Name ► Sazel Zivrik
Age ► 16
Gender ► Female
Level/Tier ► Adept, Tier I
House ► Bestia
Appearance/AttireShe is a short, 1.63m tall, girl with pale skin, greyish brown hair and orange eyes. She might look thin but the active lifestyle has made her decently fit, still, she has typical noble-house delicate features, even if she couldn't be further from that. Her hair is never combed, always in a fluffy messy state, she tries to keep it short but often cuts it unevenly.
She has 'use whatever I have' attitude. Barely being able to tell the difference between fancy and rough, overdressed and nude.
Usually, she is seen wearing a wooly poncho (black on green, matching the color of the environment, for example, dark to match the night and the halls of L'Mordryn) along with a clashing mix of simple and fancy clothes and many accessories, all styled after her home region. Many of her clothes and accessories seem to be expensive but are often unkempt, if not torn.
Alignment ► Hellion (Chaotic Impure)
Personality/HabitsIf you meet Sazel, you will likely know this is a girl from Bestia at first glance, she is at home in the wilds, with messy clothes, an energetic disposition, a practical mindset, unphased by situations and creatures many would call strange, filthy or dangerous, and often uncaring about society's standards, to the point of not even rebelling against them, simply living parallel to it. One day she might act like a tomboy and the other day she is weirdly ladylike, she doesn't care about picking sides, about philosophies or about societal change, she cares about herself and lives each day as its own.
Things that are not of her interest are dealt with apathy and laziness, which gives the impression of an untalented person, however, when pressed on her obligations, she often manages to persevere through the tasks, though how can range from half-assing just enough, tricks such as knowing what sorts of answers the teacher like, or to some actual and exceptional effort. Some teachers wondered if the girl was an erratic genius, but that overstates her skills and downplays how much of it is her own fault, Sazel is better described as a gifted slacker.
She becomes an entirely different girl when something catches her attention, showing anything but lethargy towards the topic. She is smart enough to excel what she likes but often has issues overthinking, planning too far ahead, missing the point and being overwhelmed. It ends up being quite ironic, in matters she is apathetic about Sazel is able to pinpoint the three books that are relevant to the issue, but if the subject is something she likes she instead tries to read hundreds of books and worries too much about missing information.
She is genuinely friendly, but it has to be said she is a trickster who sees no problem in playing out of the rules if she feels like it, its eat or be eaten out there so any advantage is nice, so cheating, playing on people's psychology and lies are not out of her arsenal of actions. If she is caught or outplayed, she won't be bitter about it but instead even think of the other person as witty and respectable. That said, this doesn't mean she goes down easily, on the contrary, she has strong willpower and even if victory is impossible she will aim to lessen her defeat and last as long as she can, thinking along the lines of 'in a world of eat or be eaten, if you can't be at the top you should aim to give the other side the indigestion of a lifetime.'
BackgroundOne might be surprised to hear this, but Sazel was not born in some forest village at the borders of civilization but instead was born to a minor noble family, which is the source of the nicer clothes she wears sometimes in the academy and many of her mannerisms.
Her family is from an old and traditional country and is about as old as it, in the past they were somewhat relevant, with many decent summoners in all the arts the locals didn't consider to be peasant magic, which was basically everything but Bestia. Though in the last century and a half, things took a turn: The last Machina to share Sazel's surname died selling trinkets on the street, the last Phantasma didn't even graduate after burning one too many eyebrows belonging to teachers and the last Dracona made the mistake of summoning more than what she could chew, an issue the dragon didn't share.
As such Sazel was not expected to be a mage or pressured into it, she grew initially like any normal sheltered noble child, expect to take an administrative role and enrolled in costly prestigious schools. In such institutions Sazel was an enigma, she spent most of her time alone, always looked bored in classes and failed every test until the last one, when she would miraculously ace a test or carry a whole group project on her back. She was eccentric, but still a normal girl.
Then her dreams started. She would see herself floating across realms unlike her own, where she would meet countless curious beasts, and although many would chase or attack her, the dreams always felt pleasant and not like nightmares. To her parents, the result was that all of sudden their delicate and lazy daughter had started adventuring into the gardens of the state, to chase the ducks and horses around, to go into the nearby village to visit its farms and to arrive home all covered in mud, yet smiling.
As a traditional family of a traditional region, it took them some time to fully accept her situation, it was a constant fight between their desire to be rigorous and the fear they would curb the potential of the girl who was for once interested in something. Since she was still a nice child who was not particularly rebellious, any censorship of her behavior felt unwarranted.
Ultimately they had to accept the facts, a Bestian summoner was problematic but more useful than yet another unremarkable frontier noble, furthermore, Sazel was growing wilder and wiser about the world and the other realms, if she was to lean Ars Invocato, it was best that she did it like a proper lady among the safety and experience of the L'Mordryn, not reading second-hand manuscripts or chasing the words of hermits from the woods.
