Look at you posers, having to bang dragons or sell your soul for magic when you could just play a lute for some. Anyways, here's Wonderwall. - Bards
Tall with an average build, he doesn't have as much muscle strength as other, but he uses what he has to his best advantage. He has dirty blonde hair and a fair complexion, smells faintly of sea salt and gunpowder. While both of his eyes are brown, he covers his right eye as its actually a fact eye with a magic replacement.
Skills:
While he is less adapted at Aeronautical Combat in normal conditions, he is a master at fight in the Fog's supernatural and dangerous weather.
Smoothing talking
Has a magical relic called "Black Cat's Eye"
Insane aim (he can make otherwise impossible shots)
Incredible Grace and Agility
Night vision, X-Ray (supposedly), and "Clear Shift" (the ability to see clearly in any weather condition)
Sword Fighting and Adept at hand-to-hand (mostly due to bar fights)
How to grow and care for over a hundred different kinds of plants
History:
Edoric has no idea who or what his parent looked like, having grown up as a child slave on a pirate airship called "Kamula Nights" that made frequent outing to the Fog to raid trading ships. He and the other dozens children were treated like dolls, given very little food, shelter and clothes. Edoric would often have to fight his friends in pit fights the pirates set up. For the longest amount of time, he wondered by no one wanted to help them.
As the years past, Edoric saw the death of many of his fellow slaves; sometimes it was the weather or punishment, sometimes it was by his own hands in the underground fights. One day, after killing six kids in a fight, he broke down and hide in a corner. One of the pirates actually came to comfort him and gave him a book to read. Of course, Edoric didn't trust the man, but in due time, he opened up to him. The man taught him how to read, how to think and unintentionally, how to escape.
When Edoric was 10, he mounted a revolt against the ship's captain with his fellow child slaves and some of the more treacherous crew members. After killing the pirate captain, he took his sword as his own and burnt the airship to ashes, freeing all of those enslaved.
With the help of the older pirates, he and a few of the child who decided to stay with him bought a new, smaller airship to raid trade with, a Kobaya-Class ship called the "Dragon Sail". It seemed the Edoric was born to sail miles above the ground and be a pirate. By the time he was 17, the Dragon Sail had become a leading ship in a small fleet of like-minded pirates and a notorious raiding ship and tales of its crew had been spread far and wide. Although Edoric has been jailed before, he has managed to weasel his way out most of the time.
Weapons:
Front Mounted 20-Pounder Armstrong Gun
Back Mounted Hotchkiss 6-Pounder Quick Firing Cannon
2 Side-mounted .303 Gatling Guns OR
2 Side Mounted 37mm Hotchkiss Revolving Cannons (some ships) OR
2 Side Mounted Flamethrowers OR
2 Side Mounted Tesla Beacons
Eventually, Edoric had been transferred command as pirate by the previous captain, the man who taught Edoric to read, was dying due to wounds he suffered in a battle. That same battle would also claim one of Edoric's eyes. The captain's last gift to Edoric was the Black Cat's Eye which replaced his missing eye. Edoric has since then sold the ship (after stripping it of anything useful) and used the vast funds from raiding and gambling, he bought a Bune-Class merchant airship called the "Iberian Wedding". After heavily modifying it, he renamed it the "Chrysanthemum Throne" and has been pirating ever since, building a notorious reputation for himself with equal parts of awe and infamy with him and his crew that has grown much larger since then. At some point, he had also raised a small pirating fleet in his name consisting of two ship similar to that of his flagship called "Wondering Ronin" and "Red Banner", each with its own biplane resting on launchers. The Bune-Class also has an incredibly efficient weight-to-load ratio, allowing it to carry tons of stuff without its speed reducing. There are also over a dozen smaller ships similar to that of the "Dragon Sail" he once crewed in his youth.
