Current At the age of 30, I got rid of my smart phone and switched back to my flip phone. I've used the same one for the last two years. Battery lasts for a week.

I was told Avengers was mind-blowing, the best Marvel movie to date. I hear some stuff happens that fans are upset about though. That may change things for some people.

Just because I have a Captain America tattoo on my shoulder, that does not mean I'm a manchild. It's my love for juvenile humor and poor decision-making skills that define my manchildness,,,

If you don't like Pinkie Pie as a grown-ass man, then you shut your normie mouth and sit the fuck down.

Bio

I'm 32. Married, 3 kids. I've been roleplaying online since I was 14-ish. Started with chat rooms, then forums in my late teens. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice a few years ago after going back to school online following a disastrous attempt at college (18-20) when I first graduated high school. I spent some time bouncing around crappy jobs, then enlisted in the national guard when I was 22. I deployed to Afghanistan about two and a half years later as an airborne infantryman. I came home in 2011 and bounced around a few jobs. I spent a lot of time working as a security officer for the public school system and mentoring young kids that didn't have much in the way of positive adult male figures in their lives. I'm still enlisted, I now work for the marketing department of an insurance company as I strive to purchase a house.

I like to think I specialize in modern, realistic settings, though I'm open to everything if it catches my interest. I have an enthusiastic interest in most forms of combat and a background in mixed martial arts and self-defense, as well as both the use and construction of firearms. I'm a big comic book enthusiast, particularly a fan of Captain America. I read a lot of Vince Flynn's American Assassin series. I play video games when my family gives me the chance, but nothing very serious. I host Dungeons & Dragons at my house every other Sunday with a handful of friends. If I think of anything else, I probably won't add it, but you can sure ask me about myself anytime you like.

Haha... I'm kind of starting to picture a rag-tag band of adventurers coming together with the addition of @MissCapnCrunch, jumping from rpg to rpg together in a variety of roles.
I do have an old zombie apocalypse plot I kind of want to dust off and try again. Outside of that, nothing specifically comes to mind :( I'm too lazy to want to run a game on my own, unfortunately.
Chambers could not help but smile at the nurse sleeping in his room. He didn't know if there were rules against it, but he figured if there was, she'd still be okay. As he browsed through the tv channels, he couldn't help but sneak a glance at her every now and then. When she was awake, he was always so conscious of his gaze, but now that she couldn't catch him, he allowed himself the opportunity to admire how beautiful she was. A strand of her fell in front of her face, and he cursed the bomb that injured him, because he wanted nothing more than to reach over and brush it behind her ear.

It wasn't even an hour later when a several nurses walked into his room. The noise of their arrival was no doubt enough to wake the sleeping woman in the chair next to Jason's bed. Apparently they had come to prep him for surgery. Chambers frowned, because he had hoped Celeste would be able to take over that role, but it couldn't be helped. The hope was that after this operation, he'd be able to regain the use of his legs again.
Oh yeah, I totally am down for modern fiction. Little adjustments like that work well for me.
I do like me some post apocalyptic stuff, and some good fantasy. I'm not one for pure straight modern--I like modern in a way that like, things can be added. You know, alternate universes, slightly futuristic, or some suspension of disbelief for some little elements here an there, but I'm not a pure slice of life person. But like, modern with a wee twist is good.

I can handle this to an extent. I just have a more difficult time dealing with fantasy and sci-fi scenarios that twist the laws of reality and physics to the point that I have a hard time differentiating between what's appropriate and what's too much of an exaggeration, and after a while, when you start to stretch things further and further, it just gets out of hand until someone has the power to destroy the world. The advantage of Modern for me is that I know the limitations and I can apply real-world reasoning.
I'm so glad you asked! A lot of my play tends to draw from my own experiences, though I am able to translate those into characters with completely different backgrounds/skill-sets for the right plot/setting. I do favor a modern/realistic world most of the time, as well as a very action-oriented plot. That being said, I do enjoy zombie and post-apocalyptic settings quite a bit as well. I play Dungeons & Dragons every other weekend, so fantasy settings work for me as well if the plot and players are good.

I can work with fandoms that I follow or that are quick studies. When it comes to supernatural types, I'm much more interested in playing the humans or "Slayers" when those categories exist, that serve to protect humanity from the eviler things that go bump in the night. Blending World of Darkness with Hellboy is one of my dreams.
@Andrew Blade That's going to be really tough, and I'm leaning towards a "no". I'm not stopping you from applying when the RP goes live but it'll probably be noticeable in your character sheet alone that you're lacking in knowledge.

Noted. I assume knowledge of the world and society and the history of the land would be essentialish.
Zombie apocalypse/SHTF set-up: Rifle, Pistol, Back-up Pistol, Folding knife, fixed blade knife, short sword.

If I had the choice, I'd throw two-to-three grenades in there. Maybe even a grenade launcher, but I hate how unwieldy they can be.
Question- Can I get by without ever having played Elder Scrolls? Especially if I'm a big Dungeons & Dragons nerd.

Edit: Or Farcry 5? Just kidding, I know I don't need to have played Farcry 5, I just wanted to be silly.
Let me see if @Brat432 has any interest
