuff that went undiagnosed for over a year. Sabotaged my senior highschool semesters.

I see this is a discovery/investigative kind of roleplay and so if you don't mind, I've made a character that has purposely been simplified to allow for more flexibility in character developement.

I must say though, the premise is what caught my eye and it has been a long time since we've had a jolly good mystery.