Weapons (Bombs not included):
20 Nordenfelt 6-lbs Quick Firing Cannons (10 to a side)
14 Reffye Mitrailleuse Guns (7 to a side)
8 Hotchkiss 47mm Revolving Cannons (4 to a side
12 Vickers Machine Gun (Six mounted on removable mounts on the top deck)
2 Double-Vickers AA Machine Guns (Mounted on ring mounts at the top of the Ballons)
1 20-Pounder Armstrong Gun (Mounted on a turntable in the front of the ship; used for special ammunition like Chain Shots, Canister Shot, Grape Shot, etc.)
2 Vickers Machine Guns (Facing forward)
1 Lewis Gun (on a ring mount in the back)
2 100-pound bombs on the wings or 1 300-pound bombs in the fuselage
As of recent, he has been more towards focusing his goals towards the exploring deeper into the Fog for the mysterious treasures that await him.
Personality:
Edoric is on the thin border between incredible, witty genius and absolutely fucking insane. He seems the be very sort of carefree with a tinge of cocky, he's almost drunken in some situations for lack of a better word, yet he seems to be perfectly sober. He is self-serving and surprisingly altruistic, most of the time. He does not consider himself above lying, cheating and stealing. Will also to try and make money in any situation.
He is one of the most notorious pirates and smugglers, having at least one enemy in every major port and city. He prefers to try and avoid conflict as much as possible. Edoric care little of what the people around him are or will do, although he does make quicks about this from time to time. He does adhere to the "Rule of Being a Gentleman Pirate", which consists of possibly hundreds of rules and guidelines that most people believe he makes up on the spots as many rules contradict themselves and some also have the same rule number.
Few things will ever truly piss him off. Slaves and inhumanely-treated workers anger him to no end, going off of his own "childhood". He will personally find the people in charge and kill them in alphabetical order with extreme prejudice.
Equipment:
Rebirth and Liberation (Two swords that build up steam as he swings them and can release the steam as a distraction or a smoke screen. Won in a gambling bet.)
A magically frozen banana
Two Borchardt C-93 semi-auto pistols
The Threaded Cane (A sword-cane that can become a bladed whip. Once owned by the Captain of the Kaluma Nights before Edoric killed him and took it for himself. Favors his normal sword over this but uses it when he cannot have visible weapons.)
Burgess Folding Shotgun (Easily concealable and often used in conjunction with the Threaded Cane in spots where he cannot have visible weapons)
The Black Cat's Eye
Grappling Gauntlet (A fingerless gauntlet with a transforming grappling hook and can be reeled in. Often used to pull things/people from afar or a fulcrum for swing,)
Fog Map - Magical constructs that are used to get to and navigate the Fog. They have two modes, the first is the "paper" mode where it is a map with a bunch of rings that are rotated around to show the way to the Fog. Then the "gyroscope" mode is used to actually navigate the Fog. It will always point to the right direction, no matter how strange the path may seem.
Notable Crew
Galahad - First mate - Ex. Brittannian Navy Officer and talks in a British Accent. Discharged after a rival officer accused him of murder and insubordination, he one of the people in Edo's fleet who can read. While he can double as a doctor and navigator, he requires tea for that.
Nayoki - Pilot - One of the former child slaves, she is the best biplane-pilot and a bit of an airhead
Borris - Mechanic - Former child slaves, he is often shirtless, revealing his huge muscles. However, he is adept at doing detailed work and at using the ship's guns, especially the 6-pounders and the Armstrong gun. He sees Sharps as a gunner who he must out do for his honor.
Sharps - Gunner - Former child slave, she wears cracked glasses but can double the firing range of any gun she is given. She is usually on the Mitralleuse guns and sees Borris as her shooting rival.
Zhang - Engineer - A former child slave who went to the Ryukyuan Imperial Army. Re-joined Edoric after being kicked out for unlawful use of explosives to speed-bake bread. He is incredibly creative, but not all of his ideas work, or are sane.
Lafayette - Chef - Former tavern keeper who lost his job, his casseroles and pastas are on par if not better than that of Royal Chefs.
Rose - Logistics & Navigator - A sweet girl in charge of managing the fleet's supplies. She is one of the people who can read and is actually the daughter of a harbor master who ran away and end up on Edo's ship, circumstances are a private matter.
