Likes, Interests, and Dislikes-

Hello..
I am always looking for new Rp'ers and writers to help fill in gaps between my posts in Rp's that I am currently participating in. I love to create new characters, realms, worlds, all very displayed. I am an artist so I like to add a bit of visual stimuli when I have the time. I try very hard to make it all very immersive. I have a few characters listed below along with my interests and other info...

My likes and interests are Medieval, Low-medium Fantasy, Fantasy, Historical, Ancient, Steampunk, Pirate/Swashbuckler, Dark, gritty themes (18+), Modern, Sci-fi, Future, Dystopian, Apocalyptic, Slice of life, Romance (with plot only), Mystery, Military, Mech/Mecha, Western, Colonial, just to name a few. I like play by post, or chat as well. Large group, small group, 1x1.

My dislikes are Fandoms, High School, ANIME, anything with FUR.. Did I mention fandoms? and fur, already?? I really prefer to play original Rp's and original charatacters for the most part, and I am always looking for new and engaging people to write with. If interested please feel free to PM me.

Writing Style-

Literate, descriptive, multi-para to novella posts. Mature and well written, with grammatical and punctual prowess, and I expect the very same from my partners. Please do not waste my time, and I will do my best not to waste yours.

Trying to spruce up everything and throw a couple of images up. @the Angry Goat Feel free to post whenever you like. I don't guess there needs to be a hierarchy on who posts when or anything.. especially as slow as it's going. I'm still trying to get up some more people, but I can always add them in later on.

Don't forget to check your PM's. I sent you a message regarding the plot. Let me know what you think about it. Like I said you're totally free to post whenever you like. Thanks for adding your character to the list too. I'm going to try and keep this as organized as possible.
Very good. Go ahead and add him to the character page. He is going to do great for this I think.
Bumping. Still needing a few members. RP and OOC boards a=re up already.
@The Angry Goat I love this dude.. very cool. I love how you made his hands shaky and the whole character is done very well. Only thing I would change is the knife fighting skillset to something else. We will assume that whichever weapons they use are the most proficient for them. I don't want to have to do a bunch of unnecessary dice rolling if possible so I tried to keep everything simple. We will just use a 1 D10 as a base for all combat so that's better than a 1 anyway, unless you want to add an inhibitor to him on purpose.. Its going to be mostly story telling so I wouldn't worry too much about all that. But this will give you another skill without having to waste any points on that.

He is awesome man.. very cool.

Guillian was a major port city, much like Y’Vanna’s home city of Avondyllac, though it dwarfed it in size. It was a major trading hub in the Lands o’ the Nine, and brought goods and commodities alike to the people in all corners of the empire. Salts and spices, dyes, fruits and vegetables, and many hard to get delicacies that were succulent in nature all came together here. The Lands o’ the Nine were vast, and stretched far and wide over mountains and valleys and kissed the seas that surrounded it. Most anything the mind could conjure could be found in the Nines.. Guillan was also a cultural hub, as it sat almost dead center in the seat of the empire, it was also the capital. All walks of life exchanged daily routine and custom, as well as religion. There were all sorts from any class thinkable. From the high ups and prominent patrons to the very vile and malicious scrapers at the bottom. There were plenty of this last lot. There were uncountable alleys and nooks within Guillan and not one of them was without it's share of undesirables. This worked both for and against Y’Vanna as it was in these numbers that her ability to blend in came from, but it was also this lot that was her competition. There was one thing to be true, there were thieves aplenty in Guillan. It was probably one of the thickest professions in the port city, next to the whore and songwrite… No matter though, not to Y’Vanna at least. She had a decent enough hand at it to get by. Her father had other intentions for her, and had he still been alive her life would have most likely went in another direction. Delicate fingers traced over the marks on the back of her neck, as her thoughts shifted back and forth like waves in a turbulent sea. No time to get caught in her feelings she thought, as she sniffled and tugged for a small pouch tucked in her waist. She quickly found it and pulled it out, repositioning herself on the bench to take full advantage of the small nook of the corner. She pulled from the bag a small vial of very pale blue powder, so pale it almost had no color at all. Constables were everywhere, walking this way and that. Y'Vanna would have to be tidy about it.

