Nolox has a slight weakness to sunlight. Fair enough. If Nolox dies, Drana wouldn't really care anyways, I just thought he'd be an interesting side-character to have tag along.

Will more advanced civs need to find us and meet us before we can interact with them? I'm thinking of playing Tier 5 but I don't want to be isolated for the vast majority of the roleplay.

Unfortunately it is the case, to a degree. Tier 5 (possibly 4) civilizations will need the grace of a more advanced faction to happen upon them if they want any player-player interaction. That being said, I encourage such Tier 5 factions to ask for others to interact with them. Ultimately it's your decision what you choose to be, and from there your own proactivity.

If you'd rather just appeal to yourself, why not just write your own stories outside of an environment where your actions affect others?

See but this is where you guys initially misinterpreted this. His history clearly indicates that the powerful shit was in their past. If he wanted to win he'd have kept it in the present era of his history.

The only thing it can't do that a 2D map can is outline galactic sectors and name them. Nothing throwing an image of it into paint can't solve though.
