I think Cinder is just underdeveloped. I think the weapon is fine, albeit a bit boring, but RT might need to spend more time on developing their villain if they're trying to gain sympathy or hate for her. We still have NO idea what her motive is.

Her underdevelopedness is why I dislike her as a villain but I agree if they made her more emotional both in personaility and back stroy I think she be more interesting as a villain. Also her weapon confuses me, I know it's dust but from what we know of dust it highly reactive and volatile so making weapons out of the stuff should be incredibly dangerous and unwieldy, is that an ability due to her natural semblance or is it a power related to the

Appearance:
Mikal like the rest of his kind has a short and stocky frame which places him several heads shorter than most people in the room at any one time outside the pisshole that is Orzammar. He has long brown hair tied in a lazy half ponytail which hangs over his shoulders and has the bare minimum of facial hair for a Dwarf his age. He has dark brown eyes that always look shifty and scanning the area for traps and exits in emergencies. Mikal wears a complex yet light leather armor that protects him from daggers and small traps and explosions. Most of his body is free of scars and blemishes with the exception of his arms which has several small burns and cuts from learning how to make and use traps in his youth, he prides himself and his good looks and silky smooth hair so he does his best to keep these two clean and unscarred.


Abilities
Spike Trap:
Mikal sets down a deadly trap that explodes into a flurry of shrapnel when approached.

Elemental Mines:
Mikal throws a bunch of small grenades full of explosives that explode into different elements when enemies walk on them or near them.

Stealth:
Mikal the skilled Artificer that he is, is also skilled at sneaking around on the battle using the chaos that he creates to find cover and hide and set up more trap.

Shadow Strike:
Mikal has a very mean sucker punch. It nearly always hits enemies’ weak points for massive damage.

Throwing Blades:
While Mikal doesn’t use daggers, he does have a stash of small knives that he throws when bows and arrows take too long to load and fire.

Explosive Shot:
Mikal loves explosions too much not to make his arrows explode when he wants to.

Personality:
Mikal is incredibly competitive-about everything. He is always striving to be the best in everything even if he has little to knowledge about the topic in question. He is at his best intelligent, deft and resourceful. At his worst he can be spiteful, obnoxious and condescending. Mikal’s ambition to be the best means that when he gets hired by his most recent boss he will do everything in his power to make his new boss proud to have him as a hired hand, so he can be bit of a kiss ass and come off as needy and weak willed.

But on the battlefield Mikal is like a completely different person, while off it he is well spoken and calm, if a little bit of an opinionated jerk. Mikal is a vicious and hyper active fighter who is anxious to kill people and try out his new traps on witless enemies who are naïve to his deadly traps. He on the battlefield is an agent of chaos who will cause an insane amount of damage and chaos making it hard to keep track who is fighting who. But no matter what, there will be blood and explosions.

Origin:
I shall tell you the great and humble beginnings of ol’ Mikal Karas. I was once the fifth son and seventh child of Orzammar’s Noble house of Karas. I was the most handsome and intelligent of all my ugly and low brow siblings who could barely swing a sword in their hands without breaking their brutish hands. I taught myself how to use a bow and arrow as well as traps in secret for many years so I could one day prove the worth of a bow and arrow to my Family. But I would never know if they would’ve accepted my weapon of choice as the mass majority of my family was wiped out during the whole king deciding fiasco ended up with a rival noble house sent Carta assassins to wipe out my family since my parents agreed to back Prince Bhelen instead of Harrowmont, I personally never cared for politics, well up until I had assassins chase me out of Orzammar, so for my safety and the continued existence of the Karas name I left Orzammar in posthaste to the surface where I know the Assassin’s wouldn’t chase me off like some kind of Nug.

When I arrived to the surface I picked the worst possible time to go and become a surface dwarf, as you may have known not that long ago there was a blight about to wipe Ferelden off the map, so as soon as I could collect enough golds and coppers I left that wet and cold nug’s asshole of a country to the Free Marches where I found myself stranded and nearly copperless, it was a good thing I’m such a sneaky dwarf, the Templars didn’t even notice me when I sneaked past them, I guess Iwasn’t tall enough for them to care about me. Luckily for me a Dwarf with my set of skills is highly sought after, so I made a decent living off of making traps and killing people which I admit is pretty fun when you get into it like I have.

But I have to leave Kirkwall. For reason, very good reasons I can tell you that. That you do not need to know, I can assure you that. Nobody gotten hurt by my action… Well… not anybody I know.

Well maybe like all shows it just's a weaker season, I'm wiling to give Season 4 chance as it could be very good like season 2 or at least like season 1, I just hope the show's mood is lighten somewhat and we get good world building for the other countries. As I am extremely curious what they are like in canon as opposed headcanon. Headcanons can only get you so far.

