Bio

Hi and welcome!

I started roleplaying about 18 years ago and have recently returned to it because I missed it. I most like adventurous sci fi and fantasy, or more slice of life to action action filled modern day magic and mutants. I'm not into fandoms anymore and I'm not looking for romance roleplays either.

Often people create dark characters with heavy pasts. I do that sometimes too, but my character will then have a 'that's just life. Deal with it' attitude instead of feeling sorry for themselves. I also enjoy playing characters without such a heavy past. I enjoy the sciences so playing a scholar or mechanic is right up my alley. I also practise martial arts, but thougg I oike playing fighters, they are more the stealth characters than the muscled ones. I don't like hormonal (teenage) characters. I don't take death lightly so unless I'm playing an assassin my characters will look for ways to avoid murder.

Lastly, I love being a GM and controlling an entire world. I have some sci fi and modern fantasy worlds in my mind which I would like to play out here. I'm also a regular player, mostly casual where description is limited to what's necessary rather than describing every step, scent, bite or thought that occurs.

So that's a little about me. How about you?

When the woman he'd seen in the file picture came in, Alexander stood up and looked back at her. He had a few smart remarks for her, but these people had no sense of humour. Since he would be around this woman a lot in the near future he decided against any of those remarks at this time. She would be his boss for the coming time after all. He would end up pissing her off soon enough, he guessed. That was inevitable when they hated you for breathing air even before they ever met you and now was not the time to fight. A couple of years ago he would have chosen differently, but he'd learned to accept him place.

She intended to use him to get higher up. At least she didn't deny that. He preferred brutal honesty to gentle lies and she seemed like she would say exactly what was on her mind. Alexander bit his tongue and schooled his face to be as blank as he could muster. He folded his hands behind his back, taking on a stance that said he was no threath to her, just waiting for orders. He may not have a power he could use against normals, just being a super was enough to make them expect you to attack them with invisible forces anytime they turned their backs on him. Standing like this usually helped avoid aggression.

Alexander wondered how this day would turn out. He guessed they were already assigned a job, though he had no idea what that was. As his new boss, it was her job to brief him. Would she want to question him first or would she get on with it?

"Oh honey, no. Not a bad way." She brought her hand to touch your cheek. "You're like him in that you can't sit still. Family life, settling down, living simple... He tried. He really did. For your sake he tried but it wasn't for him. He was an adveturer, and so are you. He wanted to see things, just like you. He wanted to be out ther, to help people, defend the weak. He had this picture in his heas that he could help build a better place and it wasn't happening by living a simple family life."

Mom sighed deeply and for a moment seemed lost in thought. Then she shook her head. "So how much money do you have saved up? And how much will you make tomorrow?"

Through the window a downpour of rain gave the lamp lit courtyard below a sad look. Two men in long coats hurried about, one holding an umbrella to shelter himself from the rain, the other using a file bag for much the same reason. They looked like sad miniatures from the twenty-seventh store of the government's headquarters in their quest to control and regulate supers.

The window in the briefing rooms of these floors couldn't open, an automatic climate system took care of the temperature and humidity throughout the whole building. It was equipped with what had been state-of-the-art technology thirteen years ago when the building was designed.

The tv in the room was tuned in to this year's presidential speech, but Alexander wasn't listening. He knew what she was going to say. The halls had been buzzing with the news for days. The agency was quite excited now that the research was finally finished and the Ray approved. It would be a turning point in history indeed, though not a pleasant one if you were a super. Oh well, for him it didn't matter anymore. He was already registered, assigned a job and deemed under control.

Alexander followed the movements of the two black spots representing men down below until they disappeared inside the building, then looked at the clock. It was about time for his new handler to show up. She was his third handler in four years, the previous two both moving up the ladder after having worked with Alexander for a coule of years. With the last one they had caught that Rufus guy, effectively shutting down a significant Blue Jay cell in New York after nearly six months of field work. His handler had gotten a promotion for that. Alexander had been cleared of punishment for whatever they had accused him of this time.

Alexander turned off the tv as the Alaskan president finished her speech, grabbed the info of his new handler and flopped down on the couch, looking it over one more time. Cori Woods, a twenty-nine year old agent. She was young for a handler. Both his previous handlers had been above fourty. She had quite some years in the agency behind her though. She must be good at what she did to have made it this far so quickly. He wondered if her age would make her a little more receptive towards a super. Probably not though, since this was the agency that fought to suppress them. Most people who worked here had been taught from a young age that fear and hatred were the right emotions when dealing with a super.

Albino. That could be a plus. It would automatically turn people's attention to her, allowing Alexander to work from the shadows as he did best. And with that Ray to be put to use, Alexander guessed a lot of unwilling, unregistered supers would surface. Their department would be busy.

@Kidd
"you're so young." Mom looked at you intensely, trying not to cry. "How could you understand? You're just like him." This time though, she said it with love rather than resentment, as if she was finally accepting just a little that she couldn't stop him.
Sounds interesting. Seems like you're into the same kind of things as I am. I prefer magic (modern day), mutants and sci fi and am all for adventures and quests. I have a set-up for a modern day magic world (more Charmed than those high school teen dramas) and one for sci fi questing (which can include magic and/or lasers if you wish). As said I would be up for a mutant world instead as well.
I can do romance. I have done romance. I don't mind romance if it works with the story but I don't like it as a main plot. I don't mind some days multiple posts and other days barely. I prefer two paragraph posting for story progression and occasional one or few liners during conversation over entire books per post.
Pm me if you think we could find something.
"I know that." Mom shook her head and sniffed, trying to wipe her tears away. "It's just... I never understood that need of adventure. Why do you wnat to risk everything? We've travelled around and it was no picknic. Why do you want to return to that lifr when you have safety here?"
@prussianblue doesn't play a character, does he just play the world?
@prussianblue so when do we get started?
The uprising startled Levan from his train of thoughts. It took him a moment to gather what was going on, but then found everyone's eyes focussed on the man hanging from the side of a building pointing up at the sky. What was that man thinking, shouting those things from such a position? The guards would be on him in seconds, or at least beneath him waiting for him to come down. What was he going to do from up there, wait until they whithered away The rash behaviour of some men baffled the scholar sometimes.

And then the rain came pouring down. Not just a few drops, but like entire buckets being emptied over their heads. Strange. While the weather was not all that great today, a bit on the chilly side, there had been no sign of rain. Yet the man had predicted it -promised it even and now it was pouring.

Could it be? Could that man posess what Levan had been looking for? Could he have an artefact, one that could actually allow the practise of magic? Levan had to find out. But to do that, he would need to get closer to the man, preferably at a time he was not persued by guards.

The scholar looked around and saw that the mob had made way for the guards to approach the building the stranger was hanging from. He decided to move closer, to the front of the line of people. Levan was no hero, though. He preferred to sit back and observe and find a way around all the muckus. That was what he was doing now, observing the situation. If the man was caught, he could probably bribe the guards into letting him interview the man -the right guard at least. Which one would that be? If the man got away, though, Levan would have to find a way to follow him or locate him again. He looked like the type who wouldn't think beyond his own moment of fame, the type who would not have a getaway plan, but Levan had been wrong about those things before.

So he did what he did best and studied what he observed. What did the man look like? What did his surroundings look like? Was there anyone on the ground behaving oddly, suspiciously, like they were about to help him? How was he hanging up there, how could he have gotten up there? So many more questions and it was uncertain which ones would need answering before he could achieve his goals.
@Kidd Me too! I hope we get to start soon! And that it stays a while.