Into the Fog, to the Edge of the World, Out into the Great Unknown
Lore
Man has lived in their kingdoms in the world of Alalban for more generations that anyone cares to remember. Beyond their cities and villages lie the Fog, a mysterious land where few have ventured. Hundreds, if not thousands of legendes and myths have been created about the Fog and what it contains. And for as many legends about treasures and powerful magical artifacts hidden away, there are an equal number of "Fog Beasts" and ghost ships that haunt the Fog.
However, one brave adventurer dived into the veil and came out with the revelations that the relics told in legends might be true. Even with his shard of a legendary gem and a bag of treasures, he stepped into the shadowy fog and prompted wealthy nobles and kings to mount expeditions to the lost lands in search of treasures. Colonies and settlements have been established as well as resting points for adventurers and treasure-seekers.
Now, nearly one and a half century later, the new frontier is expanding once more as tales of even greater treasures lay in the land beyond. Everyone from adventures to soldiers, from nobles to pirates, from colonists to prisoner, many get on board airships or land caravans to once again travel into the Fog to search for relicts and artifacts at the Edge of the World. To search for a place to start anew. To search for place where their worth mean something. To go Beyond the Fog.
Rules
- GM's word is final and rules may be changed/edited/added at GM's discretion - No God-modding or puppeting or auto-hitting without permission, both of these are jerk moves and no one likes an incredibly OP character. - Do try to be varied in your characters, its more fun and organized when you have a wide arrange of characters with different skills, gear, personalities, etc. - Be mature and use commonsense as I am willing to bet in Vegas that no one likes a whinny kid in a RP - While romance is allowed, please try to keep it at family friendly levels. Use the "fade to black" technique if and when such events occur. Please keep all the naughty stuff to 1x1's or PM's, no corrupting of innocent minds here :P - Do try and refrain from OOC Drama and try not to purposely provoke people, if drama does break out, keep it to PM or GM/co-GMs will step in. - Have fun! ^_^
Some Stuff Worth Knowing
- The technology level is mid-19th century-ish at max with a Steampunk twist - The two most popular ways of traversing the Fog is either by Airships or by Land Tank caravans - There are some large companies and merchant charters that have grown quite powerful in the recent years - While Pirates and Bandits are a threat, they are not the only people who roam the skies and there are more powerful and dangerous forces besides the monsters that inhabit the fog - There is a sort of "organization" to the Fog, with each "layer" longer and more dangerous then the next.
Outer Layer - This is where the last civilized towns are Inner Fog - This is where remote villages and outpost are located. Basically the last part where civilization can be found Fog - The Fog proper, this is where extreme terrain and the unusual weather start, Fog Monsters can also be found here. You will need special "maps" if you wish to travel here. Deep Fog - This is where treasures are, at least in legends. It also where more dangerous monsters and conditions are found. "Giants" can be found here sometimes, they are monstrously huge Fog Monsters that are the stuff of legends The Smoke - Undoubtedly the most dangerous layer of the Fog, Giants are common and the weather is completely unpredictable. Apparently things that defy the laws of both the world and the gods are located here. World's End - A Rumored edge of the world. It is said to be the most beautiful place in the world and where the gods reside. No one has ever been here as its only a legend and it lays far beyond the Smoke.
- Bewared, the Fog is not for the weak of heart. While not directly life threatening (although it can be hard to breath in some spots), some areas of the are known to be hallucinogenic, bringing people's darkest memories and deepest fears to life. - The Fog is constantly changing, only gyroscope-like Fog Maps will ever tell you the true way, no matter how strange that way might be.
Character Guide

Physical Description:
Have a picture of your char's appearance. If you can't find a good picture, go ahead and describe it as best you can.
Skills:
Talents one has either naturally or through education or training of some sort. Can also be from a magic artifact but try to keep it (somewhat) sane
History:
Just a brief thing, no one needs to read what they did on the 4th of March when they were 8. One or two paragraphs preferably
Personality:
An idea of how the character thinks and so forth; should be linked to the history.
