My downside is I'm an active poster when I'm home but I do work 3 to 11 Mountain Standard Time, or Arizona time. When people are active affect how often I can post. If everyone is on when I'm on at night, it would be perfect. I could even put in multiple posts a day, but if no one's active than one a day will be my average. Is that alright with you?
Haeo can my character be friends with your character. Be recent friends or something.
I am very interested in this RP and wish to draw up a character, but I need sometime to out it together.
I want to apologize for disappearing for so long. My sickness decided to kick it up a notch and I started feeling a lot worse this week. It didn't help that I can't take sick days, and working only seemed to make it worse. I'm not sure when I'll get better, but I'm hoping it doesn't persist for too much longer or I have to see a doctor. I don't want this RP to die, because I spent too much time away from it, so may attempt to put at least something together tomorrow.

I know you're the understanding type, but you seemed have been having quite a bit of fun with this, and I kind of feel bad for halting that.
Looks good to me Mahz. I look forward to the incoming changes.
Scion hadn't counted on Skallagrim to able to match him step for step, never allowing him to move anywhere but right in front of him. If he thought it would help. He would have been glad to simply run them both right into the wave pool. However, he didn't feel that would really help him anymore then it would help Skallagrim. He decides instead to take one more half step and lean to his right, before quickly springing back on his right foot and stepping forward and to the left of Skallagrim(Skal's right), closing at least three feet between them with the sudden step. He however, suspected that Skallagrim would have no trouble following his attempted fake out and planned accordingly. As Scion is stepping forward with his left leg, he shifts the staff during its mad spin, shifting his left and right hand into and under and over grip respectively. As the staff enters a near vertical position, Scion archs its swing forward into down sweeping motion, using the circular momentum to add to the swings speed and power. The crucial part of his plan came as he committed to the swing, and instead of aiming for the current position of Skallagrim's right leg, he aimed where he believed Skallagrim would reflexively step to cut off his juking maneuver. He intended to catch the ankle and hook it on the staff's crystal. He would then spring off his left foot and twist his body to pull Skallagrim's leg out from under him. The move regardless of success would end with him back a his six foot distance where he would continue his spin.

Dennis was still working on locking in the coordinates for his plan. He needed to stretch his perception to the edges of his reach, in order to get the universal position of one of the lower parts of the lighting cage circling the park. He normally wouldn't consider using such high voltage electricity on a normal person. However, Skallagrim wasn't a normal person. The skeletal man would not be affected in the same way as other people would be. His body wouldn't conduct the electricity, and it would pass over him with relatively no harm other than some scorching. If things went as intended, then the weapons and armor would suffer the most under the unexpected electrical storm.

In the mean time, He would continue to dedicate most of his attention to Scion as subroutines finished gathering the rest of necessary data for the long range portals. He could see Scion intended to try to trip Skallagrim, but was wary of the sphere's circling Skallagrim, that Scion seemed to have ignored. They were giving off a strong magnetic field now, and he could see they now had the potential to mess with Scion's gear. Scion was also open to an easy counter with these spheres or even the dagger itself, if Skallagrim isn't thrown off enough by having his leg swept, and would need a quick counter. The relative arch of the Sphere's was consistent and predictable enough. Dennis decides to prepare several, easy coordinates, for small portals to spawn when the need to intercept Skallagrim's counter would inevitably arise.
I'm totally against betting points. The ranks are supposed to show the participants' skill in textual combat, which includes a variety of things - from knowledge of combat to analysis of your opponents strategy to forming one of your own - and allowing to bet points will skew the results, as a lucky bet based on simply the reputation of a fighter, and not an independent evaluation of their skill, could bring one higher up into the ranks than they have earned.

Betting anything else? Fine by me, that could actually be pretty fun.

I agree with Vodak on this one. As anyone could become higher or lower ranked than their actual skill would suggest with this method. If one wants to back another fighter. I would keep it to an in-character interaction.

OK. I have got something. The shift from quick reactions to strategy is due to Scion calming down. He is able to think more clearly, but now has to try harder to anticipate his opponent instead of relying on instinct and reflexes to make snap decisions for him.

