Occupation: Works at his grandmother's shop, The House of Bone and Chalk. Someday it will be his. 

Family: Julia Laveau: Jack's grandmother and magical mentor. She "retired" from the conflict between the different groups when Jack was born. She still trains Jack or Jacques as she calls him. She also taught her grandson the proper way of cooking. It is important to keep the ancestors happy and there is no better way than cooking. Jack never knew his father and his mother died when he was born. 

Appearance:

Personality: Jack is quick with a joke or a smile. When the sun is up Jack is all smiles and sunshine. But under that exterior lies a cold and calculating man. He always has plans with in plans. He tries to fix the wrongs that he sees and will go out of his way to right societal wrongs. Even if he cannot use his magic there are other magics that can work. 

History: Jack was born into magic from the moment he was born. To the outsider it appeared that they were a normal family. They had a normal family except for the traffic death of his mother moments after his birth. It was as if she had just given up. Her son was raided by his grandmother and appeared just as normal as the rest of the family. He went to school like a normal kid and seemed to excel in sports in particular football. He got a scholar ship to LSU to play there and could have gone pro. Except he turned it down to return home and work with his grandmother. That was the only strange thing in his life. Now he works at his family's shop and seems content. 

Occult History: to understand Jack Laveau you must initiate the secret histories. You see, the family was not as normal as it would appear and Jack least of all. Before he was born, it was discovered that only one , mother or child, could survive. His mother chose him and thus the first male Laveau was born in almost 120 years. The family magic would skip a generation and would usually be given to the eldest femal child. Since his mother was dead, Jack was now the heir. It was unknown if the ancestors would even accept him. 

When he was five years old, his grandmother took him to the cemetery to meet his Great Great Grandmother. They entered the old mausoleum and Jack stood as his mother called out to their ancestors. The first spirit to arrive was a woman with a large headdress. The spirit looked at the boy and laid her shadowy hands on his shoulders. The other spirits did the same in return. The contract was sealed. They had accepted him. After that day, his grandmother started to teach Jack everything that he would need as a magical member. She then changed his name to Jack Laveau. Every witch in the family would take the last name of their most famous ancestor as respect. 

Jack returned early from college to take care of his ailing grandmother and to finish the ritual to make him a full user. Now he is sealed to the land of the Tremé and to help the problems of those around him. He supports the Rebels and wants to see the vampires dead. Laveau's are always fiery people.  

Occult Status:Not a leader of his coven but close to the top. 

Additional Info: He is a very good cook since he was taught by a master. It is not odd to see him walking from his house to the cemetery carrying bags of freshly made food for his ancestors.
