So I'm not cool enough to do it, but I think a Pokemon based Nation RP would be cool. Jussayin.

Today is a day of sadness. It is the day I quit partaking of the drink of my lord and savior, Lord Coffee Bean. I shall be very grumpy for the next three weeks.

I'm all about that fantasy. I can mix it with other genres, such as sci-fi, slice of life, etc. but I generally stick to fantasy settings. As long as something supernatural or mystical is afoot, I'm interested. I generally like adventure, exploration, and conversation more than action and fighting in my roleplays as long as everyone is having a good time. I enjoy tabletop RPGs such as Dungeons & Dragons, Scion, Dungeon World, and Ryuutama.
Thanks for the replies! :D I liked reading them a lot. I'm busy writing for another roleplay currently, but I should have my post up here after I finish up over there.
I just need to get the Field Moves of Blissey and Lombre filled out and then I'll sit down to write out my IC post. I also still need to write out a description of what is happening in Kalos (such as with the Rangers and my personally created town, Aegisholme).
This is currently a Work in Progress and will be edited heavily as the week continues.
Eloise “Ellie” Fenmar
Braveheart, Forest Stalker, Lady Knight
Age:
26
Ranger Divison & Rank:
Gale Ranger – Sentry
History:
Growing up as the eldest child of her family in the bustling city of Lumiose in the Kalos region was difficult, to say the least. Her parents relied heavily on Eloise from the time she was very young to help take care of her two younger siblings as they were constantly at work running a popular hotel called “The Lotad's Pad”. Their hotel saw many tourists as well as locals staying, and the constant influx of customers caused them to neglect their children, for the larger part.
Eloise performed her sisterly tasks begrudgingly and always felt trapped within the confines of her parent's expectations. She would daydream of going to a far off land, and those dreams were fueled by the steady stream of tales that the customers would supply her with. She found fascination with ancient ruins and fossils especially. It was because of one such tale that Eloise's life would change forever.
A particularly suspicious man had come to stay which caused some distress for her parents. They didn't want him there, but couldn't remove him from the hotel for some reason. They warned all of their children to stay away from him during his stay. Eloise wanted to find out why, and heard them discussing him being in a “Team” of some sort. Due to her rebellious nature at the young age of fourteen, she disobeyed them and went in secret to talk to the shady man.
His tales were marvelous and grew more alluring by the day. He played it smart and would also ask her how she felt or what she thought, and used this knowledge to manipulate her. With a promise to take her away on an adventure, he convinced her to steal a large sum of money from her family and meet her in an alleyway near the hotel.
Her younger sister, Violet, noticed that something was happening and followed Eloise to the meeting spot. Violet stepped in to stop him from taking the money, but in response the man brought out his Scyther. Eloise tried to protect Violet, but to no avail. Scyther slashed her across the left side of her face, and she dropped to the cobblestones below in agony.
The man then proceeded to use Scyther to assault Violet, and though she put up a valiant fight with her Pokemon, Happiny and Lotad, she was fatally wounded in the scuffle. By the time Eloise was able to struggle through the pain and reach her sister who lay bleeding, it was too late. With the last of her strength before she died, Violet had Eloise promise to take care of her Pokemon.
The events of the day left Eloise deeply scarred. Her left eye missing was but a scratch compared to the gaping wound of knowing that Violet had died because of her. It changed her personality entirely, from the young daydreamer who always wanted to escape from her responsibilities, to an eerily quiet young girl with a mission. She would catch the man who did this, and she would kill him. The issue was figuring out how she would go about it.
It wasn't long before she determined that joining the Rangers would be her best bet. She would be free to explore, as her sister dreamed of doing with her Happiny and Lotad, but she would be able to hunt down the bastard who did this with the law backing her. Better yet, she would be capable of killing him with the training the Rangers provided, although perhaps the law would not back that venture. It did not matter. And she would make it her duty to hunt down the other sons of bitches who were in “Teams” and stop them from ruining other people's lives.
The only challenge was getting her own Pokemon, which was a journey in and of itself. She ended up being saved by the Noibat who would eventually become her faithful partner. Together, they went into the Rangers. Their training was intense, but Eloise thrived. Her drive pushed her ever forward, and her Noibat, Aragorn, was just as intense as she was.
