Bio

New roleplay: https://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/189457-the-eye-of-the-needle-where-fantasy-and-sci-fi-collide/ooc

Hey, I'm Catharyn! I joined the Roleplayer Guild on 2nd Feb 2011, then rejoined on the 17th Jan 2014 after Guildfall.

I was active every day until late 2015, accruing (i think) around 7k posts across dozens of roleplays. Then, I started working and had to gradually slow down my RP schedule. In 2017, I officially went on hiatus when other commitments got fully in the way of roleplaying.

This continued until the COVID-19 pandemic hit, when I suddenly realised I had a lot more free time in lockdown! So in mid-2020, I returned to the Guild with a vengeance. I also managed to get The Cradle 1x1 off the ground - a story i've had percolating for almost a decade.

My posting schedule has slowed down a bit now that the world has opened up again. I still love science fiction, fantasy and espionage themes, and generally aim for around 300 words per post.

Any luck with the Tindrel picture? Also, do you have any previously established lore for them asides from the slavery and planet-glassing? Methods of communication, pre-slavery levels of development, etcetera, etcetera?

No, unfortunately. :( I'm on the verge of finding a totally new concept for them. Yesh i do have a lot of stuff on the Tindrel, most of it fresh out of the oven. I'll give you the full run down after my home meeting.
I like the APC, nice work! This vehicles are very consistent with the image; make sure though that you're adding all this information to the Order's faction page so that it is in turn linked to the OP.
You CERTAINLY wouldn't want one of those Templar VTOL gunships rocking up and landing in your backgarden, or even worse circling and blowing all the windows out with the chaingun.

Actually I prefer this method. Nice call Faded.

It would certainly make sense. Names come last, i'll just get the skelly up first.

Suggestion: Chupathingy.

Chupacabre? Is that how you spell it?
My hesitation with naming the vehicles after Earth animals is the issue that Outremer is a long way from Earth. It's also way into the future, so certain animals from Earth may have died out or never been heard of by the colonists. :( We should probably go for another naming scheme.

I think Elephant would be a better name, since it's large and stompy.

That is a good name too! It does have very specific connotations for me however...

Sidewinder is a nickname for a type of desert snake that moves across the sand by a sort of s shaped slide that goes sideways hence the name

Oooh, interesting! I didn't know that before, nice!
No, they stand on four legs (think table legs) and have a long thin upright body with four long arms ending in spindly fingers. I will find it if it kills me. That's an interesting piece of concept art though!
I thought of Camel too! Why'd you say Sidewinder? Out of interest, it's a good name.
