@Gilgex No, it's the same police chase that the others are involved in. They're under the impression that the supply vehicle that they were supposed to intercept is what the cops are currently chasing. And thanks! I came up with that one off the top of my head. XD
Jeezus I feel like I'm missing out on all of the action! XD Though I don't mind so much, the Firing Range with Benny right now is really supposed to be an establishing character moment for Carmen (and having her powers witnessed to an easy recall of pages 1 and 2), to show off how her powers work, what her skills are and how her personality reflects off of friends.
Unless... I'm not supposed to be doing that? XD IDK lol
Location; Remote Firing Range Interacting With; Benny - @Hippocamp | James via Text - @FacePunch | Gianna via Text - @lovely complex Mood; Elated → Depressed → Happy to be among friends
"Si!" Carmen replied with a grin to Benny's remark as she drove. As she drove down the road at almost breakneck speeds, she heard Benny about the flying targets... she thought about that. "Fuck yeah. The real question is, do you have enough?" She asked with a smirk, looking to him before looking back to the raod, soon performing the drift onto the dirt road. "Malts? Alrighty." She said as she calmly drove through the forest. "The gas station down the road serves 'em, right? I've always been getting myself Gatorade and Icees from there. Always regret that, get nothing but watery ice and brainfreezes after that." She said with a chuckle as she drove down the road. After she parked at the range, she looked to him and accepted the headphones. She put them on briefly to see if they fit. They do, and she took them off for a moment so she could listen to her friend.
Once he pulled out the drone, her eyes went wide briefly. "Woah, that!?" She laughed. Hearing that it bleeds rainbows, she laughed even harder, almost laughing in sync with his evil laugh. "Wow... that's like... the most craziest awesome thing I've heard all week!" She said with a chuckle, looking to him. "Get more paintballs... I'm gonna show you that I can make it bleed, but I'm not gonna make the thing come down." She said with a grin, telling him that she was gonna shoot the paintballs without shooting down the drone, which is a difficult task in of itself. Not for Carmen, however. "C'mon, lets put that on the table before one of the rotors gives me another scar on my arm." She joked before heading out the car.
After taking a few magazines for her FNX-45, some target ammunition for it and a whole lot of paper and tape for the manniquins, she put them all on the wooden table near the tree, waiting for Benny to come along. "Go ahead and spawn your favorite gun. I wanna show you a few pointers on how to properly be an armed villain." She said with a smile. After she said that, she felt her phone vibrate. She quickly took it out, and read James' text. She chuckled a little and began typing.
To: Spiderman LOL! Trust me I would say the same thing, but I'm her roommate! lol Sure thing. We're gonna head to the gas station up north of here in like an hour or so, my friend wants some Malts so we're gonna get some. You can meet us there if you'd like. Otherwise we can play pool up in the Rec Room if you're up for getting your ass kicked again. ;)
She chuckled before hitting 'send', pocketing her phone. She pondered about who else she could talk to while she was out here, so she can have a proper idea of what's going on in the school, while she and Benny were a little ways up north. She then wondered if Gianna was open for conversation, she hadn't heard from her in a little.
To: Jessica Alba Reference Hey~ Haven't heard from you in a little. What's poppin'?
She gave a soft blush before hitting 'send'. While she did indeed have a crush on Spiderman, for the past week or so she's been getting the vibe that James was much more interested in Snow White instead. She didn't hold it against him, though, she was quite hot. Like Gianna... no, Carmen, these are bad thoughts. That's not normal. You shouldn't be attracted to other women, if you are, you're a fag, and you will be ostracized from what little friends you have left.
Carmen sighed before looking to Benny with a soft smile on her face, still bothered by those self-degrading thoughts. "So... you wanna go first with the lessons, or shall I go first with my timed run? Or... we can try to make the drone Taste The Rainbow." She asked him, the lessons being what she referenced earlier, and the timed runs being the runs she made through the little gun course she set up through the forest, testing her abilities to aim fast, shoot fast and reload fast. "Whatever you wanna do, it's up to you."
A black Dodge Charger rested in the streets, sitting amongst many other cars in the parking lot. The vehicle itself almost looked like an unmarked police car, but instead it belonged to the two contractors sitting inside of it. A smoking hot latina badass sat in the driver's seat, wearing only her black jacket over her grey NAVY t-shirt, wearing black pants, looking around with sunglasses on. Beside her was a ripped black man, one who was pretty handsome himself as well. He was wearing a similar outfit, but wore a black shirt and dark grey camo combat trousers. Both of them were Carmen and Kevante respectively, contractors who've served together in both the US Navy Special Forces and in prison before that. Both of them have been good friends for quite a while, and both of them have come to rely on each other for support, whether it would be fire support or friendly support.