Age: 31 Gender: Male Ethnicity/Nationality: Franco-Anglo (French/English)
Physical Description:
Edoric has a tall and slender build and a slightly tipsy demeanor that lack any amount of incredible muscle mass, but Edoric has learned to make do with what he has. He has dark brown eyes and messy golden blonde hair that has clearly been faded some how. He almost looks feminine in some regards.
Skillset:
Due to an eye implant, he has near impossible levels of aim, the ability to see in the dark and (possibly) the ability to see through objects. He has a decent level of martial arts skill due to bar fights but is more adapt at using personal, unorthodox weapons. His non-combat skills include lock-picking, computer hacking and captaining a ship.
He is also noted as a terrific singer and actor.
History:
Edoric had a very rough childhood, being a slave child aboard a different pirate ship. Over the course of years, he gained the trust of many of the other slave children and some of the actual crew and learned through old books and scraps of papers. While the books themselves were not in the best conditions, they taught the young Edoric hundreds of things, in turning making him very crafty both with his hands and his mind. He would eventually lead a mutiny aboard the ship and left the former captain to die on a astroid.
Since then, he had made many of the old child slaves into his crew on a different ship he obtained through unknown means called the Iberian Dawnbreaker. with his first mate was one of the adults who turned on the captain. He has made many legendary exploits across known space, some of which are more myth then fact and have been supported those claims. He eventually made enemies from all corners of the world, both law enforcement and criminals are out for his bounty. There have been many who have tried to kill him, and clearly they should have tried harder.
He and his crew was finally corner in a space port and Edoric transferred command to his first mate and preformed a one man stand with what ever he had. By the time law enforcement had finally arrested him, he had killed or wounded around 30, allowing his ship and crew to escape. He has since been put into the max security prison after calling in a favor from a corrupted offical, allowing him to escape the death sentence originally put on him.
Psychological Profile:
Edoric is on the thin border between incredible, witty genius and absolutely fucking insane. He seems the be very sort of carefree with a tinge of cocky, he's almost drunken in some situations for lack of a better word, yet he seems to be perfectly sober. He is self-serving and surprisingly altruistic, most of the time. He does not consider himself above lying, cheating and stealing. Will also to try and make money in any situation.

He does adhere to the "Rule of Being a Gentleman Pirate", which consists of possibly hundreds of rules and guidelines that most people believe he makes up on the spots as many rules contradict themselves and some also have the same rule number.
Equipment:
Four pistols (confiscated)
His sword, the "Sword of Libris" (confiscated)
Stolen Scrap Iron Shank (In his boot)
Chain Whip (Appears to be his "belt" so it hasn't been taken)
TR-3 31k "Revelations" Eye Implant
Incomplete bits of "armor" (hidden somewhere in his cell)
Libris had no idea where the hell she was or why they was someone on top of her. Did she skip a few important steps in relationship building? The last thing she remember was going to Japan on a family business trip and bringing her laptop along so she could play Elder Tales.
All she remembered was that she fell asleep after going to a hot spring. When she woke up she had looked into the the iconic buildings of Akihabara in decay, over grown with shrubs and in ruins. Birds squawked over head as the Guild Hall could be seen not to far although dwarfed by the some of the other, much taller ruins.
Looking around, she saw the road she was on full of people in fantasy armors, some crying, some fighting with each other, all in the same spot she was in. Trapped in a game they once played. Looking down, she saw that she was wearing the same armor from Elder Tales, the <Graceful Blessed Plate of the Redeemer>. Gotten as a reward from the <Angel Moon Drop> event, it had beautifully combined a regal plate chest piece with a pretty, yet comfortable skirt with lace around the bottom.
This sounds like the setting of a bad shounen anime. Libris whispered to herself, as she and through the streets, the world feeling much more alive than the pixels on her screen ever felt. The winds breezed through her hair as the warmth of the sun met her face. She walked around the city, through alleys and ruins, ignorant to the fact she was trapped inside a game.
