With you're introduction, that's not the issue I have owo Yeah, Gio is the highest rank in Squad 5, but that doesn't mean he's ready for a Lieutenant position... And I don't believe Daishin followed the procedure correctly... That's all I'm saying... Ok so in my own defence... Giovanni is the highestranked in squad 5. I operated under the assumption that only captains and lieutenants could give missions so I didn't havgo handle that. Also in regards to his work. Prior to the year time skip he bothered the head captain and all that.. since the time skip however he has had a much more independent role. In speaking with kurisa it was established that the head captain lead the kido corps. And then that it wold operate under squad five. In squad five it was his responsibility to make sure the two units blended well and created cohesion. Which he did.he handles most of the paper work for squad five responsibilities as well as maintains authority in the kido corps. You are right Abi, he does not lead the kido corp, because we have no record of his rank there. But kurisa and I spoke around the time of the year skip and established that the kido corps coming out of complete secrecy and blending g with squad 5 was due in large part to giovannis efforts and work. As for going to squad thirteen for the recommendation there is no captain or lieutenant for squad five. According to the OP rules for promotion go only needed a recommendation from A captain. Not necessarily their own captain. While in Canon it is required for it to be the captain of the squad...there is no captain of squad five.

Well, I understand that but it was stated that you were in control of Squad 5 (and Kido Corps commanded. Lying to a Captain isn't a good look brah), which I don't see any IC evidence to suggest that you ran the Squad. Shiro was only 3rd of Squad 11 but due to his leadership and taking them on missions (Including my Nishiki) the Squad members saw him as a Captain figure despite not being given the role. Gio is 3rd seat of Squad 5, that's correct, but due to there being no Captain or Lieutenant, Gio would be the one leading the Squad but he hasn't exactly spent time leading the Squad from what I've seen 'x' If you wanted responsibility and asked, we'd give you permission to lead and create missions for the members (Toaw and Kitsune), therefore you'd be given the responsibility of the Squad. However, Gio seems to be more for the Kido Corps than the Squad f(^_^') Please correct me if I'm wrong, this is just what I see ^_^

As for the recommendation, Daishin doesn't know Gio in any way what-so-ever 'x' I don't believe the two even interacted at all and now, the first time Gio meets him, he's given a recommendation... That just doesn't make any sense since Gio hasn't done anything to prove that he deserves it from Daishin, no matter what rank he has. My Rio is 3rd seat and works extremely hard to keep up which her duties and those around her, but that doesn't entitle her to get a recommendation for a Lieutenant position from Daishin since she doesn't know anything about him, maybe only names and ranks, but that only shows what rank you are now, not your potential owo

Gio has not been doing that, all he has been doing is going to the Head Captain, questioning him, asking for missions off everyone. I haven't seen him take responsibility for the Squad since Gio is more interested in the Kido Corps part of the Squad, not the Squad itself.

Considering the fact that you said yourself that you hadn't been following the IC, alot of stuff had happened soooooo yeaaaaah... And well, Okay then

If he doesn't care about being his Captain reputation, why is he one?

For one, this is an example of why you need to test Shinigamis first instead of handing them recommendations due to 'what they say'. Gio isn't the commander of Kido Corps and there are other people in Squad five... I'm pretty sure Gio hasn't been running the Squad or else he would be giving them missions instead of going to other Captain's 24/7 for missions from them.

For two, so first impressions of people then? The first impression would always be a good one but doesn't necessarily mean that the person is actually like that (Look at Lelouch for goodness sake! Does he look crazy?! Didn't think so... He's mental literally). Also, that would mean Daishin is easily deceived which isn't good considering he's a Captain an' all. He has to give recommendations out based on skill, not impressions. Plus, what has been happening in the IC is that Shinigami have been turning on the Gotei 13 recently sooo Captain's would naturally think more about giving someone of a position of power now more than ever.

For three, weeeeelll you can't be lazy with a Captain, you could of just told Gio to do something for him or show him his skills, that way Gio would have to think on his feet and show Daishin stuff so then you wouldn't have to come up with a mission. Gio isn't Lieutenant level yet, you would know if you tested hiiim, just super-sayin'.

Welll, look at it this way, if he recommended someone and they certainly wasn't up-to-par with the position recommended, that would make Daishin look bad and worse than the Shinigami recommended would look sooo it wouldn't look good for your Captain's reputation. ^_^