During her long missions to the far reaches of Kalos, she ended up acquiring her unusual style of dress from a castle-town called Aegisholme, located in the mountains near Frost Cavern. There she met a man who taught her how to use what would later become her signature weapon, a longsword she named in memory of her dead sister. After returning back to the Ranger HQ in Kalos, she had to convince them to accept her style of dress and her weapon, which they did reluctantly.
She made a name for herself through the years for her dutiful service, but her shining glory was when she successfully took down a minor league Team who was stealing from the sick and elderly in Calanthe Town. However, this heralded an end to her journey in Kalos and she was formally reassigned to Hoenn to help take care of this “Team Zodiac” who had been ravaging the region.
She couldn't be happier to oblige.
Appearance:
Eloise stands at a stout height of 5'2'' (159cm), and weighs around 145lbs (66kg), which is primarily muscle. Her shoulder length auburn-colored hair is a mess of unruly waves which curl towards the ends, framing her face like a Pyroar's mane. On her slender, oval shaped face rests a pair of thin lips below a strong nose. Her right eye is light amber in color and she wears an eye patch over her presumably missing left eye. An old scar can be seen poking out from the top and bottom of the eye patch at an angle.
Her attire is extremely eccentric for this day and age, and she sports a dark gray cloak with fur adorning the top. She has a highly polished breastplate over a long tunic of nearly the same color as her cloak, and dark brown pants tucked into tall leather heeled boots. At her waist rests a particularly long sword with two-handed hilt. She is rarely seen without all of her eccentric gear on, but wears a form-fitting black body suit underneath her ridiculous get up. Despite all of her backward eccentricity, she has a Trainer Gauntlet equipped on her left arm.
Family:
Living: Nicole Fenmar – Mother (57) Nicole is a cunning and extremely focused businesswoman. However, after Violet's death, she began to devote more time to being a mother. She checks up on Eloise from time to time, teasing her about her current relationship status and telling her to get married.
Louis “Louie” Fenmar – Father (54) Louis is a very genial and patient man who takes care of the customer relations portion of his and his wife's bed & breakfast business. He's an excellent cook, and generally spent more time with his children than his wife as they were growing up. He and Eloise have a good relationship, but one of simple understanding. He leaves her to her business, and she visits at least once a year.
Nathaniel “Nate” Fenmar – Brother (19) Nathaniel's relationship with Eloise is strained at best. He heavily blames Eloise for Violet's death, and he's never forgiven her for her mistakes. He's taken it upon himself to find Violet's murderer, and deals with shadier folk while doing so.
Deceased: Violet “Vi” Fenmar – Sister (11) Violet was a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, but could also be a brat and a tattletale at times and it drove Eloise crazy. Violet had a strong sense of right and wrong. She was an aspiring Pokemon Trainer and took very good care of her Happiny and Lotad. She also had a passion for writing, evidenced when Eloise found her journals after her death.
Possible NPCs of Reference:
Aristotle Vaynegard – Mentor (63) He is a resident of the secluded mountain town, Aegisholme, and the man who taught Eloise everything she needed to know about swordsmanship. It is because of him that she dresses the way she does as well. He is thought to be by many in the area the best swordsman in Kalos, and is a highly respected member of the Council who oversees Aegisholme.
Erik Falston – Ranger (29) He's one of Eloise's only friends in the Rangers, and an Air Ranger. Erik is somewhat sarcastic and playful, but charming nonetheless with a penchant for hitting on the ladies. He was reassigned to Hoenn before Eloise, and has gone missing since. Eloise will find him, or find out what happened to him, no matter what.
Notable Items:
– Longsword 47'' (120cm) in length, including hilt. – A fold up tent (single) – Rucksack with cooking implements – Grappling hook
Party:
Aragorn (Noivern) [ Gale Winds ] Flying/Dragon 5'4'' (1.6m) | 201 lbs (91kg) Eloise came stumbling into the cave where he lived with a hive of Beedrill in tow. They were going to attack her, but noticed Noibat eggs in the cave so they diverted their attention to them. Eloise stood between the Beedrill and the eggs, refusing to let them hurt the unborn Pokemon. It was this bravery that caught Aragorn's eye, and he saved her and the eggs from the Beedrill along with his siblings. He decided to join her on her quest. Over the years, he has become exceedingly protective of Eloise.