Both of them were looking around, bored out of their minds. "When the f*ck is it gonna come? C*ger el c*lo, hombre! Dios mío!" Carmen sighed, exasperated.
"Hey, chill out." Kevante said, looking at his cell phone, keeping up to date on the latest news on Facebook. "We've still got ten minutes until the expected time anyway."
"Yeah but we've been here for like an hour." Carmen groaned. "I swear, this is beginning to be no different than Syria, man. At least there, the Kurds kept us entertained."
"I see what you mean, don't sweat it though. This is just the boring part of it, we'll catch a break." Kevante said.
Carmen perked up, her enhanced senses picking up the police sirens from afar. "Do you hear that?"
Kevante looked around. "Hear what? The sirens? That's just another-"
"Sshh!" Carmen hushed him. "They're heading right this way." She looked in the rearview mirror. Far behind them, she could see police lights going crazy. "Do you think this is the shipment that we've been tasked to intercept?"
"There's only one way to find out." Kevante said. "C'mon... lets trail behind and wait until they crash. Wanna do the FBI trick when we get there?"
"Hell yeah, buddy!" Carmen smirked, leaning in and giving Kevante a fist bump. "This better be the f*cking shipment, I swear to f*cking Christ..." She said, starting the car up and buckling her seatbelt. Carmen looked in the rearview mirror. "Call it in to our client, so they won't stiff us and yell at us just in case if we made a mistake." Carmen said, to which Kevante nodded and complied. Carmen waited there, looking in the rearview mirror, seeing the convoy of cop cars trailing behind a vehicle, a suspicious looking vehicle... before the entire chase passed by them at high speed. Almost immediately, Carmen put the car into gear and sped off from the parking space, trailing behind the police chase.
Dr. Chaos was hard at work to test one of his theories, yet again. Hidden in a lab deep somewhere in The Hood of Threaft, Dr. Chaos smiled as he looked upon his laboratory setup. By no means was it a futuristic or even a clean one, it was just a massive workstation with lots of wooden tables, desks, chairs and cleanly assembled workbenches. It certainly looked like an evil low-budget lab, but while it looked low-budget, it certainly wasn't. Dr. Chaos not all of the best tools and equipment have to look pleasing, that was just an excuse for companies to overly price their products. Nope! Dr. Chaos built them himself, manufactured equipment has a tendency to be somewhat defective, a-and it takes too long to get a replacement when you can fix your own equipment on the spot... a-and when... when replacements take too long to arrive in the mail... this halts the progress of SCIENCE!!!
Dr. Chaos chucked to himself, looking inside of a small storage unit, a plastic one containing a chick. "Heheheh-hee-hoo-hah-hee-heh! I have finally created the greatest creation of all time! And by that I mean the 1,523rd greatest creation of all time! MWAHAHAHA!!" He laughed maniacally while the chick chirped a little. "Now, my little creature, you must show your true potential, as a feat of excellent and self-aware mad SCIENCE!!!" He called out. "Hahahaha!" He laughed. "Now... walk out and bask in your greatness, for you are THUNDERCHICK!!!" He called out, opening the container and letting the chick walk out onto the workbench.
The chick walked out casually, minding its own business, walking out onto the workbench. It briefly looked to Dr. Chaos before looking to its surroundings.
"Yesss... yess..." Dr. Chaos shuffled his hands. "Bask in your greatness, young creature... for you are a creature born of great POWAHHH!!!" He shouted. "Now... let's see how you fair!" He said, leaning towards the small infant chicken on the workbench.
Pointing his index finger at it and slowly trying to poke it, he made a soft poke at the chick, and he was zapped by a small jolt of electricity. A harmless jolt, really.
"WOAH... this is unbelievable! You have such capabilities... capabilities to be AWESOME!!! HAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!" He laughed before stopping himself. "Wait... hang on..." He looked around. "Where's my thunder button..." He then pulled a small remote control out from his pocket, and then pressed a button on it, activating the theatric thunder special effects that he had installed around his lab. "MWAHAHAHAHHH!!!" He laughed maniacally as the thunder crashed around him.
Alliances: Anyone neutral or good-aligned who's willing to give her a large check
Enemies: Anyone evil-aligned (especially terrorists, murderers and rapists)
Alignment: Anti-Hero, Chaotic Neutral
Occupation: Ex-Special Forces Private Contractor
Powers: - Insane Reflexes - Can slow time for herself, and uses this to dodge blows, place headshots and drive in bad traffic Jason Statham style. - Enhanced Senses - Comes with the ability of fast reflexes, she can detect threats before most people can, and can listen in on conversations from a distance.