I'm also confused about how strong a single person can be without external sources. Like you guys said Glynda is by far one of the strongest characters in the show yet she seems underutilized in combat outside of the intro scene to season one, she is seen more for utility which while useful and cool I would like see what her limits being pushed in combat, which would give us a good indicator on what a normal person potential can be with Aura and Semblance alone

My opinion on why I don't like her is that she has no context what so ever. We have a vague idea why she's doing things but that's more told then showed, I think the flashback episode should've been used to give more context to Cinder, like show us why she's hate the academies and their headmasters and explain what's going on in Mistral that gotten her so riled up. Hopefully Roosterteeth gives more context for her in the next season. But I like Salem so far if going by appearance and voice alone.

EDIT: I love Team FUKY I Hope we see more of them.

"Wow...!" Miki gasped in amazement, he was watching the fluid serpentine movements of a Dratini flying back to it's partner who stumbled backwards with an audible "oof," nearly falling on his butt from the affectionate dragon which caused Miki to giggle at the sight. Miki has just finished bandaging up the Dratini's wound after it's Fire nation partner had gotten them into a fight. The Fire nation smiled at Miki as the Dratini wrapped itself around it's partner, "Thank you, friend, I was worried I would've had to wait before I could see somebody to patch my Tinia," The man said as he faced Miki and gave him a bow, as much as one can bow with a nearly six feet long dragon wrapped around you can allow. Miki placed a hand behind the nape of his neck and gave a sheepish grin at the man's gratitude. "It's no problem at all, but just be careful of fairy type pokemon next time you fight," Miki warned softly with the Dratini letting out an agreeing cry which caused the man to laugh, clearly embarrassed of this mishap, the man once again bowed repeated and profusely thanking Miki for the help he then waved Miki goodbye as the Dratini started to fly down the clear town street.

Miki sighed and started to put away the bandages and healing ointments off the empty stall into a small basket that hold other healing items, most of which were berries for Pokemon battles. Something stirred within the basket as Miki was putting things within it, A small squeak was let out as Miki put in the last item and right after a small brown and purple Skrelp flew out of the basket with a look of annoyance at being woken up from it impromptu nap, Miki gave the Skrelp a gentle smile and then a small grin, "My apology Kelp, I know the last few days have been busy for us and you deserve a nap after noticing that Dratini eariler, but I need you in the waking world to keep me some company, also you know I have a terrible sense of direction," Miki responded calmly and with a smile, it was true that he has a terrible sense of direction, even with a map or guide he always gets lost in cities outside the north pole, he gets lost in his own house, sometimes, so to put mildly, he's lost, he has gotten separated from the rest of the water bending healers that arrived with the avatar and now he has no idea on where to go, only that he needed to go to the tournament grounds when he still doesn't find them in the next few hours. His palms were getting sweaty and his eyes were glancing all around looking for landmarks or street signs or anything that would help him find where he should be going. Miki hand's tighten it's grip on the basket that he grabbed just moments ago he didn't even notice he grabbed the basket until the woven handle dug into his hands, Miki's breaths hasten and became shallow. Kelp gave a look of worry then he swam closer to Miki.

Kelp then floated gently around Miki's head and was squeaking out a melody that always calmed down Miki, which was working, Miki guess Kelp knows Miki better then Miki knows Miki. "Thank you Kelp, you always know what to say, but do you think that Taverns's patrons will know where I should go?" Miki mused as his breath soften and even out, his hands became less clammy and pained as his breathes calmed down. Miki was looking over the sign that belonged to the local tavern, Miki could hear some odd noises which sound like something being tossed around and hooting and hollering Miki obvlious didn't notice that he has found himself at a sketchy tavern in the sketchy part of town all he cared was to ask for directions and find his follow healers. Kelp tried to let out a warning squeak as if telling him not to enter the tavern for his own safety but Miki followed wholeheartedly without a care in the world.

As Miki entered the bar entry area where the first thing he sees is a large man laying on the ground not responding to any outside noise or movements, he was right passed out, Miki looked over the man then gave a look of naive amazement, "gosh, I didn't know there was napping areas in taverns,I'm learning so much," Miki buzzed with enthusiasm, while Miki was looking over the tavern Kelp was studying each and every patron and made sure who and who not mess with if Miki caused trouble with his naivety. But before Miki can enter the bar proper a few ruffleing of the roof and sounds of something rolled drawn his attention and he looked backwards out the entry to see that a mango has fallen ontop a young woman's head, Miki silently look over the woman and all he said was. "Wow, fashion outside the north pole sure is strange..."

Name: Gale Azure

Face: Gale has soft features and large eyes that make him look younger then he is.

