Oh, @CLIW, how was the ACT? I have to take it sometime soon. But I've been procrastinating.

Everything was pretty good except math!

lol oh shit @cliw, i just realized our characters have like, the same skill set and could fulfill the same roles.

cook nurse buddies
Viola glanced back toward Winter and made her way toward her, her dreadlocks making soft thumps against her back. She had a small fear of the woman, but respected and even liked her. Maybe it was an alpha hierarchy sort of thing. And Rufus? He seemed to feel the same--she was always in agreement with him! The small rodent chittered in greeting just before Viola said, "Good morning. Or whatever it is, it doesn't look like morning. I can't tell. How are you?" She smiled a little bit and hoped she wasn't being too awkward. Self consciously, she reflected on the fact that she must have seemed extremely out of place on a pirate ship.

"I was going to go get some food to cook up once we're back in the air," she continued. "Since you're the main cook around here, I was wondering if there was anything specific you wanted me to look for?"
Agreed.
Melissa came inside, although she was hesitant, especially with that dog right there ready to probably use her windpipe as a chew toy. She glanced around the living room; it appeared pretty nice and well-maintained. Better than hers, anyway. She made sure to put plenty of distance between herself and Brutus, and decided to sit cross-legged on the floor. Deciding uncomfortably that the situation could probably not get anymore awkward or tense, she spoke up a little, her voice cracking.

"So, um...what do you do for a living?"
"Ach! Stop!" The annoyance dripping off Viola's voice changed to laughter as a fluffy tail tickled her shoulder, then her neck, and then her cheek. "Rufus, what is it?" Her eyes fluttered open and the girl rubbed out the gunk that had accumulated in the corners of her eyes during the long nap she'd had to make up for last night. Pleased that she was awake, the squirrel let out a squeaky chitter and leapt down to perch on Viola's shoulder when she sat up.

Only then did the still-sleepy woman realize that the Leviathan had stopped and the air smelled like a mixture of soot and old socks. After a quick glance at Rufus, she decided that he agreed with her extremely accurate conclusion. She coughed softly and stood up, looking out at the city of Ballard. It wasn't the best place to stop, but it was an excellent opportunity to stock up on some supplies--especially fresh food! And maybe some suspicious herbal concoctions, but that was a different story.

Viola stretched, walked down and stepped off the ship. It felt kind of good to be on land again, although the location wasn't exactly perfect. A few crew members were horsing around as usual, but she didn't comment. She was busy mentally planning what to look for first and whether to take her syringe gun. The latter, she decided, was a no. That was just asking for trouble. Her dagger though? That was good common sense.
Back from my test!
The sound of the growling made Melissa jump horribly and clutch at her chest. Damn! So that was Brutus. She immediately moved out of the way when Dimitri arrived; she was impressed by the whistling but meek in his presence. She knew one thing: She definitely didn't want to be anywhere near that door again. "T-that's a pretty damn clever system you've got," she mumbled, her throat a little dry. Her heart rate was still trying to get back to normal after Brutus had startled her. There was a little spark of dread in her when she imagined the hulking monster that must have been waiting behind the door.
It's not so bad, but if you have any questions about it I've been doing this for years, although I stopped for a while and am a little rusty.
Also I gotta say this Xikari I really like your char
why am I feeling so chummy right now? the world may never know

Name: Viola Gordon

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Personality: Viola has an extreme soft spot for animals, will do just about anything to make an animal (especially a small fluffy one) trust her. She doesn’t talk all that much and is pretty introverted, but most people, especially her crewmates, are on her good side by default. She is polite and quick to offer help, even if she isn’t very skilled in whatever she’s offered help with. She feels guilty about the instances in which she kills, which isn’t often, and prefers to knock people out. She loves science.

Weapon of Choice: A bronze hammered dagger because those are cool.

And a
that she rarely uses and almost never carries, unless in an extremely dire situation.

Other: Has a pet gliding squirrel (named Rufus) that wears a spiked leather collar. It’s almost always on her shoulder. She can cook really well, and she's a proficient medic and absolute nerd, especially with chemistry.
Edited. Also@Ellion I have no authority but it looks good to me, and welcome to the guild!
