Never Normal - a Superhero Vigilante RP

Shifting the weight in her arms with another curse, Reaper regained her footing before continuing on her journey, having started just on the other side of the house and quickly ducking to and fro in shadows – reappearing meters away as though walking through portals. Scarlet Shifter seemed to weigh as much as the tower she was just minutes before – and how quickly things had dissolved from that tiger! But if Reaper’s muscles were protesting she couldn’t feel it currently as her abilities muffled the pain, allowing her to dip into another shadow and reappear another two blocks down.

The sounds of fighting had faded. Logically, this meant Reaper had succeeded in bringing Scarlet Shifter far enough away from the battle they wouldn’t easily be found. Emotionally, her heart twisted with worry at the thought that the tide might’ve turned with them down a teammate. Yet the objective came first. Reaper knew that. It didn’t mean she had to enjoy it. Luckily one person wasn’t a huge strain on her – though she was panting by the time she found herself a few more blocks away. From here it was one more shadow step – one more strain on her abilities – and picking out the shadows in a darkened office building to get inside.

It was entirely possible to continue towards HQ, but Reaper and Scarlet Shifter were a ways away now. Stopping allowed Reaper to catch her breath and check on the shapeshifter. The vigilante carefully set Scarlet Shifter on the floor and retrieved her first aid kit once more from under the black hoodie. Taking a kneeling position beside her Reaper began to carefully check the wound – discarding the bloodied bandages to replace once more. Rocking her to and fro in the escape probably wasn’t helping the already aggravated wound.

“I could bring her to Dr. Stagelson…” Reaper couldn’t help but muse as she studied the wound, rapidly being covered in more gauze and bandage. “It might worry the others if I’m not at HQ though.” Tying off the bandage soon saw the kit being replaced again – and some materials left on the floor of some poor man’s office who was done for the day.

“At least it’s not one of my buildings…”

Hope you don't mind, I made a new NPC. General Scales, Inertia, Korkoa and Zapdos all helped out though.

Name: Woodrow "Kumquat" Stagelson
Quote: "All the kumquat's a stage, so Stage's the world!"
Alias: Stage
Age: 49
Gender: All of the above

Family: Stage's mother was a curtain and father was the lighting system
Stage's grandmother and grandfather were both TV satellites and decided to marry, the ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was great.

Occupation: Theater performer. Stage's been in so many big shows!

Appearance: Originally Stage was made of the finest imitation MAHOGANY, hand made and polished with only the best. Over the years however Stage slowly got dirtier and dirtier, cracking in places and dust piling on Stage's once beautiful wood. Stage is truly scarred now, years of wisdom under Stage's belt and scratches in Stage's pristine wood. Just recently Stage was completely ripped a new one, however, and the battle wound is noticeable to all who look.

Stage's costume consists of whatever props are placed on Stage that night.
Method of Operation: Stationary, but everyone knows Stage. Stage knows Tank the best thanks to their intimate encounter the night Ditch's team met.

Superpower: Stage can give people deadly splinters. The power to make any theater show a hit, too! When its materials collapse on people, it's a hit they'll never forget.

Weakness: Powerful superheroes, particularly ones with super strength

Skills: Stage has a lot of practice holding a group of people up, supporting them in their efforts to stand above the rest, except when Stage collapses.

Equipment: A full lighting system backs Stage up, with integrated sound. It's a little rusty from disuse, but Stage is still raring to go! Stage also has red, dirty curtains.

Personality: In Stage's prime, Stage was sociable and friendly to Stage's users, but had built up a sense of arrogance and pride because of Stage's popularity over the years. Stage's a little bitter now due to being ignored for so long, but with the surge of new vigilantes coming to Stage's base and meeting Stage that confidence is slowly shooting right back up.

Secretly, Stage is also really kinky, so Tank's first meeting with ripping Stage apart was something Stage will remember for the rest of Stage's life.

Biography: Stage was formed of many logs, which meant many hands went into creating Stage. They all died because they were being paid two cents a day. Now Stage has a new family - a family of vigilantes! Stage's power to give people splinters will finally come to use for more than just vengeance for people wearing dirty shoes! Provided Ditch's team ever brings home any bad guys to Stage.

Theme Song: The Log Song. It reminds Stage of Stage's younger days.

Relationships: Tank: Ever since the dust and filth piled on Stage's beautiful wood, it was tank that cleaved into Stage... literally. It was then the stage was clean once more and a spark formed. There is also a family of feral cats that live with Stage, they like eating microphones.

Extra: Stage is the least normal out of everyone, but Stage is also a trend-setter, since Stage was at Ditch's base before it was cool. Kumquat We're not normal.

Turn Back's eyes widened as the blast of flame came towards him, he dove to the ground and covered his head as he heard the nuts explode harmlessly in midair. He looked around, finding his discarded bandanna, grabbing it and a few more bills, and wrapping it back around his face. They had to get out. This had all gone wrong, and they needed to get Scarlett out. "Levi, Reaper!" He cried out, standing up and backing towards the hole in the wall. "Fall back, get to Tank!" It was at that moment that he noticed the laser eyed villain's own shadow leaping up to wrap around his head, barely containing the first concussive blast aimed at Reaper in the vicinity of his face. Turn Back sprinted forward, grabbing Reaper's arm and pulling her away.

He remembered something about Reaper being able to teleport, and so as he pulled her towards Tank he outlined his plan. "We need to get Shifter out of here, and you're our best shot! We can hold them off, you need to take her and go!"

"What, and leave you with Talky and the psychos? I won't even be able to take her that far!"

"You can take her far enough!" Turn Back yelled as he ducked out the hole in the wall. "Hide her somewhere, put her somewhere safe! We'll be fine, me and Tank can take just about anything, and Sparky is crazy enough to be a wildcard! Scarlett is our mission, we need to get her safe or we lose!"

"We lose if any of us get captured too, kumquat!" The darkness manipulator snapped in return, but nonetheless as they approached Tank she merely huffed, "Distract them for a minute." With that said Reaper trusted Turn Back to do what was necessary and slid in front of Tank, reaching for Scarlett even as her blackened eyes darted around to look for escape.

"Change of plans, big guy," Reaper muttered to him, and as soon as he let go of Scarlett both the shifter and Reaper dropped - right into Tank's shadow to disappear.

TB sprinted forward, purple energy flashing around his feet as he sped up, planting his staff behind Tank and leaping into the air, vaulting over Tank's shoulders and landing on the ground, absorbing the energy of his landing and swinging the staff in front of him, charging it with nearly all the remaining energy he had. "Sorry to drop in on you ladies, but it seems my buddy Tank needed someone else for this double date!" He said with a grin, dropping into a defensive stance.

A distance away, just passed the now destroyed building that was once Scarlet Shifter's hideout, Reaper stumbled out of the shadow of another home that she just barely picked the shadow of between the ruined walls. A quick glance around and the vigilante grunted and brought Scarlett into the darkness once more. If she was lucky, she could make a few quick shadow steps to lose the others to hide with her prize in the maze of houses. After all, they didn't know how far she could take another person.

Reaper was still going to kick Turn Back's ass for this later, though.