The big change this brings, is that if Skallagrim does something he didn't anticipate, then Scion will have a much harder time countering it. He'll need to rely more on Dennis to counter unexpected moves.
Scion had no idea what Dennis had intended to do, but was glad to be holding onto the post when he felt himself being pulled forward as a portal suddenly appeared before him. The effect of the cold vacuum was instantaneous, as super heated air and steam began rushing through the portal and igniting the many pools of oxygen upon the frozen surface. His glimpse inside was brief, but Scion recognized the homeworld of Harry and sincerely hoped the boy wasn't out and about during this. The kid had a nasty habit of wandering into strange coincidences. However, before he could begin reminiscing, the portal closed and the park was returned to a semi normal state. The place was still burnt and melted all over. The vibrant colors and greenery had all been reduced to shades of grey. The most colorful thing left in the entire park was the ever enthusiastic DJ station, casting an eerie red glow across the landscape while playing an electrifying guitar solo. Water was also slowly returning to the depleted pools and slides as simple machines, intended to maintain the water level, pumped water back into the park oblivious to its state of disrepair.

"God things really went to hell here?" Scion mutters as he takes a moment to release his impromptu anchor and uses it to pull himself to his feet. He was considerably calmer now and was able to take a moment to properly investigate his surroundings and plan his next move. The down side was his speed and perception had dropped considerably in response. he hadn't the foggiest clue as to why Skallagrim hadn't made a single move on him since his reappearance. He felt like he should be happy for this reprieve, but was instead wary of Skallagrim's glowing sword, and the tendril of darkness that were wrapped around little balls of fire. He could also see the force tonfa a few feet in front of Skallagrim, where he had dropped it, and was even able to spot the glint of his switch blade a few feet closer than that. Both so close, yet so far out of reach, with Skallagrim's imposing figure stood before them.

"Dennis. You have any ideas?" Scion hazards to ask, his voice having a considerable rasp to it. His vocal cords having not escaped being burnt by the boiling water he had inhaled.

"Yes. Six seconds. On Screen." Dennis replies, in short quick bursts. Scion is confused by this reply, but does as asked and raises his right arm, glancing for a second at his right wrist as he does so. On the watch screen, an image a man on top of a storm cloud appears, hovering over the figure of a Skeleton, with a bolt of electricity arching towards it. The meaning was simple enough that Scion didn't have to draw too many parallels to get what Dennis planned to do. He continues raising his arm and in the same motion grips the top of his staff, another click sounds, and he pulls the staff away from his back. The need for secrecy had arisen from, Scion and Dennis noticing Skallagrim's hyper observant nature. His ability to anticipate and counter their actions, when they were executed in fractions of a second, had left no doubt about his ability. Scion just hoped that their most recent plan would finally catch the bastard by surprise. Scion wields the staff in both hands, and immediately begins spinning it while slowly advancing towards Skallagrim. He once again favors his right side, but allows a slight angle toward his front. He doesn't allow himself to step any closer than six feet until dashing to his right, and begin rapidly circling around Skallagrim.

As he circles, Scion channels energy into amplifying his arm strength. Skallagrim had wielded his sword in one arm so far, and he knew he would have a slight advantage wielding the staff in both hands, the added strength would allow him to more easily block and parry Skallagrim's blows. The spinning was adding speed to the staff to increase the force of impact. It was also doubling as a deterrent towards thrust attacks that could be easily deflected by the spin. The the five foot staff having actual reach, would also help him to more easily counter sword swings if Skallagrim was to try to to step forward and slash at him. The only thing he wasn't sure of the capabilities of, was the glowing balls of plasma wielded by the darkness surrounding the dagger. He decides the best course of action would be to simply widen his circle and retreat if Skallagrim chose to wield them instead. The added range would hopefully help to evade any potential attacks. He didn't need to hit Skallagrim right now as much as he needed to stall. He was going to need to wait for the perfect opportunity for Dennis' plan to succeed. He only needed now to wait for Skallagrim to make his move.