He is a rapscallion through and through, and loves to play with his prey during a fight. He can and will get serious if Eloise tells him to, but usually she leaves him to his own devices during any battle they come across. During battle, he tries to keep himself out of the line of fire and light on his feet, so to speak.
He stands several inches above other Noivern, making him a rather imposing figure. He has scars from battles across his wings.
Type: Normal Official Effect: Sharply lowers opponent's Defense.
RP Effect: Screech can be adjusted in volume, from an ear-piercingly loud noise that wreaks havoc on the ears, to a sound that Aragorn can cause to carry further distances but causes no pain. The pitch that Aragorn can reach will cause nearby fragile glass to shatter (non-reinforced windows, dishes, etc). He also uses his Screech to communicate with Eloise if need be, and they have set up a crude system for him to report to her if there are Pokemon or people in the area, or if there is an obstacle up ahead. If Aragorn is threatened or angry, he will also use Screech in battle.
Type: Normal Effect: May induce Confusion.
RP Effect: Supersonic is capable of being used by Aragorn as an extension to “see” his surroundings. It is also capable of being used on Pokemon and people to attack their senses and disorient them. Besides confusing and disorienting, it causes a somewhat uneasy pins and needles feeling upon the opponents it is used on.
Type: Flying Official Effect: The user lands and rests it's body. It restores the user's HP by up to half of it's max HP.
RP Effect: Aragorn uses Roost every night for sleep, but if he has battled recently he will also need to Roost for awhile. He avoids using it in battle as much as possible, as it grounds him and leaves him vulnerable to attacks he might otherwise be able to avoid.
Type: Flying Official Effect: The user whips up a turbulent whirlwind that ups the Speed of all party Pokemon.
RP Effect: Aragorn takes off like a rocket, leaving a Tailwind behind him that flows with his movements. He primarily uses this to soar high in the skies to scout ahead for Eloise. In battle, he uses it to swoop down near Pokemon to buffet them with a headwind that may cause them to stumble.
Type: Normal (Possibly Flying typing as well?) Official Effect: The foe is blown away, to be replaced by another Pokemon in its party. In the wild, the battle ends.
RP Effect: Aragorn can use Whirlwind to make the battlefield rougher terrain for the Pokemon in it for a short while, and those who fall into the strong currents of wind are thrown around chaotically. His larger-than-average wingspan and size makes the Whirlwind he creates larger and stronger. Pokemon who are heavier may not be lifted in the winds, as well as those able to remove themselves from the situation using other moves.
Type: Dark Official Effect: The user sharpens its claws to boost its Attack and Accuracy.
RP Effect: Aragorn hones his claws every day ritually, but he will hone them again before every battle, as well as when he needs them sharpened in order to tear through obstacles. If he is capable of doing so, he will find opportunities during battle to use Hone Claws in order to continue his hard-hitting assault.
RP Effect: The sun disappears and is replaced by a darkness which casts shadows in which to hide. Increases the power of Dark-type moves. Increases the effectiveness of Moon-based moves. Aragorn will use Midnight in order to create an environment in which he excels in: Darkness. It can slightly impair the sight of other Pokemon who are not adept at seeing in the darkness, making it easier for Aragorn to unleash his attacks more freely.
Type: Fairy Official Effect: Moonlight restores the user's current HP based on the in the battle. Normal conditions restore ½ total HP, sunny conditions restore ⅔ total HP, and other types of weather restore ¼ total HP.
RP Effect: Aragorn's wings and eyes glow as he drinks in the power of Moonlight to heal himself, and it is especially effective if it is night time or if used in conjunction with Midnight. He must sacrifice his stealth for healing, which can be a risky move as it makes him an easier target for his opponents. He can also use this to light up an area for his party to more easily see in the space.
Type: Bug Official Effect: The user drains the target's blood. The user's HP is restored by half the damage taken by the target.
RP Effect: Aragorn uses this heavily in conjunction with Bite. After successfully Biting, he will Leech Life, draining his opponent of their strength. If he saps enough of their blood, he can cause his opponent to faint from blood loss.
