Bit of a loaded question, but how does DEX play into a manual combat player's fighting ability? Does it actually affect their in-game skill in some way, or does it work more like game stats where your chance of hitting is calculated partly by stats and not taking into account your prior skill?
I guess a good example for my question is what would the difference be between an average Joe with a bow and like 8934589342573245 DEX against someone who happens to be an Olympian gold medalist archer with like below average DEX, assuming they're both playing Manual?
As soon as Lew began his first trek into this strange, new world, he was absolutely astounded at what was before him. Truly the marketing for Cacophony Concord did not lie! In particular, the vast display of the various monsters of this world brought a great sense of interest to Lew. The thought of potentially being up close and personal with them filled Lew with a sense of optimism and excitement that he hadn't felt since he was a child. Of course, these detailed models also would mean that any monster girls Lew would run into would be just as magnificent, if not moreso. These thoughts filled Lew with a different, more adult form of optimism and excitement.
Soon, the cinematic began to die down to a collage of flashing lights and explosions before a proper introduction was made by a very over-sized owl. Lew couldn't help but scrutinize this creature in detail, his interest in this game's fauna increasing. Aside from his own degenerate interests, Lew always had a genuine interest in animals, both real and fantastical. The joy of observing their behavior and studying their different traits, understanding what makes them different from humans... Such things brought a sense of joy and fulfillment to Lew.
Sadly, Lew's admiration of this game's art was quickly interrupted with his own naked form. Taking a moment to study each meticulous slider, Lew decided the easiest thing to do was to just make himself look more idealized. The first thing Lew worked on was his height, ramping it up to a full six feet so he isn't stuck at the humiliating halfway mark to manhood in-game. Next up was to make himself look more worldly and wise, definitely older than how he actually is. The end product was... not fantastic, but satisfying enough and arguably better than what he looked like in real life.
Next was the attributes. Average was always safe, but Lew felt that specializing in some way would help him go through the early game more easily in order to reach his true goal. In the end, he settled with a build that would rely on simply being hard to kill to some degree. The idea of manipulating the forces of magic was not of any true concern or interest for Lew, and magical defense would be easily made up with either equipment or perhaps something he'd develop later down the line. As for dealing damage, Lew figured it would be much better to learn the game's mechanics and intricacies by outlasting his opponents, especially early on. In that regard, it was a godsend that Endurance ended up being both the skill for durability and recovery. Weapon skills didn't matter too much as he aimed to something simple but reliable at first, like a spear.
As for the user experience? Well, it's just what one would suspect if they knew Lew on a personal level.

Left eye has a singular scar and is colored to appear as if the eye has been blinded even though it most certainly isn't. Of course none of this matters as his bangs seem to be covering his left eye at most times. Appearance: Contrary to what the image may suggest, he has two arms. One just happens to be longer than the other by, like, an inch.
Description: The youngest and smallest of five brothers, Russel is the stereotypical nerd, a reclusive computer science major with no friends and practically zero social media presence. Contrary to the belief of his peers, this isn't because he's antisocial. Instead, he takes on the identity of a completely different person online, going to lengths such as digitally creating his own online persona, complete with an avatar to boot. This persona is the polar opposite of Russel, representing the person he wishes he could be coupled with the overcoming of his own personal insecurities. While at first made back when he was 14 in order to seem like a cool guy to the people he met online, it has since evolved into a way for Russel to become a useful person people actually enjoy spending time with, a desire born out of his parents' constant belittling.
On the net, he goes by the name of Russ, a 26-year-old mechanic who enjoys traveling, lifting, and all forms of outdoor activities. Of course, Russel has never done any of these things before, so a lot of his "experiences" come from far too much time spent looking up and studying other people who have, as well as having brothers who actually do work out and talk to women. While at first nothing but a mere hyperbole of the "alpha chad," Russ has evolved into a generally positive presence online, open to giving others lifestyle tips and opting to play unloved roles in video games, such as healers and support classes. It helped that his voice was already naturally deep, although he has deepfaked a few times when asked to video chat with his friends.
As of last year, Russ has been unable to game with his friends as often as he did in the past, chalking it up to "traveling the world." Of course, it's really because his university classes have made him much busier than he was in the past. This past year alone, he has taken great pains into optimizing his time so that he doesn't disappear on his friends, even going so far as to grind in the late hours of the evening so that he wouldn't be too far behind. After all, what's there not to love about a game where he could actually be the chad he says he is online?

I just changed my vote because there are more outlandish weeb monster girls than there are sea monster girls. Giant feet and spiders and all that beat sirens and other betentacled things.
As they were briefed, Michael couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy about the whole thing. Indeed, this seemed to be one of the shadier jobs Michael had signed up for, especially if they essentially have to destroy their evidence of meddling after their job is complete. At the same time, Michael thought less of the potential moral or legal repercussions of this job. He had already spent enough time thinking about those semantics and all they did was sink him deeper into debt. If one wants to make money, they'll have to get their hands dirty, after all.
However, one other thing mentioned by the woman briefing them caught Michael's attention.
"What's up with this thing's armor?" Michael asked, scrutinizing the photo they were given of The Duke. "I get that the details are on a need-to-know basis and all, and I'm not the type to really care about any of the science behind it, but if you can tell us anything else about it, namely how tough it would be to cut through, it'd make my job easier. I need to know how I'm going to have to cut through it if we'll be injecting it, after all."
Whether his question was answered or not, Michael worked on signing the contract. He took his time reading through the details, but not so much as to seem suspicious or difficult to work with to these sorts of people. Michael was used to searching for key words for these sorts of things by now, and his mental enhancements helped find them faster. Once all that paperwork was done, Michael reached for one of the other injectors, agreeing with Da-Xia's suggestion without argument. Out of them all, it seemed like Michael would be the one most likely to stab the thing effectively and accurately. Still, there was a bit of reluctance being held responsible for such a dangerous duty, but Michael tried his best to push those worries to the back of his mind.
Walking into the elevator, Michael took a deep breath as he began to put his poker face on.
I think the class that interests me the most is a Bloodcursed. Maybe I can grab it later down the line... For now, I'll probably roll like a thief or smth.