Hair: A very dark shade of blue that is almost black in color and is brushed to the side to keep out of his eyes

Eyes: Gale's eyes are a shade of azure which are framed behind a pair of black glasses

Skin: his skin is clear and fair with little freckles on his shoulders and back, also soft and smooth to the touch a telling sign of inexperience to the hardship of life.

Frame: Gale has a lithe body with slightly wider shoulders then hips due to his weapon of choice.
Height: 154 cm (5'1")
Weight: 46 kg (102)

Personality: Galeis an optimistic, friendly, outgoing, and carefree young man with a happy-go-lucky attitude that makes him approachable and easy to befriend. Gale is also very kindhearted and compassionate, something that is highly sought after in a Huntsmen, he cares deeply for the people under his care as well as his friends and family. He is overall very friendly to everybody he meets, he rarely holds grudges, and is very open minded towards others and their culture even towards people that means him harm. Gale will always does his best to support others he cares for even if it puts him in harms way and he will do everything in his power to avoid resorting to violence. He would much prefer to be reasonable and make compromise instead of fighting back.

Gale is rather naive can at times be rather socially obvious, due to his isolated upbringing by his parents. Gale has never battled a Grimm a day in his life and is rather clueless on how to fight in a real battle and is also obvious on the hardships of being poor or being hungry. While Gale is often prepared to go on mission at a moment's notice, he has a bad habit of biting more then he can chew, requiring somebody more skilled to come in and help him, especially when it comes to a Pokemon battle.

Weapon: Giant Warhammer/Rocket Launcher

Weapon Name: War Song

Weapon Functions: War song is a giant Warhammer that is taller then Gale almost twofold, it is expertly made and is lighter then it looks yet heavy enough to smash any Grimm or anybody that opposes Gale. The handle of the giant Warhammer is a rocket launcher that can shoot out massive dust powered Rockets to take out things from a safe distance. It is also a Foci for his semblance as he can the giant hammer to create powerful gales of wind to sweep over the battlefield and he can his semblance to swing his weapon faster.

Armor/ Clothing: Gale always wears fashionable outfits, often wearing suits and ties for causal wear and on the battlefield he wears an exquisitely made dark blue cape, dark blue dress coat with an incredibly long coattail, white dress pants, and dark blue combat boots.

Semblance Name: Second Wind

Semblance: Gale, as one would say can control the gales. Gale's semblance is Air Manipulation. Meaning Gale can create, shape and manipulate air. Currently Gale is inexperience with using his Semblance as so far he can only create moderately powerful winds to knock over Grimm and humans instead of sending them flying, currently he most uses it to increase his combat speed making his War song lighter and swing it faster and he also uses it to increase his running speed and increase his height when he jumps. But this semblance has the potential to be very powerful but he is far from reaching it.

Strengths: Gale is a surprisingly strong and durable fighter with incredibly strong weapon and great potential when it comes to his semblance.
Weaknesses: Gale is horribly inexperience on the battlefield and is overly reckless and often does more then he can handle and is overall just too soft to endure the cruelty of the battlefield as he currently is.

Bio: Gale was born as the only child to a pair of Valite aristocrats, Elizabeth and Norman Azure. Gale was healthy and happy child, born into a life of comfort and freedoms that very few people can say they have. People would expect The Azure's to be all snobby and overly prideful jerks like most aristocrats, but they were good people who tried their best to be the best parents to their child and make the world a better place then when they were children. His parents altruism rubbed off on Gale as he was always a nice and gentle child who cared deeply for those around him no matter how much or little he knew of the other person, his altruism would later inspire him to become a huntsmen so he can be just like the heroes he read about in legends and books.

But Vale's aristocratic society was a toxic place where kindness and softness is frowned upon and is mocked severely behind people's backs, the Azure's were hardly popular with the rich crowd as their belief in equal rights for the poor and the faunus made them public enemies, the Aristocratic mockery he endured as a child further shaped his willpower to become a Huntsmen as he believed being a hero will make other people rethink their words and become better though example.

When Gale was a growing he remembered his parents being one of the first ones to back up the fund the expedition to create what would be later known as Vault. Also during this time Gale started to train so he can make true of his wish to become a Huntsmen.

Not long after once Vault was formed and better protected the Azure family moved to the new nation so Gale can be raised away from the harshness that the Vale's aristocratic game and to also to become one of the first Vault Huntsmen. Once he moved to Vault Gale trained even harder, eventually he learned how to summon his aura and after a few more years of training he learned how to control his Semblance, not long after learning to use his semblance, His parents commissioned a weapon so he could properly fight Grimm, which he later called the War Song. After years of training and fine tuning his aura and semblance, Gale is to join Lustre Acadmey as first year shortly after his seventeenth birthday. He is excited to finally put his training to good use. But he may have bitten more then he can chew.
