Jason decided to do something he rarely did. He called Mathias, right as he made it to the main body of the Hydra. He just calmly waited for him to pick up the phone, while leaning against the corner, because he was in pretty much the only spot where the hydra couldn't see.
James followed them because he was unable to sense anything either. He still kept his Serene State so nobody could sneak up on them though. He also used his wind abilities so he could hear what he liked to call the "Voice of the Wind."
James looked at Bane. "What's wrong? Is someone nearby?" he asked. There were a few lit embers floating around his right hand, as if his arm could ignite at any moment. He closed his eyes and went into his Serene State, allowing him to feel the flow of everything around him, and he tried to sense if anyone was nearby.

Suddenly, a guy dressed in a hoodie and jeans dashed past John and Alyssa's hiding spot, wielding a lance. He dashed straight towards the hydra head and leaped, driving his lance straight between its eyes. Then, while the head was trying to smash him against the walls to get him to let go, he pushed the lance in deeper while it was still trying to get him off of it.
