"There is a map of the castle on your computer," Oliver said, pausing and turning around. "My office is on the first floor." One more smile and he was gone, off towards the staircase.
"Fortunate is not the word I would use to describe my condition, ma'am." Oliver said, then he bowed silently and left the room, heading towards the stairs.

"Of course, thank you for telling me. If you're feeling well, I won't ask you to come with me now, but I would like to see you sometime soon to make sure the bone was set right." He smiled again at Desirae and turned back to Violetta.

"I'm afraid mine has been open for quite a bit longer. As long as I can remember, in fact. I have always been able to hear the song's of people's minds, for better or worse. It wasn't long until I learned how to aid those in distress, or hinder those doing the distressing."
"You weren't told?" Oliver asked with a bemused expression. "That's odd, I can't think of anybody besides you who might have requested my presence. Well, that aside, I'm this school's doctor. Evidently it was felt a medical professional was required here, rather than one or two teachers who dabble in healing arts, an opinion I happen to share." He removed his glasses and wiped them on his coat, still talking.

"My name is Oliver Jones."

Glancing over at Desirae, Oliver smiled again. "Yes? What is it dear?"
"You might have been a little harsh with them," A calm, resonant voice said from the other side of the dining hall. Oliver stepped out of the shadows to one side and smiled at Desirae. "If you'll wait here for a second dear, I need to talk to Miss deForest."

Oliver turned back to Violetta, reaching out with his mind instead of talking out loud.

"I'm sure you know how it must be, coming here against your will. All the more for these children, who have been taken from their families and friends. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar, and cause fewer emotional problems as well."

Speaking out loud again, he brought a clipboard out from under his arm. "Anyway, on to my purpose. Were any of the students seriously hurt in the fall, or show any signs of adverse reactions to the atmosphere?"

As long as there are free rooms, this is open
Rules, yes. Complete totalitarianistic restriction on a part of yourself? Clara's not going to follow that, and believe me, she will eventually find ways around it.
not that, the whole "this is a military school, you will not use magic, you will obey all instructions, etc etc". The one thing Clara values in her life is her complete freedom.
I hope the teachers figure out quick that as long as she gets her freedom, Clara will learn anything they want. Otherwise it'd going to be a long four years of butting heads.
Clara shook her head. "I don't particularly care what she thinks of me," She called after the boy, then sighed.

"Whatever, it doesn't matter to me. I'm not letting anybody take away my freedom, not her and not this 'creator'." She picked a direction at random and took off at a run, trying to find a secluded place to lie down.
