The year is 2066.

It's been twenty years since the two adjacent, yet unforeseen worlds, Lucis and Earth, finally contacted each other.

On a single fateful day, the very fabrication of the universe and time, collapsed. This, in turn, opened a massive wormhole right over the South American continent. Originally viewed by Earthlings to be a hostile creation, it was soon shown to be a gateway to another world -- "Lucis". Described as a strange world built upon the concepts of magic and alchemy, it is an entrance into an entirely different reality.

Earth, a world simple yet complex, has found comfort in technology. While tomes may be near unreadable by an Earthling, a Lucisean would be more than likely to get lost while handling a cellphone from the 2010 era.

Though the two world have many differences, they have lived in relevant peace for the past twenty years.

The rift -- now nicknamed "The Black Gale" -- is an entirely wild realm with little knowledge about it. With limitations set-up in order to safeguard travel and communication, the two worlds are easily able to access each other. This is made entirely possible by "combat schools" which are created in order to prevent monsters from The Black Gale from attacking either worlds.

People who attend these combat schools are anywhere between the ages of fifteen to twenty. Like most schools, Arcane Artes is a school that recruits at age fifteen and keeps students for five years (similiar to Hogwarts, there will be first/second/third/fourth/final year students, you are free to play as any year, a prodigy or otherwise and similiar to that, there are summer breaks for each school-year in which the students are allowed to return home). Students who attend these schools are trained, partnered and eventually graduate to become seasoned warriors and heroes known as "Gatekeepers".

Students receive a letter exactly one month prior to attending. Each year, on the international holiday that celebrates peace between Lucis and Earth, new students leave home to start their first day at school. As to how students are picked are unknown, but they posses some sort of skill with magic, alchemy, weapons, technology or otherwise. Although it is optional to attend the school, it's very rare for a student to turn down a letter due to abusive environment, desire for change or a thirst for adventure. You happen to be playing as one of the students attending this academy in particular.

A variety of classes, weapons and races will be introduced. I'm not putting a limitation on anything, really, however, I'll be closely moderating what characters I accept in order to prevent Mary-Sues and Gary-Stus.

A lot of this is still in the works and I've recruited my usual Roleplay partner (Grey) to co-GM with me. This Roleplay has been launched before on various sites and is generally a success. I have no intentions on letting this die early on and it will be treated differently than most Supernatural "academy" Roleplays, since it's more of a slice of life, mixed with adventure and so on.

While there will be a plot present, I heavily expect character development and people to make their own substories to add onto the main plot (without hogging it, that is).

This will be High-Free, but still very relaxed, like my usual Roleplays.

Ask questions, offer suggestions, etc.

Overall, there's more to come!

But who is interested right now?
Update: It's likely I won't be joining this Roleplay and I certainly don't want to hold anyone back, though it seems like you are waiting for someone at the current time anyway. That being said, I may join in the future, but for now, I'm restricting myself from doing so. Enjoy your Roleplay, everyone! Nothing like a good adventure story, eh?
I might join this one as well, should it be okay with you, Kira.
Lovely. I'll have my characters up shortly.
I'm quite in the mood for this. I have a question, however, may I be permitted to have two characters? I'm considering using my sibling bunch.
Ah, yes, video games.

Honestly? I would like games from some of the older Nintendo consoles to be remade. I didn't grow up on Nintendo like most other gamers (I was a Sony child) and it feels like I missed out on something, that's for sure. I'm definitely aboard to see some of the Zelda games, for example, being remade. I'd definitely like to try my hand at some of those, though I won't share the same nostalgia feels.

For my own game, I've always liked the idea of some sort of psychological (and horror, since that's apparently very "in" right now) visual novel where you can control a main character that the player has remote control over (personality-wise moreso) and where decisions actually, truly affect the storyline. I've always had this idea where you'd control a main character (Liesel/Lee) who was stuck in a "manor" (think similiar to Haunting Ground) with a cast of other colorful characters that can be recruited, ignored or otherwise. With a psychological theme that said manor is like a mental prison of sorts and the only way to escape is to overcome some sort of obstacle.

Eiiiither that or I think there is potential to make a really cool espionage game based off of WWII (thank you, LordPie, you got my mind on WWII-based ideas and that sounds absolutely lovely).

Okay, enough ranting. And yes, I totally agree with the Wii being a downfall to the gamer industry aside from a handful of other factors (*cough and glares at feminism's impact on gaming*). What happened to non-gamers just sticking to Tetris and 3D arcade remakes of Pac-Man? ;_;

Putting this into my signature and spreading it on my social media. Not sure how much I'll be able to help, but miracles sometimes happen. Best of luck to your friend and for what the future may bring them.
Fire Emblem. Loads and loads of Fire Emblem.

Although if any of you have Steam, my name is CynderTheKid and I'm always free for a match of Payday 2, Left 4 Dead 2 or just screwing around on Garry's Mod. I also have a ton of animoo MMOs downloaded, though I don't know how many of you would be interested in those, =P.

Garry hadn't even moved five feet before watching Aria . . trip over a chair and crash directly into a table. It was a bit comical, but it also look like it hurt like hell. "That's quite a fall you had there," he remarked, picking up some of the items that were knocked off the table when she fell. It was good luck that none of them were damaged -- it would've sucked for her to have to pay for damages.

"Might wanna be more careful," he said, a slight shake of his head almost accompanied by a sigh. But then again, what were expressions? And hopefully without anymore interruptions, he headed towards the door, briefly wondering if he would come here again tomorrow or just skip the routine all together.
Garry watched the girl, puzzled by her sudden snaps of anger. He hadn't done anything to provoke her and answered her questions. It's not his fault that she didn't get to hear what she wanted to hear. Taking a few more sips and finishing of his hot chocolate, red eyes looked down on her, "Oh. Well, good night then," he stood up, dusting himself off, a subconscious reaction at best.

He appeared so calm, despite the fact he was freaking out inside. It was a sense of social anxiety -- it was a mistake to have to come sit with Aria. He hadn't even know the girl and she was already so suspicious of him, "And have a good one at that."