Weapons: - FNX-45 Tactical Pistol, .45 ACP - Her favorite and preferred sidearm. Uses it with all kinds of ammunition, including lethal and nonlethal rounds. - Remington R5 RGP Assault Rifle, 5.56mm NATO - Her preferred assault rifle when facing off against more trained and more dangerous units. Often has many accessories for various uses. - Butterfly Knife - A simple butterknife she normally uses for intimidation and as a stress object.
Skills: - Improbable Gun Skills - Fast reloads, constant aim-bot like headshots (due to fast reflexes). - Improbable Fighting Skills - Can dodge a whole lot of thrown punches, and throw accurate hits of her own. - Improbable Driving Skills - She can drive like Jason Statham, able to use her reflexes to drive defensively and offensively, able to weave through traffic and evade pursuers.
Weaknesses: - Just as human as anyone else, she cannot dodge bullets or any other fast-moving projectiles. - Cannot dodge blows thrown from her from extremely close quarters (as she can only move out of the way so much before she's hit). - Would not shoot noncombatants (though hostage takers who have their head on display will still not live for very long). - Still soft and squishy enough to kill if grabbed and thrown, hence when on-duty she normally wears armor under her jacket.
Personality and Origins: Carmen Chavana is a wise-cracking snarky smartass who works as a contractor, whether it would on her own or with friends. In short, she's the type of person who would rescue someone from a fire, but steal their valuables and shoot the arsonist in the process. She's a very empathetic and caring person towards friends, and those who aren't in the game, but she has no qualms of killing an offending party, especially those who already qualify for a death sentence in almost any western civilization. While she's also brave and smart, she's also very anti-social, and prefers to be alone, or with at least one or two other people she could trust with her life. While she's made friends in a school she used to go to with other people who had super powers, she hasn't kept in touch with them after she went to Syria to fight alongside Kurdish militants against terrorists. She's also not the type to start fights, normally keeping a calm persona about her (despite cursing in spanish many times when she's mad), and never drawing her weapons or using force unless she really has to (normally in order to end the conflict as swiftly as possible). However, due to her past life as a felon, and her service in Syria, she's had a strong distrust of governments and figures of authority (the military doesn't count in her mind, she sees them as a good tool being used for the wrong problems). So while she's willing to cooperate with authority figures who have common sense, decently and will listen to any of her terms, she will not hesitate the beat the shit out of a politician or a cop who's sold out the people in favor of money or a criminal element.
Carmen Chavana was born under Rosa Chavana and Paco Gamero, who returned from Navy service onboard the USS Constellation shortly before her birth. When Carmen was 2 years old, Paco, who was still in a relationship with Rosa at the time, moved with his girlfriend and daughter to New York, as he had a friend that worked at the Trump Tower in New York City, offering him a high-paying job there. There, for most of her life, she grew up in New York City. However, when she was 7, the relationship between her parents was getting strained after her father was demoted, and from then she grew up under a drunk mother and an abusive father. Due to the nature of her family and the abuse that her mother and Carmen herself experienced from her father, she remained rather secluded and never had a chance to experience her powers (other than some instances of dodging her father's blows in some moments of slow motion, but she thought that was normal and told no one about that).
Her mother left Paco when Carmen was 12, though when they moved they moved into a small hispanic ghetto in the suburbs of NYC, where Rosa was able to easily purchase illegal drugs from one of the gangs that dominated the neighboorhood, as well as get "protection" in exchange, for... well... "services". Carmen, who was going to school (a rather terribly funded one at that), heard about the various gangs that ruled the area, and heard about all of the cool stuff about them that her peers talked to her about. Wanting a better life for herself, she ran away from home and hung out with one of the local hispanic gangs that ruled the area. She was thrown into her first fight, where she had to prove her worth to the gang by fighting one of its biggest members. This is when she first learned about how special her ability was, and how she could use its advantages. Using her quick reflexes, she was able to dodge most of the man's punches and throw some of her own, and even though he didn't go down that easily, the other members were impressed and recruited her into the gang, seeing how useful she was.
From that point on, she has grown up under a false family, though some of the gang members did treat her with the love and respect of other siblings. However, when she was older, she went on a crime spree with other members, robbing stores and rival gangs. She was never caught by the police, and never identified by any of her victims. However, it wasn't until she was 17 that she found out about a child molester living in her neighboorhood, and after finding horrifying evidence when robbing his home of such acts, she murdered the man responsible when he returned home, and protected children he kidnapped until the police arrived. When the police arrived, she surrendered peacefully to them, and she was arrested and imprisoned as a result. This was her first (and since then her last) kill, and when she took the shot, she never regretted doing that since. She was given a short sentence given the circumstances. Her sentence lasted for four years, and in that time she learned to be tougher, stronger, and studied.
