Carmen Chavana

Name: Carmen Chavana

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Appearance: Carmen stands tall at 5'9", and has a rather toned muscle definition from a few years of practice and training (in prison). Brown hair, brown eyes, pretty face, very Hispanic. During her life in gangland Detroit, she's aquired a few tattoos along her back and shoulders, and a few more in prison as well. Along the back of her shoulders and the top half of her back are that of a Phoenix spreading its wings, and along her lower back are the ashes that it has risen from, the debri of the ashes scattered symmetrically on both sides, both of them forming the constellation of Aries on either side. She also has a few cigarrette burn marks along her arm, as well as a few slash wound scars along her gut and arms from fights with other criminals/prisoners. She also has a long scar along her cheek and temple, as an evaded attempt on her life in prison.

Currently she's wearing an outfit similar to the one above, but is instead wearing a grey NAVY tank-top and Navy camo BDUs.

Personality: Carmen is a relatively intelligent, hard working and brave team player who has the capability of doing great things, but due to being raised under terrible circumstances she has grown to be antisocial, and is often detatched and prefers to stay away from other folks. Due to her run-ins with the police, as well as being imprisoned for what she calls "doing society a favor", she has a strong dislike towards authority, and will often not cooperate with rules or authority figures she sees as unreasonable (she's not stupid, so she will cooperate with rules that are common sense).

Often times in social situations, she would first be anti-social to entire groups, but when talking to one person and one person only, it's much easier to talk to her and befriend her. However, trust is earned with her, and she often doesn't hang around people until she deems them "worthy" of her trust. When it comes to situations that aren't social, like emergencies, she's normally the first one to the scene, and she will do her best to save that person/quell the threat. She's very heroic in that regard, and is normally the person who would step up to the plate during desperate situations.

She's also a smartass so expect a few snarky comments here and there. She's also open to the idea of having a boyfriend, and even though she tries to deny it, she's open to having a girlfriend as well.

History: Carmen Chavana was born under Rosa Chavana and Paco Gamero, who returned from Navy service onboard the USS Constellation shortly before her birth. When Carmen was 2 years old, Paco, who was still in a relationship with Rosa at the time, moved with his girlfriend and daughter to Detroit, as he had a cousin that worked as a second-hand manager of the General Motors Assembly plant. There, for most of her life, she grew up in Detroit. However, when she was 7, the relationship between her parents was getting strained, and from then she grew up under a drunk mother and an abusive father. Due to the nature of her family and the abuse that her mother and Carmen herself experienced from her father, she remained rather secluded and never did much at home other than read, and wish to go sail away from the world.

Her mother left Paco when Carmen was 12, though when they moved they moved into a small hispanic ghetto, where Rosa was able to easily purchase illegal drugs from one of the gangs that dominated the neighboorhood, as well as get "protection" in exchange, for... well... "services". Carmen, who was going to school (a rather terribly funded one at that), heard about the various gangs that ruled the area, and heard about all of the cool stuff about them that her peers talked to her about. Wanting a better life for herself, she ran away from home and hung out with one of the local hisspanic gangs that ruled the area. She was thrown into her first fight, where she had to prove her worth to the gang by fighting one of its biggest members. She was able to dodge most of the man's punches and throw some of her own, and even though he didn't go down that easily, the other members were impressed and recruited her into the gang, seeing how useful she was.

From that point on, she has grown up under a false family, though some of the gang members did treat her with the love and respect of other siblings. However, when she was older, she went on a crime spree with other members, robbing stores and rival gangs. She was never caught by the police, and never identified by any of her victims. However, it wasn't until she was 17 that she found out about a child molester living in her neighboorhood, and after finding horrifying evidence when robbing his home of such acts, she murdered the man responsible when he returned home, and protected children he kidnapped until the police arrived. Due to being responsible for the murder, she was arrested and imprisoned, but was given a short sentence given the circumstances. Her sentence lasted for four years, and in that time she learned to be tougher, stronger, and studied.

Carmen was released from prison when she turned 21 after a few transfers and good behavior, and is now on parole. Hearing about the US Naval Academy from a local recruiter, she decided to go there in hopes of starting her life over as a good woman, and to atone for her sins in the past. As part of her life mission, she had the tattoo of the Pheonix and Aries ash debri marks done in order to symbolize that she has risen from the ashes, born as a new, free bird. However, while sleeping at a motel one night when making the trip to the academy, she woke up in the locked room.

Castaway, but with your OCs! Who's in?

In a world where planes crash for no damn reason, in a world very much like our own, and very much like Hollywood's... a commercial cargo plane carrying all kinds of heavy materials has crashed into an uncharted island somewhere in the south pacific, when en route to Australia. Most of the cargo was left intact, but unfortunately the pilots were killed, and some of the crew was lost when the plane fell from the sky. Only few crew members survived, but they don't know what happened, or what caused the plane to go down. The radios and transmitters onboard the plane no longer work, and they stopped working long before the crash. It's almost as if they disappeared off the map. What brought down the plane? Was there a bomb onboard the plane, or was it shot down by a belligerent patrol boat? Was there a simple mechanical issue, or was there a fire that caused the plane to go down? What's in the cargo? Will anyone make this out alive before Search and Rescue arrives? No one will ever know...

The idea of this RP is simple, which is to develop characters and their relationships during times of crisis. This is more of a story and character driven RP, and when done right, it could make for a Triple-A screenplay that could make millions at the box office. However, I just wanna make sure that those who might be playing in this is actually interested in the idea at all. Otherwise I might not even start it. The story itself isn't exactly fixed, as the twists and turns really depend on the actions of the characters involved.

The characters will be the various crew that was originally assigned to the plane, as well as a few passengers that are onboard the plane to handle special merchandise. I will be playing an NPC or two to help guide the RP along though, as well as the SAR elements (if the players do well enough). The characters don't have to be realistic, though if not the situation would be more crazy and less serious. XD

This is my first time doing an interest check (or an RP on this site) but I promise that I have a bit of experience, so please take it a little easy on me! Also the details of this RP can be changed a little if you guys have pretty good suggestions, so please feel free to throw them at me!

Fun fact: this was the first RP that I ever tried to do in earnest when I first RP'd online years ago.

@lovely complex Thanks! I just added a few things, mainly that she tries to stay out of the whole "fire" drama, what she wears (typically US Navy stuff, she loves the Navy), a few traits (such as sometimes breaking into speaking Spanish when mad), as well as the fact that she sometimes carries a butterfly knife with her, and keeps a .45 pistol stashed somewhere among her stuff (and only carries it when a very serious need arises, she recognizes how deadly firearms can be and treats them with respect, as she has murdered a man with one before). If there's a range at the place, she might bring her gun and knife there for practice. - After looking over the characters, I think it would make much more sense if she carried both her knife and .45 concealed in her trousers/jacket when she wears 'em. XD

@Angel Eyes Hehe, that's cool! :D But yeah that's Carmen in a way. Even though the gangsters she grew up with were criminals, she did gain a sense of loyalty, family and having each other's backs from them.
