In The End. 9 yrs ago Forum: 1x1 Roleplay
Staying quiet and hidden he watched the dead shuffle out of homes and into the street. they moved to the fire almost drawn to the light. Maybe it was the heat? Why would the dead need either? Could they even see light with white dead eyes? Whatever the reason he was grateful that they didn't notice him. Asano watched his companion walk out of the shop with a sack and a base ball bat. It was metal and had sports tape on the handle.

She looked pleased with the find. She turned to notice the sky in the east turning a lighter color. "Well, looks like we survived the night. We should find a place to rest. Any ideas?" She tilted her head to the side and gave him a smile. The first time since this night began. Getting to his feet Asano looked into the distance. "They are attracted to the fire we should get some distance." He turned to watch her expression and caught his eyes wander only once.

Catching his gaze her smile faded. Her hair was a mess, her clothes didn't fit, she had blood splatter on her face, and she was sweaty. All that had happened tonight and he still took the time to be a perv. Mitsiko clenched the shovel in her hand tighter. "Then we should head to the coast. It looks like they are moving inland. Maybe we could find a boat or something. Travel along the coast." She moved to the back of the bike and waited for Asano to follow her lead.

Steadying the bike he put one foot on the peddle, waiting for her to climb on. She kept on hand on the shovel and on hand on his shoulder. The sack made it harder to balance so Mitsiko slid the shovel between the sack and her back with the metal pointing up. It didn't help her balance. "Sigh.." She leaned over his shoulder. "Don't get any ideas. It's just for balance." She put both hands on his shoulders and stood on the wheel bars. The sack forced her to lean forward more.

Asano rose to put his weight on the peddle. It was harder for him. He wasn't use to this much effort. Heading west away from the fire and the town they rode to the coast staying on the street they saw no cars. Everything was quiet. He was tired, He wasn't sure how long he had rode for but the morning was fast upon them. "I gotta stop." He rolled to the side of the road and put his foot down for balance.

"We only went three miles." She got off the bike. "He was just a kid. Probably never went further then this in his life." Mitsiko thought. "Fine, whatever. We'll switch here." She handed the sack over to Asano and took the bike. He looked tired an ridiculously small with the sack on him. The shovel handle almost touched the ground behind him. "Get on." She didn't look back.
They all look good! Too bad I'm not at your level of writing, good luck! :)
I really like this idea! Hope it plays out well for you! :)

VI felt the host begin to tire. "You're turn VI."

"Good night Tanaka. I'll see you in the morning." She waited until Tanaka was asleep resting comfortably against the window. Her muscles went slack. At this time VI activated the connection and preformed a manual dexterity test. After a triple back flip Vi was assured the connection was solid. Her body needed nourishment. She grabbed a ration bar from the left front pocket. Vi looked around and headed to the elevator.

Opening the door she kicked a piece of rubble into the shaft and listened as it made its way to the bottom. Seven stories. She waited and listened. Nothing moved or made a sound. Vi used the sleeves of the coat to cover her hands and leaped onto the cable. She started to descend. It was hard to ambush someone here as opposed to the stairs.

At the bottom she looked down through the emergency hatch on the top of the elevator. There was a still silence that greeted her. Gripping the edge of the opening she dropped slowly to the floor. The lobby was dark but she could still see. The path to the front door was clear. Not that VI would ever use it. Besides her prey was deeper.

Leaving the elevator she turned left to the stair well as shown on the fire exit map she'd seen before. The fire axe was taken from the hall emergency locker. Making a note of it VI moved to the stair well door. Opening it slowly to see it was even darker here. The stairs went up and down to the sub levels for utilities. They would be there.

VI moved into the dark after letting her eyes adjust. Her soft sneakers allowed for a quiet descent. The smell was something VI would of preferred to avoid. One thing about being interfaced like this that became unpleasant to the program. Mainly because as advance as she was the smell still invoked a physical response from her stomach region. The area was no different then the rest of the city. It was covered in soot and trash. The smell was from various things the A.I. didn't care to identify. The stairs descended only one floor. The door was already broken.

A good sign, VI ran the probability. There was an increase as the foot prints in the soot were recent. Vi crouched trying to determine the type of person. No one in this region would wear high heels so determining the type of person this was by the imprint became a game to her. She saw the imprint was left by a size ten in mens but the depth of the tread was light implying only about thirty six kilograms. They were either female or very starved. They way the boots dragged suggested that the foot was smaller then the boot. Analysis was inconclusive. The need for fresh spinal fluid was becoming critical.

The A.I. can take over the biological component with permission or if the body is in imminent threat. The A.I. then activates the body via a connection at the base of the brain stem. Using the subjects own spine as a signal receptor to the muscles. The A.I. will activate if the subject is rendered unconscious. VI has used this to activate itself during the host resting cycle.