Carmen was released from prison when she turned 21 after a few transfers and good behavior. She was originally on parole, but with some connections she was able to let the cops turn a blind eye to her. Hearing about a certain school that helps teach their students how to keep in touch with themselves and their powers, she went there as a life mission to improve herself. As part of her life mission, she had the tattoo of the Pheonix and Aries ash debri marks done in order to symbolize that she has risen from the ashes, born as a new, free bird. After attending school, however, she travelled to Syria to fight alongside the YPG militias against various threats in the area, mainly to do both humanitarian work and to fight terrorists. She was with the YPG for at least six months, and she returned home with a whole lot of stories, experience, and some perspective. As of now, she's working as a private contractor who's willing to arrest thieves, kill hitmen, kidnap crooked cops and rescue hostages.
Looks: Carmen stands tall at 5'9", and has a rather toned muscle definition from a few years of practice and training (in prison). Brown hair, brown eyes, pretty face, very Hispanic. After she was released from prison, she's aquired a few tattoos along her back and shoulders, and a few more in prison as well. Along the back of her shoulders and the top half of her back are that of a Phoenix spreading its wings, and along her lower back are the ashes that it has risen from, the debri of the ashes scattered symmetrically on both sides, both of them forming the constellation of Aries on either side. She also has a few cigarrette burn marks along her arm, as well as a few slash wound scars along her gut and arms from fights with other criminals/prisoners. She also has a long scar along her cheek and temple, as an evaded attempt on her life in prison. She even has a few scars of bullet wounds from the various weapons terrorists fired at her during her tour of duty in Syria.
As for her clothing, she generally wears a tank top (typically white) or a T-shirt (typically with the flat black NAVY decal on it), and as for bottoms she either wears short jean shorts (in casual settings) or Navy BDU trousers (anytime else). Often times, she wears a small black leather jacket over it all in order to hide her conceal-carried .45 shoulder holster, but when on operations, she often forgoes the jacket for a black tactical vest with armor plates in it.
Other: She is also in possession of a sleek black 2003 Ford MustangSVT Cobra Convertible that she's been working on shortly after she joined the hispanic crime gang in her neighboorhood. The few friends she had left after she left prison kept the vehicle and improved it while she was incarcerated, bringing it to her after she was released. She will be seen working on it during her free time from time to time, and has made it into quite a getaway car, having it accelerate in a hearbeat and reach 180 MPH. This is also where she stores a whole lot of her contraband (guns, drugs, other stuff), but all in a hidden area where they aren't easy to find. She also often travels with a friend named Kevante Covington, who's a non-superpowered fellow who was friends with her in prison. While she went to go fight with the YPG, he's been doing contract work on his own, establishing contacts and earning enough money to hold up on his own. He's a skilled fighter, and can hold his own against most other armed hostiles.

He makes plenty of jokes, though plenty of times he doesn't even make any sense. He has the understanding of genius, and even though he knows he's one of the smartest humans on the planet and he brags about it quite often, he isn't the type to look down on people for their shortcomings, as he's aware of them and he wants people to embrace them, like how he embraces his own madness. Deep down he could be a very caring and loveable individual, and sometimes he would go out of his way to help people out when he feels like it. However, there's no stopping him from taking criminals from around his neighboorhood and using them as test subjects for his mad experiments! Almost everything he does he claims it's for SCIENCE!!! but in actuality, depending on his experiments and actions, some of them have underlying motives. Either he wants to help his friends or try to be good for once in his life (he has to take a break from being evil every now and then, every villain's gotta do that once in a while XD) but also times he likes to help himself to his own desires and do things for the sake of doing them. However, 90% of the time, he has no clue why he even performs the experiments. He just does them. And he enjoys it. Immensly. It's just so... STIMULATING!!!
No one knows where Dr. Klaus Brevil came from, many people think that he came from a family history of scientists from Nazi Germany. However, he has made hints to Carmen that he may have actually lived during that time, but he never has elaborated, and Carmen's dismissed that as nonsense. Either way, he's a mad scientist who has mad money from all of the contracts he's gotten from shady businessmen (who now sell stuff that gets recalled all of the time, one particular donor of Klaus is the infamous Martin Shkreli). For the longest time, he's been holed up under an abandoned building, a building that was once a warehouse for an industrial yard.
Other: He owns a secret lab in the basement of an abandoned building out in the run-down suburbs of the gangland areas. He often hires his friend and associate Carmen to keep a lookout for him, and to protect his identity and location. When he's in trouble, Carmen's who he calls to take care of the threat.