She pulled its cork and put a bit under her nail and put it to her nostril. The “dust” as it was referred to was bountiful in Guillan. Another thing that Guillan was good for.. Didn’t have to go far to find the premium stuff. “Dust” was a potent stimulant, and was popular with the scrapers and the likes. A dangerous vice to say the least, and it was very addictive in nature, and had claimed many a better man than she.. But as it was Y'Vanna was no little girl. She’d had her nose full of it for the better half of a decade now, and she didn’t see an end to it any time soon. The powder soon hit, and her eyes widened as the sweet rush came on. Y'Vanna was keen on using it, especially after a good stent with the grog. She always kept a bit put back just for times like this. She knew it was a nasty habit, but it was like a consort that she couldn’t seem to kick, or a leftover remnant from her days with the pirates that took her on after her father was killed. The markings on her neck nearly vibrated from the thought. Perhaps it was the dust.. The twang of it hit her throat and her eyes widened even more as she tucked the vial back into her waist. She ran her tongue across the back of her teeth and the cloudiness from the grog soon gave way to alertness. Y'Vanna was as sharp as a hewing axe.. The night would soon take the sky and she would embark on this new and enticing “proposition”.

"On with it V." She said to herself as a determined and inspiring sentiment.

A firm brow and a stern look now fell upon her. "V" was a little nickname that had always kind of seemed to loom around her. It wasn't an official or given name but rather just seemed to float to the surface over time, and once that happened it spread like the plague. Her leather pants and boots wretched as she stood, She straightened her attire and sniffed again, and looked in both directions sporadically whilst running a finger ran across where the vial was stashed to make sure for the last time that it was securely in place, before turning to left. Her boots fell briskly to the copplestones below as she turned down Albacore street heading towards the docks and shipyard. To her future to come. Y'Vanna had a feeling that something very big was going to happen in her life this night. One that would surely change her course in one way or another. She thought upon this but a moment before it dwindled like ash in her mind. She welcomed a change, be it good or not.

You're more than welcome to @SantosGabriel77. We are still getting this up and running so feel free to add any ideas you might have, or if you have any context you'd like to discuss on what is already establish that'd be great too.

@The Angry Goat That sounds great. Just make sure that your healing capabilities aren't crazy outrageous or anything. I'm trying to keep excessive magic to a minimum. I don't mind the ability to heal by any means, just don't make like a crazy Final Fantasy type ordeal.. Healing should be sparse and should require a great deal from the player to pull off, very draining on the body or what have you..

Another approach would be a person keen on making elixirs or concoctions. This would also require a bit of magic as well and some preparation, but even within the group this could prove to be lucrative for your character. Awesome idea though, way to be creative. I very much like the son and bumbling apprentice idea a lot.. Kudos.
Very minimal. A paragraph or two should do fine. I don't see much point in having much on the CS as they are going to be grouped, I'm sure that most of it will come out in the rp, so no need to write it twice. Kind of adds to the anticipation and expectations they might have when interacting with one another, saves a bit for surprise. Also go very minimal on equipment and stuff too. There will be lots of item acquisition later on so. Thieves should pack light anyway.
The beginning process of the plot will consist of each player being setup and caught by guards on a test of sorts, where each is sent after or just thieving an item (preferably one that takes a bit of skill to acquire.). After the item is obtained they are subdued and imprisoned awaiting a meeting before the High King's court, where they will be set out upon their perilous and lucrative journey as a group. No specifics as to how each of you decide how this goes down so be as creative as you like. Also take as much time as you need to reach this point, say 1 to 3 posts, using this time to set up a backdrop and feel for your character's demeanor and style. Once all of us reach this point I will narrate the small bit with the meeting.

