The Firefly Maiden

The shrine maiden blinked at him in mild surprise. His excitement seemed over the top, but maybe it was just Hotaru being very apathetic about everything. "It's really not much of a problem. I'm not really doing anything special... And please, call me Hotaru. 'Miss' is too formal..." Hotaru gave another weak little grin. "If you really feel like you need to do something, I'm sure Inugami will appreciate the help with the housework... Once he gets used to you." The brunette muttered the last part with an uncertain mumble, lifting up Juju into a proper setting in her arms as if he were a little teddy bear, he in turn taking the shopping bags from her hand so she wouldn't have to carry them any longer.

"The shrine is just a little ways from here. Juju's leaves can't carry two people." The girl explained, as if it were common knowledge about shape shifting leaves and tanuki's powers, which in this world it really was, before starting off towards the shrine.

The shrine stood atop a small grassy hill, the blades well trimmed and unbelievably green. It was surrounded by equally fantastic oak trees that led all the way down the grey stone stairs which made the path to the entrance. The shrine itself seemed well kept, everything freshly painted and cleaned in that warm inviting way of a home. Outside, pink daisies swayed gently in the spring breeze on their bushes, adding more color to the already bright place. A red torii gate stood firmly in its earth, the friendly blades of grass coinciding with the beams, as white paper talismans of peace, luck, and purity hung from the top banister and fluttered along silently in the wind with the daisies in synchronized harmony. It seemed everything was at peace.

Juju hopped from Hotaru's arms and onto the smooth cool grey stone of the entrance pathway once they were up the stairs, looking about with complete confusion. "What? Why is it so quiet? I swear, Master Inugami and Master Nure were fighting just a few minutes ago before I left!"

Hotaru pursed her lips. "Hm... Maybe they made up?"

Just as the hopeful syllables left her mouth, a deep voice erupted from within the household.

"YOU STUPID SNAKE!"

With a blur, a figure with long blonde hair flew through the wooden wall of the shrine with such ease it would be mistaken as nothing but a paper screen. The tanuki and the maiden sighed with empathy to each other's disappointment.

Out came a man, or rather a wolf spirit in the shape of a man with ears and tail, clad in an old fashioned light gray hakama with a matching darker colored haori over his upper half. Over this, a white apron and a white maid's bandana on his head, a wooden spoon gripped so tightly in his left hand it was a surprise it wasn't already in splinters. The fuzzy black ears were pinned back in aggression, his tail following suit as a bare clawed foot slammed down into the side of the fallen figure's face.

"OF EVERYTHING YOU COULD HAVE EATEN, WHY THE ONIGIRI?! I TOLD YOU I MADE THOSE SPECIFICALLY FOR THE LADY FOR WHEN SHE RETURNED, AND AS I COME BACK TO SEE IF THEY ARE READY, ALL I FIND IS A FEW GRAINS OF RICE?! I SHOULD STEW YOU INSTEAD, YOU MINDLESS SERPENT!"
The blonde figure, not even attempting to fight back, groaned under the weight of the wolf's foot. "Well you never make me any food! What else was I supposed to eat?! I'm starving!" The whiny male voice cried, muffled under the dark haired man's brutal attack.
"I DONT HAVE TO COOK FOR A STUPID NEET!"

Hotaru, seeming to have enough of this, held out her hand as a golden flame appeared, beautiful as it shone in her palm. "Would you two quit it?!" She threw the ball of fire at the two, the wolf being apt enough to make a hasty side step to avoid the scorching attack, while the other man had just stood and was now hit full force by the flame. The fire slowly caught his shirt, creeping up slowly from his side towards his shoulders and neck.

"Huh...? Ow... OWOWOW! HOT! VERY HOT! OW!" The male ran into the house, most likely to find something to put out the fire.

The wolf spirit tucked his hands peacefully into the long sleeves of his coat, approaching Hotaru and bowing slightly. "My lady, welcome home." The dark haired male straightened, crystal blue eyes softened and calm. "I apologize for the wall. I will have it fixed after I prepare a new lunch for you. The previous one had been eaten by a certain pest so I will make you whatever you like." The icy eyes turned to Wolfram, lips thinning in a mix of interest and wariness.

The shrine maiden let out another sigh. "It's fine, Inugami, I'm not really hungry anyway." Hotaru followed his eyes to the priest. "Inugami, this is a visiting priest from another district, Wolfram. Wolfram, this is my shrine spirit, Inugami. Wolfram will be staying here for a while until his visit is over."