A though popped into her head as she stopped there the giant tree that still had bounties and NPC quests tacked to it. She raised a hand and swiped down; sure enough, there was a menu that appeared. It listed everything from the game, equipment, spells, skills, current status, all there.
"Oooooh, it does work like that," Libris smiled slightly as she looked into the menu. All of her things were here for the most part; her sword, her wealth, several unorganized potions, a few miscellaneous crafting and food bits, her armored horse whistle, "Seems like everything is here. Wait... dammit my shield isn't."
The blond suddenly remember how she had given it to a friend to reforge it. Given her current location, her shield was a good ten thousand miles away from her, give or take a bit. This was very problematic as without a shield, she was more or less useless. Paladins played like a healing tank, making great at defending. Unfortunately, they aren't the most offensive-based class. The fact Libris also based her entire set up around that idea was going to make not having a shield only worse.
Closing the window, she sighed and drew her sword and pointed it towards the sky, aiming at the birds as if it was a gun. The effects where clearly enough to be considered real, the shadows were even so real that it looked like a bird was coming towards her. "Wait. That's not sup-" in a blink of an eye, Libris was now on the ground with what she was just another black blob in the sky now on top of her.
Yang-C - The Youxia who came from the Sky
Yang picked himself up, even if he didn't take too much damage from the fall from the sky he had, it sill hurt like hell. "I don't remember it hurting this much in the game." he rubbed his arms before looking down. His face went from buttercup to red rose in .03 seconds flat.
The way he landed made it look like he was mounting the fair-skinned girl for less-than-honorable acts, with his knee between her legs. WAS THE PSYCHICS ENGINE ALWAYS THIS FUCKED UP? Yang internally yelled as jumped back. He had mounted his girlfriend before, but doing it with some random girl in armor wasn't in his list of interests. He lept back and apologized profusely.
"Whose there?" the girl got up in an almost sleepy manner and rubbed her eyes.
Dammit, she's my type of foreigner too... Yang contemplated as he heard a new voice.
"hey you two you guys know whats exactly going on?" a white-tailed fox lady strolled over and asked.
"Umm... no." Yang got up, his face returning to normal, "I have no idea what's going on. Last I remember, I was worrying about a English test. I take a nap, I end up in the Beijing Hub City, then dragged into a Fairy Portal and I'm now here. Where am I even?"
"I am just as clueless as my Liege." Libris stood up and apologically bowed.
"Wait, when did I become a Liege?" Yang turned to the girl in heavy armor, "I don't even know you."
"Please, call me Libris. I'm a Paladin who will be your bodyguard from now on." Libris bowed to a shocked Yang.
Yang sighed as he ignored the strange girl he accidentally mounted and turned to the foxtail, "I'm Yang-C. I've been playing for most of my life. Most people call me Yang or Laoshi."
He had a secret feeling that this would be the start of one hell of a roller coaster.
Edoric looked at the Direwolf as the angry young man brough in his clothes and presumably his belongs in a bag. Pirates hunting pirates eh? Almost like cannabalism. Edoric thought as the girl cut off his bindings. He rubbed his wrists and stood up, standing taller than Anna by a good head or two. He faced the corner of the room as he slipped on his shirt and pants along with the rest of his outfit. Rule number 40 of being a gentleman pirate dictated that one should only change in view of a lover.
Buttoning up the shirt, he heard Anna dump the contents of the bag on to the floor. "Hey, careful with my stuff will you?" Edoric buttoned his cuffs as Anna rifled through his trinkets. He checked his boots and his chest piece's straps as the tinkling noise stopped and Anna asked, "Now that business is done, what is this?"
Edoric turned around and with one swift move, he slipped his arms through his coat and caught the heavy parchement packaged and smiled, "This, love, is what will help me getting my treasure."
He dropped to one knee and rolled it out, revealing a pristine map despite how old the outside looked. Behind the fading parchment was a series of thin wooden strips, colored and etched to show current borders of nations along the edge. However, in the middle was a series of rings, each one getting smaller in width as it got closer to a golden ball right in the center.
