The Walking Dead-From the beginning -Closed

Kat laid on the bed, her face pressed into a pillow.

Jenna... sweet beautiful Jenna... who always had a smile and a plate of food for everyone...
How had this happened? They were supposed to be safe here. They were supposed to be safe...
Kat was sobbing, unable to stop. Gracie, not sure what was wrong, cried because her Mommy was crying. Kat jumped and grabbed the piece of pipe she kept under the pillow as someone tried to the door. When Matt called from the other side Kat ran to the door and unlocked it. She immediately wrapped her arms around him, sobbing into his shoulder. "We're supposed to be safe here! she cried, pounding his chest with her fist a time or two. "How did this happen?! Why Jenna?! She never hurt anyone!" Kat began to cough, unable to breathe easily from her sobbing and the pain in her chest.

Gracie reached for both of her parents, wanting comfort herself even though she didn't understand what was going on.
"We can't stay here," Kat said once she got her breath back. "We can't. If someone can get in, kill one of us and leave again without anyone seeing them or being able to stop them, we can't stay here. I will not have Gracie and my unborn baby somewhere that isn't safe. If this is Vincent finally coming after us, we have to leave... find somewhere new... somewhere far away that he doesn't know about. We can't live like this."

The whole time she spoke she cried, clinging to Matt like her was her last hope.

Personality : Quiet only because she is extremely observant. People tend to reveal their inner selves more around her because they forget that just because she is deaf does not mean she is stupid. She is actually incredibly intelligent.

Bio : Rose was not born deaf. A car accident when she was 12 caused her to lose her hearing. But her other senses sharpened. She taught herself to read lips by the time she was 14. She became an interperator and a huge advocate for the deaf community, encouraging others to realize that the deaf are not handicapped, they just do things differently.
Her sister and father helped her adjust to the new world after the walkers appeared, but they were both killed, her sister by walkers and her father by raiders. She has been on her own ever since but she knows she will not survive long. But finding a group to accept her has been challenging. No one sees a deaf person as any value, more like a liability. People have thrown rocks at her and shot at her to keep her away from them. One group went so far as to set off firecrackers to draw walkers towards her. Rose has become a bit like a stray dog, wary of the next hand that might strike her but still hoping for the kindness of strangers.
