Ethan had chosen a seat next to an aisle to limit the amount of people he had to interact with and give him a quick exit once the conference was over. He wanted to spend the least amount of time rubbing elbows as possible. There were so many thugs turning up that the place was officially a powder keg. However, he assumed that they were all here for money, and that at least would keep them in check. He was wearing his work suit.



With a swipe of his finger across the arm, he activated the smartglasses. He went to turn on the jamming signal, but then got a message that his wifi and signal were already jammed.
"Well, atleast my new boss isn't incompetent." he thought.

For the next few minutes he listened to the boss's speech. He was foremost looking for blind spots which could make his job more risky. The following are some of Blaine's thoughts:

Ethan got into programming in his teen years. He studied it at college and was the first in his family to go to university. Hes fluent in the 3 main programming languages and can pick up others on the fly. He even custom built his own ICE breaker using code from 3 commercially available ones. Usually programmers have to make a choice between connection speed and security. Ethan is determined to have both, so he rebuilds everything he gets to optimise it.

• Has worked for you for a few operations before this one. Managed to get an access key from someone's email.

• Managed to bug a managerial meeting discussing the bargaining position of a wealthy consortium. Allowed you to push them to the limit of what they were willing to pay for the deal.

A B I L I T I E S :
Shrike "Blur":X1 Ethan had to save up and has just bought the Shrike "Blur": X1, This fibre optic upgraded nervous system allows for incredibly fast movements and reaction times. However there is a limit to which his muscles can go before they run out of energy, requiring him to go and down numerous sports drinks and energy bars.

Traceur: Parkour. Ethan has been a traceur since he was about 12. He was in on the parkour scene where he grew up playing on construction sites. Even then he had some idea that it would prove useful later in his life. His parkour name was "Satchell" as chosen by his peers.

Phenotype Edge: Blaines ancestors have been through hell and come out clean and smiling. His earlier ancestors, when they were taken from Africa. His father, in the US army. Fighting is a tradition, weather its in a war or just fighting to survive. Whenever he takes heavy wound, it only counts as light wounded.

"My fathers tricks of the trade" Ethans father was a Sergeant-Major in the US army. He was the leader of a special unit that conducted counter-terrorist and anti smuggling operations that would take him all over the world. He didn't talk much about his work, but he was a strict father and taught Ethan what he could about warfare. He couldn't have predicted the way the world would change.

Ethan is proficient in all manor of standard issue rifles, and even a few designer ones. However he is talented most with pistols and can push a good pistol to the limits of what their capable of. He is also proficient in breaking any lock (headlock, arm lock etc) someone puts on him with a well known martial arts move. Judo, Karate, Aikido, Boxing, Krav-Maga.

Mild OCD: Everything in Ethans possession is immaculately ordered and completely dust free. His hard drives, his server towers and even the code that he writes. This may infact be a mild form of OCD but it has its benefits: When writing a program such as a custom ICE breaker, it takes him 1/4 longer but the finished product counts as one quality level higher.

3d printed scandium alloy with short reset trigger, black tennifer finish. 10mm AUTO, 14 rounds. 3 magazines. In a concealed carbon fibre shoulder holster. 2 magazines of 10mm TAZER rounds.

Contains:

• EMP scrambler unit. (last ditch hacking attempt)
• Customised ICE breaker "Electric blue V2" on datapad, various cable connectors.

Smart-glasses. A Discrete computer with heds-up display. Can select files by looking at them. Has a selection of .exe files for various programs he can select just by looking at them and dragging them to the open button. They all contain various hacking tools and viruses. Comes with a plastic leather case.
Implanted subdermal microphone. Can send and receive calls from encrypted radio frequencies. However this is all hardware as Ethan doesn't trust putting software in your brain. Can use an induction loop to communicate with smart glasses.
Smartphone with throat mic connected to the subdermal.

Allot of what i went through was conditioning... Like, everything theyve used to break me is everything that made me.

Why do you want this job?

Progress... i figure you've got a better chance than most, and hey, i'm along for the ride.

How are you qualified?

I've got skills. I can hack a keypad in 4 seconds. I can run a city block in 4 minutes, in difficult terrain. My skills at information gathering are professional. And when it comes time to do something, i have a light touch. Like, they wont know if it was me or just bad luck.

I wont kill. it'd cost more than you've got. If someone shoots at me sure, ill shoot back, like, thats our game. But i'm not your assassin, i'm the technology.

What is it you expect to receive in return?

Just a tag that reflects the risk involved. Stock in some of your companies in return. As you benefit, i benefit.

Hi, any room for 1 more player? Im attracted to the level of zen about the OPs description, however i must warn you, im not good at playing the badguy though. Morally grey i can do, just as long as its against a greater evil.

My characters inspiration: The film Buckaroo Banzai, The show Botsmaster. And something i cant yet describe. My own view of what the future will look like.
