PILOT
NAME: Mike Richards
AGE/GENDER/APPEARANCE: 32/Male/

MILITARY RANK: Captain
CALLSIGN: Nova 1
CODENAME: N/A
CONFIRMED KILLS: 26
BIOGRAPHY: Mike Richards grew up on the Dreadnoughts alongside his older brother Scott. Their father, General John Richards is the Chief Executive Officer of the UCD Washington, and their mother Delilah was also an enlisted officer. As such, the brothers were exposed to a military lifestyle from an early age, and both enlisted when they came of-age. Mike spent most of his early career as support staff aboard the Dreadnought Valley. He enlisted for Pilot training at 23 and was assigned to the now decommissioned Pillar Squad. Tragedy struck 5 years later, shortly after the start of the Uprising, on the colony Truth, where enemy forces completely overwhelmed 3 Mech Squads. Among the deceased was Captain Scott Richards. One year later, Mike barely escaped certain death himself. With their commander and several squadmates dead, their backs to the wall, and hope wearing thin, Mike led the survivors of Pillar Squad out of a literal Heart of Darkness. He received a Medal of Honor and a promotion for his actions that day. Pillar Squad was permanently decommissioned out of respect for the deceased and Mike was placed in command of the newly christened Nova Squad.

More than 300 years since humanity mass-evacuated the empty husk of a planet that was once the Earth to move into the newly-terraformed Andromedian Cluster, a star-belt of minor galaxies dotted with habitable planets. The peace that had reigned humankind for the past few centuries was shattered with the uprising of a well-funded and heavily armed terrorist group led by a disgraced former general of the United Colonial Defense Force. Within 8 months, they drove the U.C.D.F. alongside the few remaining government officials and millions of innocent civilians fleeing for the relative safety of space aboard the Dreadnought-class military ships. 5 years later, Supplies are low and morale is lower. There are barely 100 active soldiers remaining in the corps but we must keep fighting to save our homeworlds from the grip of tyranny and anarchy, or face extinction.

Nice to see some interest, Work has begun on the OOC, hopefully we can get a few more in here before that goes up either later tonight or early tomorrow
Late 26th century. 300+ years since humanity mass-evacuated the empty husk of a planet that was once the Earth to move into the newly-terraformed Andromedian Cluster. The peace that had reigned humankind for the past few centuries was shattered with the uprising of a well-funded and heavily armed terrorist group led by a disgraced former general of the United Colonial Defense Force. Within 8 months, they've driven the U.C.D.F. alongside the few remaining government officials and millions of innocent civilians fleeing for the relative safety of space aboard the Dreadnought-class military ships. Supplies are low and morale is lower. There are barely 100 active soldiers remaining in the corps but we must keep fighting to save our homeworlds from the grip of tyranny and anarchy, or face extinction.

Looking for at least 5 others to start. Multiple characters will be allowed if you ask first. 2 different Character sheets are gonna be used by default, one for the character and a separate one for the Mech, hope to see you on the battlefields!
David let all of the "Xbone" ribbing and jokes wash over him. He was used to it by now, and even laughed along with a few of him as he fetched himself a beer. He slapped Elliot on the back when he jumped to defend the XB1 "Atta boy Elliot! Maybe we can sneak in a few rounds of K.I. later. Speaking of which, we really should've had a few extra TV's set up in here, to keep the few of us who aren't part of the PC Master Race or don't have any handhelds on hand busy while tourney matches are goin on"

Dave shut up before he could get any response because that's when their host and fearless leader, Dylan stepped forward to announce SSB Brawl as the first game....... but then the power just shit itself and died.

"Damn" David said, as he took a sip from the bottle.

"Well that was fun. Who's for Chinese?" Elliot said.