Type: Flying Official Effect: A gust of wind is whipped up by wings and launched at the target to inflict damage.
RP Effect: In nearly the same fashion that Aragorn creates Whirlwinds, he creates Gusts by flapping his large wings, except much faster. These quick gusts of wind can knock an opponent back, or make them fall to their feet if unprepared. It is one of his more frequently used attacks.
Type: Dark Official Effect: The target is bitten with viciously sharp fangs. This may also make the target flinch.
RP Effect: Aragorn pins down his opponent with his size and weight and then Bites viciously, sinking his fangs into them. He almost always uses Leech Life immediately proceeding a successful Bite. If necessary, he can also Bite into his opponent to hold them in place so that they cannot get away from him easily. He uses Bite less frequently because of the risk involved.
Type: Flying Official Effect: The target is struck with large, imposing wings spread wide to inflict damage.
RP Effect: Aragorn spreads his wings wide and slaps his opponents around with them. He will also use it to block attacks from hitting his body if necessary. It is one of his more versatile and commonly used moves, and is one of the reasons he has so many scars on his wings.
Type: Psychic Official Effect: The user relaxes and lightens its body to move faster. This sharply raises the Speed stat.
RP Effect: Aragorn will use Agility when he gets serious or if Eloise tells him to. It requires him to refocus his attention away from the situation and onto his own body. With a powerful mental push, he sets his muscles over their ordinary limit and raises his speed. It can be taxing on Aragorn to use Agility in quick succession, as it drains him mentally.
Type: Dragon Official Effect: The user slashes the target with huge, sharp claws.
RP Effect: Aragorn tenses his muscles, conserving energy in them before he unleashes a raking attack with his massive claws. This momentary delay is what makes him less prone to using it unless his opponent is incapacitated in some fashion. He uses it in combination with Supersonic, Whirlwind, or if he's pinned down an opponent with Dragon Rush and is unable to Bite them for some reason.
Type: Normal Official Effect: By moving rapidly, the user makes illusory copies of itself to raise its evasiveness.
RP Effect: Aragorn begins to vibrate his body rapidly as he attacks his opponent, sparking two copies of himself that mimic his movements with almost near perfection in order to make it harder for his opponent to dodge his real attack. He will also use it in order to intimidate his foes, and is an opening move for him. The copies last for short while before dissipating. Because of the strain on his body by vibrating at that speed, he only uses it a couple of times during battle.
Type: Normal Official Effect: The user attacks the target with an echoing voice. If this move is used every turn, it does greater damage.
RP Effect: Aragorn's voice carries with an unearthly timbre that seems to reverberate throughout the battlefield. The longer Aragorn does it, the greater the intensity of the reverberations. The effect is maddening if prolonged. It is a move he uses when he's unable to get close to his opponent, or if he needs to flush his opponent out from hiding.
Type: Flying Official Effect: The user nimbly strikes the target. If the user is not holding an item, this attack inflicts massive damage.
RP Effect: Aragorn closes in on his opponent and strikes them with his wings, feet, tail, or claws, aiming for the vital points on their body in order to inflict damage. It is an attack that brings him in close and out fast, which makes it one of his more commonly used moves against opponents.
Type: Dark Official Effect: An attack move that inflicts double damage if used on a target that is switching out of battle.
RP Effect: Aragorn slinks into the shadows as he pursues his target with a single-minded intensity, inflicting extra damage on them if they are running or switching out of battle. He will typically employ it more so at night when he's at the top of his game, or if he's already used Midnight to influence the battlefield in his favor.
Type: Dark Official Effect: The target is taunted into a rage that allows it to use only attack moves for three turns.
RP Effect: This is a move Aragorn will use depending on his mood and the tide of the battle. If he feels as if he's doing exceedingly better than his opponent, he will Taunt them with a series of demeaning insults that incite an inexplicable rage within the target. However, if he notices his opponent is outdoing him, he will also Taunt them in order to limit their scope of abilities for a short while. If he and his foe are neck-and-neck, he wont use Taunt as he appreciates the challenge.
Type: Normal Official Effect: The user attacks the target with a song. Others can join in the Round and make the attack do greater damage.