The wolf ears flicked in distrust immediately, eyes narrowing. "...nice to meet you."

Seemingly out of nowhere, a familiar blur of shiny blonde hair slammed into Hotaru, two arms reaching out to squeeze her in a tight hug. "Oh, Hotaru, my darling! Welcome home, I missed you so-AGH!" A foot slammed into the blonde's face, shooting him a few feet away and forcing him to face plant into the earth, leaving a rut to follow the entire distance.

Juju held up three claws in the air, similar to a referee. "Three points, KO!"

The blonde who had been kicked sat up and brushed off his face with disgust, Inugami eloquently returning his foot to the ground. The male shot up, pointing an aggravated finger at the wolf. "What the hell, you passive-aggressive mutt?! I didn't do anything wrong!!" The man was quite beautiful, almost to the point of a woman, his hair and skin seeming to be soaked in water. This could be chalked up to him rinsing himself down from the burn, probably...

Inugami cast him a threatening look. "How many times do I have to tell you? You are Lady Hotaru's shikigami. You treat her with respect, and that included calling her by the proper name and not tackling her every time she returns home."
"Oh yeah? Maybe you're just jealous, huh, muttly? Why don't you sit like a good boy?"
"Why don't you return to the filthy lake you came from and stop plaguing this shrine with your uselessness?"
Electricity seemed to crackle between the two.

Hotaru held out a hand to the blonde, seeming indifferent of their squabble, as if it were a regular occurrence. "Wolfram, this is Nure, my second shikigami besides Juju."

At the sound of his name, Nure perked up, grinning broadly in an almost goofy manner as he held out his hand to the priest in a much warmer way of greeting. "Hiya! Wolfram was it? Nice to meet'cha!"

Patty shivered as soon as she exited the place, rubbing at her arms in a vain attempt to coax warmth into her body. "It got frosty out here real quick... Where are those berks?" The woman started to walk down the streets in search of the missing party, the roads unusually quiet.

The blonde giggled innocently, wrapping their arms around Zevrox's waist as they walked, soon nearing their destination.

The boy immediately took on an expression of distaste. "Ehh, I'm not really a spicy food lover." Hige sat down beside him though, smiling up cheerfully. "It smells good though." The cat purred as he opened one of his milk cartons with the joy of a kid in a candy shop. He quickly took it with both hands and started to drink it down with delight. It was emptied within seconds.

Hige glanced up at Einar, milk now cutely decorating his upper lip without notice to its wearer. "Hey, you said before to watch out for people. But you seem really nice. Are you sure the others aren't like you here?" He cocked his head slightly to the side in curiosity.

Power: Absorption- Can absorb any material she touches and her entire body becomes it, from metal to water she can become literally anything. Can also change her arms into weapons such as swords or blades that come from her wrists.
Appearance:

Bio: Lucie had a pretty easy life. She worked for her mother at the family restaurant until one day she almost dropped a cup. She reached for it, and as she grabbed the handle her arm turned to porcelain. A government official was eating there as he was the only one who saw this happen, and Lucie was arrested and taken here. She has major anger issues, but for the most part is pretty harmless and friendly. She just needs to learn her own strength...

Random Ideas: GO!

Ello there!

I have many random rp ideas I come up with, and would love to share them with all you friendly folk out there. I would create them myself, but simply don't have the time, and so I'm "giving them away" to anyone who would like to use the ideas.

It would be awesome if you mentioned me as an inspiration for the rp or what not, but it's not required. I'd also love to join any of these ideas since, you know, they're mine. So hit me up if you'd like me to join or even co-gm!

Disclaimer: Many of these ideas have been influenced by anime, music, pictures or the like but every one of them is from my own mind. If any of these ideas resemble a movie or the like, it is a mere coincidence. I would never put up something and claim it was my own if I knew there was already something like that out there. If one of these ideas does seem to directly copy something else, politely let me know and I will remove it immediately.

1.

"The Seven Schools"

This idea is based in a futuristic setting where there are only seven academies in the entire world. Each academy is known for one element that it excels in, and their students are all geniuses in that one aspect as well. Every five years they hold a fair to rank themselves, but they always fall in the same order (until now.) The Schools are, in order from most recommended to least:

• Superbia, the School of Pride.
  