At a first glance, the rings made very little sense. The lands etched into the moveable rings where on no normal map and gibberish marked along the edges of the rings where they could be turned. The sharp black ink stood out against the fading, but still clearly visible lands. The words looked like some form of alien language as if something other than mortal branded its language on to the scroll.
"What is this?" Anna questionably looked at the map, "This map is horribly wrong. Only the outside seems right and even then its still off."
"Lass, that because this is no normal map. This is a Fog Map. One that lead you to it to be precise." Edoric fiddled with the rings, "It leads to everywhere and nowhere at the same time. The marks will become word if you so wish them to be and the lands will become real."
Edoric twisted two of the rings and the words "The sky is of fire, purging those unworthy" from what was random ink marks seconds ago. Turning a different ring, the words disappeared into unreadable script and disconnected shapes formed a solid, noticeable land. Aging red, decaying green, and faint yellow formed connected land piece with no strange edges or unrealistic ends.
"Its said that one will never see the map in the same way twice." Edoric looked to Anna and smiled as he once again moved the rings.
"It doesn't make sense." Anna eyed the pirate and his ancient map, "What good is a map that never shows the same place twice? And its impossible for that to be true."
With that Anna reached over and turned the rings to the exact spots she remembered Edoric had them. Her slender fingers danced on the old map as she nudged it ever so gently to get it exactly right. But to her surprise, Edoric was right. Even when she had turned the rings right back to where they were, there was no more connected land mass, no more words that formed from the incoherent markings.
"See lass? This is what gets you to the edge of the world." Edoric leaned over and lifted Anna's hand off the map, "But this is how you travel into the veil beyond."
He folded his hand until only his index finger was out and pressed the tiny golden button in the center. His hand glowed a faint blue in some strange ruin. As he lifted his hand up, the mark shimmering through his glove, the rings followed his hand as if they were connected with invisible strings.
Anna drew in a curious breath as the rings became thicker in mid-air, and it flipped itself by a 90 degree angle and parallel to the wall. One by one, the rings slowly began to un agin themselves and continued spinning gracefully. The final result looked more like a gyroscope then the original map. The rings where golden and so beautifully crafted, there was no way mere mortal hands could ever hope to forge such a thing. Even the colors of the landmasses went from their dull and fading colors, to being vibrant and glittered faintly as the gyro-map move about.
"This is a true Fog Map, one that will guide you in the deepest regions." Edoric whispered as the Fog Map's rings rotated along contiguously moving axis, it a beautiful thing that only few people knew how to read, "This map will never show you where you are in correlation to the world, it will show where the world is in correlation to you."
"That makes no sense." Anna questioned Edoric as she stared into the gently moving map, unconiously moving a hand to touch it.
The gyroscope suddenly moved back and its rings rotated like a flustered chicken. "Love, everything makes sense if you don't think about it." Edoric said as Anna moved her hand to chase after it, the orb dodging all attempts, "The map choose who is worthy enough to be its master. You, who have never even been in the Outer Layer, are no where near worthy enough to have its respect."
"Pft." Anna scoffed as he retracted her hand and the gyro-orb returned to floating above Edoric's palm.
"With this I can find things that no one else will ever touch. This is what will lead me to thrive in this world lass." Edoric stared into the center of the twinkling Fog Map, "I am searching for an magical item said to be able to call down the sun as a weapon." As if on its own, the orb transferred itself back on to the ancient map and the pirate captain's hand stopped glowing, "All things considered, this is very viable to your mercantile sections and possible the sections that no ordinary person ought to know." Rolling up the map and tucking it under his arm, "Now I want to ask you something, how much do you trust me if I were to lead such a venture?" Edoric bowed, "With your 'guidance' of course."
"And how do I know you won't stab me in the back and run off to what ever rat hole you came from?" Anna rested her head on a clenched fist. "Because of two things. One, rule number 62 of being a gentleman pirate says no deceiving women." Edoric swept everything on the ground back into the bag and slung it over his shoulder, "Two, if you do allow this, that 'rat hole from which I came' is the first place I will have to visit."
