Shadow said, "The emeralds will be safest in my hands, though. I am the only one that has abilities with them without having all seven, so you're going to have to trust me."

James, to get away from the horde and buy himself some time, took a turn, jumping a fence, and most of the horde followed him, minus a few zombies that noticed the people at the church and started heading towards them. He quickly climbed up onto a roof and ran across it, leading the horde away from that church.

Even at this little bit of distance, Shadow was at least close enough to the emeralds to use his powers, but he chose not to. "Let me hold onto them. So I can...keep them safe." He actually planned to use the 6 emeralds to find the 7th one, but he couldn't tell that to them. He would literally do anything to get what he wanted, and this weakling wasn't going to stop him.

Silver saw that Sonic was almost in condition to stand up again, glad that the healing properties from Necrox earlier was helping. Though, he then noticed someone else, a certain hedgehog that he wouldn't expect to see here. "S-Shadow! You're here too?" Silver blinked, remembering that he and Shadow had a brief rivalry before having to face Eggman Nega.

Shadow looked at silver, before noticing the condition Sonic was in, but, he also noticed something else. They had 6 of the chaos emeralds. How did the chaos emeralds end up in another world...? He pushed the thought aside and walked over to Sonic and Silver. He didn't really care about Sonic's well-being, or the fact that he was so badly beaten right now. He looked at silver, and asked, "Do you have the chaos emeralds?" Because of his chaos powers, he could feel the energy of the Emeralds.

James Hunter sprinted down the street, his rifle strapped to his back, his kukri machete in its sheathe, and his pistol at his hip, while he sprinted for his life from what was literally a horde of zombies. He spotted two people standing in front of the old abandoned church, knowing that the horde was too focused on him to notice them, so he yelled to them. "Hey! You two! Get your asses inside!" he yelled, while continuing to sprint in their direction, while planning to sprint past them.

btw, unless your character is EXTREMELY athletic and knows how to make an escape route with one move no matter where they are, don't bother trying to make your characters try and get my character to join them in a group.