  • Mascot: Lion
  • Attribute: Light
  • Colors: White and Yellow
  • Talent: Business and Social
  • Details: School of the rich. Only the wealthiest families can get in, or someone with above a 4.0, but it's rare. Most prestigious and well known businessmen come from here and rule the markets. Very rich and socially powerful.
• Cupiditas, the School of Greed
  
  • Mascot: Grizzly
  • Attribute: Darkness
  • Colors: Green and Gold
  • Talent: Medical
  • Details: Geniuses of manipulation. Often overcharge for any medical services because it is so needed. Very intelligent.
• Ira, the School of Wrath
  
  • Mascot: Tiger
  • Attribute: Fire
  • Colors: Red and Black
  • Talent: Athleticism
  • Details: Best athletes all over the globe come here to practice with the best coaches. Incredibly strong.
• Gulam, the School of Gluttony
  
  • Mascot: Bull
  • Attribute: Earth
  • Colors: Dark green and bronze
  • Talent: Law
  • Details: Lawyers, judges, corporate, and the like. Very logical and reasoning.
• Libidine, the School of Lust
  
  • Mascot: Peacock
  • Attribute: Water
  • Colors: Purple and Silver
  • Talent: Entertainment
  • Details: Drama school. School is party oriented and easy going, little class time. Often joked at. Very charming and sociable.
• Invidia, the School of Envy
  
  • Mascot: Bloodhound
  • Attribute: Air
  • Colors: Gray and White
  • Talent: Technology
  • Details: Most basic school, the rejects. Those who couldn't get the higher grades or were poor. Mostly mechanics and engineers. Very fast, physically and mentally, and street smart.

"Shadow Lands"

A story of a group of teens who venture outside the concrete walls of the post-apocalyptic future. Many people such as criminals and the deathly ill are thrown out into "Deadman's Land", a place where black ashes always fall from the sky. Everything is dark and twisted and mutated, but there's a secret behind those walls, a secret that the government keeps hidden. The undesirables are sent into this toxic waste land knowing they'll never return, but what happens to them? Do they really just die? What are those strange hoppy black shadows that wander along the walls at night? Are they really dangerous? That's what the group wants to find out as they sneak into the shadow lands.

"The Orbis Project"

You wake up with eleven other people in a blank white room. Each of you have a name tag, but it's contents are strange. "Libra" "Scorpio" "Virgo"... It goes on like this. No one can remember their true name or identity, and no one knows why they're here. Suddenly, a female electronic voice rings out: "Welcome to the Orbis Project, Zodiacs. You will be participating in multiple tasks to see which one of you has the required capabilities. Please move on to the next room."
What capabilities? Required for what? Who are they? Is this even real? The only way to answer these questions is to move forward...

"Gregory 'Romeo' Thiallson"

-Name: Gregory "Romeo" Thiallson
-Age: 21
-Weapon: Two golden pistols (one shown in image) and a typical swashbuckler sword.
-Skills: Gregory is an exceptional charmer, hence his nickname. He's a real lady's man, sure, but this often gets him in trouble when he's caught flirting with another girl. Greg is also the best shot on the entire ship, and quite possibly one of the best of the area. He can hold his alcohol like a champ, and is not affected by other's attempts to charm him, often saying "Please, sweetheart, I invented that trick~"
-Bio: Gregory originally was a street rat, and had a big sister who took care of him named Emily. Emily died of pneumonia that was left untreated at the age of 12, leaving little 8 year old Gregory alone to fend for himself. Gregory was starving and cold, and about to suffer the same fate as his sister until he found an old gun laying on the ground. There was only one bullet, and he heard a woman about to be robbed and killed by two men. With the last of his strength, he shot both the men down with the single bullet, and collapsed. Gregory was brought to an orphanage by the woman, and was raised there until the age of 18, no one adopting him due to the simple fact he didn't want to get adopted. He was afraid of getting attached.
However, he had been watched by Munir after hearing his heroic story. Gregory was offered a place on the ship, if he could shoot down a man who had stolen from a store. Gregory was about to do so, until he saw the man use the bread he stole to feed his daughter living on the streets with him. Instead of killing him, Gregory handing him a bag of money and a warning, leaving silently. He passed the test, to see where his morals lay, and has been apart of Munir ever since.
-Personality: Gregory, unlike the other pirates on the ship, has little to no morals. It just so happens that his opinions tend to be on the good side, and so he liked their approach to things. Gregory is headstrong and doesn't really like being told what to do, he only does what he wants or feels is right. He's very selfish and cunning, but is truly a real softie. On one occasion he was found bandaging a puppy's broken leg, and threatened to shoot the crew members who called it 'cute.' He's not a bad guy in reality, just a little narcissistic.