"I refuse to play your Chinese food mind games!" David responded in his best Ashton Kutcher impression. He folded over his arms and thought for a moment as most of the others went back to their DS's, Gameboys or computers "Ok, first, someone should check if its a city grid blackout or just a tripped breaker up here. We wouldn't be able to run a gas-powered generator up here because of the fumes, if we even have one, but we could pop it out onto the fire scape, run the cables through to the power bars. Then just balance out the loads on each separate circuit we'd have to run. Assuming the power is not knocked out city-wide, I could drive over to a hardware or electronics shop, pick us up some gear to splice up into a generator"
David Stark could hear from down the hall that the party was already getting started. He had fully expected to be late given the circumstances, he just hoped he wasn't going to be the last to show up. Peering around the doorframe, he slid off his backpack and laid it down as he cleared his throat to get some attention.

"Hey everyone, sorry I'm late, but I have a good excuse this time. I only played one match too many and then on the way out, I completely forgot something and had to stop to gather up this little beauty" He stepped in around the doorframe, revealing the Xbox One box that he was holding. David was one of the few members of his group of friends who had managed to get a hold of the next-gen system, so he figured he should bring it along.

"In all seriousness though" he said as he laid the boxed-up console down alongside his discarded backpack full of controllers and games, then slid off his hoodie and hung it on the back of a nearby chair "I'm late because there was this big traffic jam a few blocks away, it seems like a bunch of traffic lights all decided to go on the fritz at the same time, I had to take the long way around to get here, so who are we still waiting on?"
Great! Can't wait to really get started, I'll post in a little bit (I'm actually typing this up as I take a short break from the final level of Mirror's Edge) but I do have 1 question: do you think an ability where David can digitally swap out new weapons for himself would be considered overpowered? Like if they come into a situation where they need to be able to snipe at far away enemies and he's only carrying his shotgun, he could drop it and summon a sniper rifle. Futuristic Soldier Guys don't really have much in the way of special abilities you know?
Hopefully I'm not too late!

Image of Character: Very average looking guy, he's 5'11, weighs about 170 pounds, has blue-green eyes and dark brown shaggy hair. He usually wears track pants and a t-shirt with a hoodie and a very cheap looking pair of sneakers. His Game Master outfit is a high-tech version of the COG Armor in Gears of War. It starts off in the Summer configuration (Armor 1 picture) but on his command he can shift it into Winter or Battle configurations (Armor 2 and 3 pictures respectively)

Name: David Stark

Nickname: Dave

"Game Master" Title: Sergeant Crossfire

Gender: Male

Chosen Game Mastery: Gears of War (Character abilities consist mainly of slightly above average strength, agility, and tactical planning, as well as true mastery of the word 'shit'. He also has access to a digital weapons locker, where he can select and use any weapon from the Gears series on the fly)

Preferred Weapon(s)/Power-Up(s): Lancer Assault Rifle, Gnasher Shotgun, Combat Knife and other "Gears of War" weapons

Background: David is 22 and he attends the local community college. He has literally been gaming his whole life, a popular story told at family gatherings is that his father bought an NES "for his son" and proceeded to only use it himself since David was about 2 months old at the time. His love for gaming only grew from there, in fact, most of his childhood memories have to do with gaming in some form or another, like getting his old Game Boy Color from his mom the day before he was supposed to go into the hospital for tonsil removal, and his excitement at Christmas the year he got an N64 and the pure unadulterated joy of beating BassX in Megaman Battle Network 3 on a warm summer day with his best friend at his side. Like his Game Master Armor, he seems pretty hardened and cold on the outside (mainly to people he doesn't know or is not familiar with) but on the inside, he's very warm, and sociable, and he would do anything for his friends at the flick of a switch.

Other: David's other major interest is watching movies and TV Shows, so he has a penchant for busting out references or quotes from time to time. Video gaming is obviously his primary hobby though, his collection reaches nearly 400 games across 10 different systems, and even though his love for shooters, particularly Gears shines bright, he loves action-adventures, fighting games, a couple of sports games and RPGs too. Fallout 3 and the Mass Effect Trilogy are some of his favorite games of all time, in fact, the bounty hunter Wrex from Mass Effect is his favorite character in any game.