RP Effect: Aragorn sings a haunting song that pierces into the heart and mind of his opponents. It is a song he only sings when he is extremely upset, such as when anyone hurts his friends, particularly Eloise. The feeling he leaves those who hear the melody is one of fear.
A special move created by @Phoenix Type: Normal/Flying
RP Effect: The user tackles the opponent so quickly, a sonic boom is created. This has an independent chance to confuse the user and/or opponent upon impact. He spins himself like a top in order to become more aerodynamic to increase his speed as he rushes toward his opponent. This move does incredible damage but can also hurt Aragorn, which forces him to only use it in cases of desperation.
Type: Dragon Official Effect: The user tackles the target while exhibiting overwhelming menace. This may also make the target flinch.
RP Effect: Letting out a primal roar, Aragorn rushes his opponent and tries to slam them into the nearest surface (wall, ground, boulder, etc.) with his arms and legs to pin them in place. The hostility of the attack sometimes makes his opponents flinch.
Type: Normal Official Effect: The user chomps hard on the target with sharp front fangs. This cuts the target's HP in half.
RP Effect: Unlike his regular Bite, Super Fang causes Aragorn's bottom front fangs to extend and harden rapidly. After the growth is complete, they begin to vibrate intensely as they drill into the opponent. Because of the energy required to manipulate his fangs, he only uses this once in a battle on his own, and another time if Eloise commands it. He can also use this to break through hard materials.
Type: Dark Official Effect: The user slashes the target the instant an opportunity arises. Critical hits land more easily.
RP Effect: Aragorn's claws radiate dark energy as he leaps from the shadows to slash at the opponent's exposed back. Because of the nature of this move, it is most effective when Aragorn is able to stealth around his opponent in the darkness so he uses it at night or in combination with Midnight.
Type: Dark Official Effect: This move enables the user to attack first. This move fails if the target is not readying an attack.
RP Effect: Aragorn hits his opponent in the face with a sudden jab, uppercut, or slap of his tail. Aragorn will use this move as a counter, and has to study his opponent's movements and habits during a battle for it to be more successful. For this reason, it is used farther into battle in order to interrupt one of the opponent's nastier moves.
Type: Flying Official Effect: The user confounds the target with speed, then slashes. This attack never misses.
RP Effect: Aragorn speeds up suddenly, circling around his opponent in an erratic manner as he looks for an opening, then rips into them with his back claws. He can also pick up his opponent if he successfully latches onto them, but only if they are light enough. He will use this in combination with Tailwind and/or Agility to further enhance his speed.
Type: Dark Official Effect: The user approaches the target disarmingly, then throws a sucker punch. This attack never misses.
RP Effect: (WIP)
Type: Dark Official Effect: The user stores power, then attacks. If the user moves after the target, this attack's power will be doubled.
RP Effect: Aragorn's body emanates dark energy as he prepares himself to launch a powerful counter-attack. He uses Payback in very special circumstances: When he knows he's losing, or as an opening move against opponents he knows he hates, such as members of a “Team”, or anyone who has hurt Eloise.
Type: Normal Official Effect: The user attacks everything around it with the destructive power of a terrible, explosive sound.
RP Effect: Aragorn's ears emit an ultrasonic frequency that tears into everything in the area, regardless if they are friend or foe. It is a retaliatory attack that he only uses when separated from the rest of his party to avoid hurting them, or if he's become very angry and is unable to control his rage. The feeling left upon the recipients is akin to Supersonic, except far more intense.
Type: Dragon Official Effect: The target is attacked with a shock wave generated by the user's gaping mouth.
RP Effect: Aragorn opens his mouth and lets out a rapid pulse of black and purple shock waves in a blast aimed at his opponent. The power of the concentrated shock waves can tear through wood, rock, and metal. Because of the potential to hurt anyone caught in the line of fire, Aragorn will only use this when Eloise gives the go-ahead.
Type: Flying Official Effect: The user launches razor-like wind to slash the opposing Pokemon. Critical hits land more easily.
RP Effect: Aragorn swings his wings in front of him at such a high speed that he causes the air in front of him to become a razor-sharp projectile that flies towards his opponent's location. It works better the closer he is to his opponent, causing critical damage if it connects.
