NAME: The Ayzrus Legions
THEME: Based upon Imperial Rome and comprised of humans, the Ayzrus fight in a very defensive manner building elaborate and deadly fortifications and traps with weathering machine gun fire and artillery support. They are known for being exceptionally skilled engineers who can erect impressive constructs and defenses with shocking speed. They can often force an engagement with their artillery superiority and will stubbornly hold their ground. In addition, they utilize many auxiliary troops to fulfill specific roles to augment their standard forces.

The mainstay of the Ayzrus Legions, the Legionaries are a formidable fighting force who rely on drill and discipline allowing them to preform complex maneuvers and formations even under fire. Individual glory is shunned within the ranks of the Legionaries as to better ensure that each soldier stays in formation and doesn't blindly charge into battle as its a team effort which brings about victory. Armed with a semi automatic rail rifle, a bola grenade and a durable shield, the basic weapons allow them to hit hard from range. Squads may also carry with them the Pilum RPG, Scorpio Heavy Rail Rifle, Plumbata Machine Gun and/or the Mortignis Flamethrower.
Veteran Legionaries who have been hardened through many battles and drills, Praetorian are given special implants which allows them to carry their larger shields and use their automatic carbines with one hand. They form an advancing wall of pure grit and determination, laying fire down upon the enemy as they march forward with grim resolute. These elites also often will lead units of Legionaries into battle.
Those who are in tune with magic and physic powers are referred as "Arcanists" within the Legion and can be considered in equal part battle mage and combat engineers although their duties often fall towards the latter. Able to errect fortifications and infrasturure at a moment's notice, the Legion's famous defensive fighting style can be attributed to the Arcanists and their mystical art of Runic Arcana.
Elite auxiliary troops of brutal warriors wielding choked shotguns that fire in tight spreads with axehead bayonets. Extremely aggressive, they are often the spear head and true damage dealers on the offensive. They are also expert winter combatants, facing no difficulty fighting in deep snow and can keep a solid footing even on the slipperiest of ice. In more recent battles, they've also proved reliable marines during landing operations from their armored longcraft.
Expert auxiliary marksmen, capable of picking off officers at extreme distances. The Hunters are known for their excellent eyesight, able to make out shapes in storms most can't. Although they usually use long range Heavy Rail Rifles or their own Jezail Anti-Material Rifles, they bring a nasty surprise in the form of their Naphtha Chargers; versatile flame based weapons that can be used to lob flaming shots of adhesive gel like a grenade launcher of spray flames out in front in a fan like a shotgun. They are most comfortable at home and deviously will cover themselves in sand or go as far as to hide within sand dune to ambush enemies.
Atop brutal and enraged Juggernaut mounts, Lahimkin Cataphracts care only for the blood they spill. It is their rage and blood lust which allows them to bond with their equally deadly mounts. With both rider and mount clad in heavy plate armor, they may not be as swift as more traditional cavalry and fewer in numbers, they are a terrifying sight to have charging into your flank, slaughtering troops. Anyone who has faced them before almost always focuses even anti armor weaponry to try and take down the super heavy cavalry before they enter melee.
More traditional and "lighter" cavalry, while Gotha Lancers are often used for scouting and harassing, they are most famous for a single trait: endurance. Both in terms of health and stamina, both the horse and rider is unmatched in the Legion who can ride for days on end without the need for sleep and little need of food or water. Thanks to their advance respiratory equipment, they can fight even in the midst of toxic fumes and poisons gas. Many a battles have been won by the Lancers suddenly charging out of noxious gas and preying upon unsuspecting foes.

The language of a lost civilization whose very words carry power. Those who can read and reproduce the runes are known as Arcanists and are also the foremost experts in psychic abilities and phenomenon. By chanting the forgotten words in specific sequences they can produce abilities that can send fireballs or arcs of lightning soaring across the battle field. By carefully inscribing runes into metal however, they can imbue the power of Runic Arcana into the very equipment itself; a shield that will never break, armor that can repair itself, a gun that will never malfunction, a wall that will never fall, a blade that will never dull.

Words can be quickly searched and automatically placed in the proper order without the need of dutiful memorization on the part of the caster. Their construction is carefully overseen by the Arcanists as properly placing them can result in the creation of a Geomantic Web which is what gives Runic Arcana is true potential as mentioned above where as other wise careful ritual and divination and time would have to be spent on spells in situations where there may not be any time. Even raising a lodestone in the wrong place by a couple of millimeters can result in an incomplete Web that could cause horrific disasters for any Arcanist attempting to use it.
