A New Breed

Temple turned her head and left the kitchen, having faintly overheard something about the government shutting down the facility, and someone telling them they had to leave. She watched Alex leaving and furrowed her brow. "If they're shutting it down," she said quietly, "why did they leave our doors open? They could easily have kept us locked in and... exterminated us while we were trapped. They could be out there. Waiting to take us by surprise and gun us down."

Eva craned her neck to look around her and take it all in. She was already impressed, but then again, she was easily impressed. She'd really had to contain herself on the flight over here, and now that there were no overly-suspicious security guards she felt a little freer.

the 21 yearold man locked onto the newcomer, "Id leave that sandwhich in there if i were you, Gaurd rolson wouldnt like that" he took a run and steped infront of him "Hello" he had his perminate smile on and was looking deep into hs soul.

"Well then the guards shouldn't have left our doors open, should they?" replied Temple dryly, her voice so soft it almost couldn't be heard.

"I've never met a mermaid before," said Eva with a smile. "We should have a swimming race sometime. I have been itching to get in the water." She stared in wonder as Jack opened the doors using only magic. What an incredible bunch of people, she thought. She adjusted her huge backpack and trotted after Jack, looking forward to whatever free time she'd have to swim.

Having just entered the kitchen, Temple was startled by the sound of yelling. She glanced in Charles direction and looked on in disapproval, but not saying a word, she decided it would be a good idea to just grab some food and leave. Giving Charles a wide berth, she navigated toward the fridge and took out an apple and a ham and cheese sandwich someone had left. Trying not to stare, she edged away to leave. The screaming was much too loud for her.

Eva overheard the conversation about the swimming pool and practically jumped into the air. "Yes!" She looked to Mara and grinned. "Are you a selkie too? The only other one I've met is my mom! She said I might meet others and make friends. You're bleeding, by the way." She drifted toward Mara, despite not even knowing whether the girl was even a selkie, and said, "I'd like a tour."

A New Breed

Standing close (but not too close) to Omni and the gorilla, Temple glanced from Omni to Blair to Alex, her eyes wide and inquisitive. Her expression alone was asking what on earth was happening and why, but looking at people didn't get her any answers. Judging from the ways they looked, they didn't know either, so she hesitantly started to drift away and look for breakfast. Barely audibly, she murmured something about how it was too early for the center to be putting them through something like this.

Confused at Lulu's attitude, Eva drew back slightly. She assumed it must have been part of the whole mythical creature shabang, but it didn't exactly scare her; the girl seemed nice enough. "That's okay!" she said, then turned to look at the others. She stared, very interested, at the reaper with his scythe over his shoulder and grinned, impressed. She'd never been around other mythical beings, and the whole situation was very exciting for her. "Wow, even Death is here. That's so cool.."

Panting a little from the weight of her pack, Eva walked straight toward Lulu and gave her a firm handshake, then did the same with Jack. "Nice to meet you," she said, beaming. "I'm Eva. Are pets allowed here?"

Temple yawned and woke up slowly, then stretched. She glanced at the time and did a double take, then gaped when she saw her door wide open. It's too early for this sort of thing, she thought, scratching her head through her thick curls. She got to her feet and cracked her back, then peeked cautiously out of the door. She shied back inside when a large gorilla ran past her, staring with wide eyes. When she saw the young girl holding on to the animal, she decided to step out and follow them at a safe distance. "What's...going on?" she asked, very softly.