Type: Flying Official Effect: The user attacks with a blade of air that slices even the sky. This may also make the target flinch.
RP Effect: (WIP)
Type: Ghost Official Effect: The user hurls a shadowy blob at the target. This may also lower the target's Special Defense stat.
RP Effect: (WIP)
Type: Normal Official Effect: The user lets loose a horribly echoing shout with the power to inflict damage.
RP Effect: (WIP)
Type: Flying Official Effect: A second-turn attack move where critical hits land more easily. This may also make the target flinch.

Type: Dark Official Effect: The user stimulates its brain by thinking bad thoughts. This sharply raises the user's Special Attack.
RP Effect: (WIP)
Type: Flying Official Effect: The user attacks by wrapping its opponent in a fierce wind that flies up into the sky. This may also confuse the target.

Type: Normal Official Effect: A two-turn attack. Blades of wind hit opposing Pokemon on the second turn. Critical hits land more easily.
RP Effect: (WIP)
Type: Dragon Official Effect: The user rampages and attacks for two to three turns. It then becomes confused, however.
RP Effect: (WIP)
Type: Dragon Official Effect: Comets are summoned down from the sky onto the target. The attack's recoil harshly lowers the user's Special Attack Stat.
RP Effect: (WIP)
Halcyon “Hallie” (Blissey) [ Healer ] Normal/Fairy 4'11'' (1.5m) | 103.2 lbs (46.8kg) Hallie was a given to Violet as an egg and was the first Pokemon she received. The two were inseparable, but after Violet's death she saw the intense grief in Violet's sister, Eloise. So, instead of being mad at Eloise, Hallie decided to take care of her no matter what. She often lets herself out of her Pokeball to scold Aragorn and to mend the wounds that her party members have received. She gives off a very motherly air.
Type: Normal Official Effect: The user rests to cure itself of a poisoning, burn, or paralysis.
RP Effect: (WIP)
Type: Normal Official Effect: The user restores its own HP by up to half of its max HP. May also be used in the field to heal HP.

Type: Normal Official Effect: The user attacks the target with an echoing voice. If this move is used every turn, it does greater damage.
RP Effect: Halcyon's voice pierces into her opponent's heart, calling forth painful memories from within. The longer it is used, the more the painful memory that is called forth from within the opponent. She uses this against opponents she deems are evil.
Type: Normal Official Effect: The user endures any attack with at least 1 HP. Its chance of failing rises if it is used in succession.
RP Effect: (WIP)
Type: Dark Official Effect: The user feigns crying to fluster the target, harshly lowering its Special Defense stat.

Leggiadrous “Dro” (Lombre) [Spongy Body*] *A special ability created by @Phoenix Effect: Heals when in the rain. Attack and Defense raise in harsh sunlight, but health is drained. Water/Grass 3'11'' (1.2m) | 71.6 lbs (32.5kg) Dro was a Lotad who lived in “The Lotad's Pad”, and he was often picked on by the other Lotad. Violet stopped them from harassing Dro several times, chasing away the meaner Lotad. It was during these events that Dro became attached to Violet. After Violet died he despised Eloise, although over the years he has earned a certain sort of respect for her. These days it is a simpatico of necessity. He wants revenge for Violet just as much as Eloise herself does. Even so, he cannot forgive Eloise for her hand in Violet's death.

Thanks to @Phoenix I'm getting my Movesets written out today. It takes forever for me to write things, but I'm excited for this. :D
@Loony Are you still interested in joining us? I see you've been offline for a couple of days, no doubt dealing with things IRL, but I'm personally still excited to see you join us whenever your time allows for it. :]
@Prints Avoid How's your character coming along? Would you mind telling me a bit about them? I've been incredibly curious for awhile. XD
There is something extremely captivating about your writing. It's easy to read, but sparks the imagination in just a couple of words. Fantastic first post. I'm certainly giddy for this.
This week has been actually very horrible for me. A lot of stupid drama that I don't really enjoy. And that's caused my character* to be delayed several times. This Pokemon RP is honestly the highlight of my week and the only thing I'm happy about currently.
Sounds sad, but really Pokemon is my one true love. So it's okay. :3