Monetary System will be in silver bits, or gold coins. 20 silver = 1 gold
Currency should be kept up with on CS, and changed upon usage in posts. This also applies to all ammunitions, firearms or bows. Prices should be made to resemble comparable amounts of common items.. Like a beer is usually 2 or 3 bucks, so to make it easy we just translate to 2 or 3 bits, as they should resemble or be close to comparative currencies of today.

Specialty or novelty weapons, or weapons forged by higher skilled artisans or weapons or jewelry pieces produced by quality makers and vendors will be determined by GM, prompt a
"What's for sale" or "I'm looking for a-, What'ya got?" inquiry in post to summon for a NPC. If you sort of describe what you are looking for I will be happy to come up with a few select items for purchase at that time for you to look over.

Other items can be discussed and amended to list upon approval.. Don't hesitate to ask..

SKILLSET ALLOWANCES/SUCCESS ROLLS

(only when attacking or using skillsets)

Beginning characters are allowed 15 points to divide into 5 skillset categories. Each point represents a D2 coin flip. (For example lets say that you have a 3 in lockpicking, when you go to roll youd type in 3xd2 and say you get 2 out of 3 then it is a success.) The number of successes and the number of the roll (higher number of successes are executed with greater finesse) determine the successfulness of the action, and the lower the success numbers rolled the poorer the performance. Zero successes will result in a catastrophic failure.
I'm not going to go to check every roll, and this will be based on trust in the individuals playing. Remember that these players aren't exactly the best of people, so some failures will add to their character and should provide a good read, and also make everyone write a bit out pocket.. at least that's the idea. Again you don't have to roll on every occasion or every small action, just on ones that hold weight in each post. A Dice Roller can be found on the home page of the Guild over on the right I think. Look at Y'Vanna's sheet to see how these points are dispersed. You don't have to have 5 skills, just not more.. Also feel free to make up your own skillsets that you think might come in handy. If they are magical in nature please run it by me first..

SKILLSETS/PICKPOCKETING

When rolling for pickpocketing skillset, upon successful picking roll 1 d100 to determine a random amount of currency. This number will be in bits not coins, unless all dice are rolled as successes, then the roll will represent coins, but only on a 1 D20 roll instead of a D100. If you'd like to pick jewelry or other items, then the number of the roll will be the worth of the item instead of loose currency.

When zero successes are rolled the pick will be a failure, which will also alert the party being picked, and will result in some form of confrontation.

(If no skill points exist for skill player rolls 1d6 but must roll above a 4 for success. If successful in same action several times the GM may award character with this skill, adding 1 point, accumulating over time. Please make the GM aware of this as best as possible.)

ATTACK ROLLS

Attack rolls will be done with 1d10. The higher the number the better the outcome. a roll of 1-3 will be considered a fail, and up to a roll of 5 will be considered poor execution.

When attacking with any weapon other than what you are used to add a -2 modifier to compensate for skill adjustment.

Injury Modifier

If a player is injured a -2 modifier will be added to roll for the duration of the injury.

Flaw modifier

When a character flaw comes into play a -2 modifier will be added to roll on first roll, if roll is still successful then the modifier drops to -1 for the next roll if the flaw is still applicable..

For instance, intoxication, or under the influence failure (oh shit, you did it this time) and the mod stays at -2, but if successful (Hold my beer! I am a golden god!) , and the mod drops to -1.

(This applies to all flaws, lying or physical setbacks, etc, whichever flaw governs your character.)

Intoxication Modifier

A -1 modifier will be added to each roll while intoxicated.

(This applies to all forms of intoxication, for every player regardless of whether or not it is a flaw, and must be added to the existing flaw modifier if already in place..)

When rolling for attacks that involve a flintlock or powder weapon a -2 modifier will be added to the roll due to their unreliable nature (misfires, poor aim, wet powder, etc.). You must roll a 6, 7, or 8 for a good hit, 3-5 is a near miss, which doesn't mean that you don't hit the target, just maybe not where you intended to. Also on a roll of 1 or 2 or a catastrophic failure will result in personal injury or equipment damage. ( powder burns, backfires/shrapnel, ricochets, etc).
