Just had a cool idea for a RP. Maybe it takes place on Eradanus II during the covenant attack. A kid could be rescued by a Spartan and the RP could follow their journey off the planet. Could be fun

So, your mom got you a pet bug for your birthday. A praying mantis. You were a little let down, when you said you wanted a pet you meant more like a dog. This ended up with you not giving him much attention, besides watering and feeding him. That was at least, until the first time he talked.
This is just a fun RP idea I had on a whim where your character gets a pet mantis that magically seems to be able to talk to them back and forth, but only with them. Maybe he could help your character get through a tough time in their life, or just have a wholesome whimsical friendship
