19 | Libra | October 13th 15 | Capricorn | January 3rd Full Name Dakota & "Raven" Wilds. Species Advanced human with two different paths: one for magic (Dakota) and one for psychic abilities ("Raven"). Abilities
  • Dakota - Basically, he's a zodiac mage, meaning that he can tap into the element that is classified by his zodiac. In this case, Dakota is a Libra, meaning that his element is wind -- it's a more complex way of saying "wind mage". Being the same person as Raven, the two are indirectly connected by a telepathic link as well.
  • Raven - Gifted with both telepathy and empathy, Raven can also see through Dakota's eyes when the two are separated. His only offensive ability is telekinesis. Due to not being "whole" with his other self, Raven struggles with confidence when it comes to using abilities, therefore, nerfing the hell out of them and often causing him to feel faint or completely pass out entirely.
Personality
  • Dakota - Affable, relaxed and secretly very confused. Literally obsessed with the idea of chicken nugget cults and the communists at KFC trying to take over the world, it becomes apparent very quickly as to why people treat Dakota as being a little crazy. Truthfully, he isn't entirely there, as he isn't aware of the fate of his brother (or at least not on the surface) and doesn't seem to remember the injustices he suffered as a child. Because of being two different people, Dakota has a one-track mind that exists on two different planes of existence: one where everything is actually happening and one where he is able to hear or see the thoughts of others. Unfortunately, he cannot tell the difference between the two thinking processes and therefore, causes him to occasionally outburst or create statements that make no sense. Due to his current mental state, he is unable to care about anyone aside from "Raven".
  • Raven - Serious, mysterious and a little cold. "Raven" is extremely goal-driven and very sarcastic, especially to his other half. He is often the one tasked with cleaning up messes caused by other people and is surprisingly down-to-earth, despite his unapproachable exterior. Extremely intelligent and burdened with the memories that his other self cannot seem to recall, he has a severe lacking of common sense. It is unlike Raven to be up front with people and thus, as a result, tends to keep secrets, especially the one involving having two different halves.
Malady Unaware to it, Dakota suffers from a multi-personality disorder on a completely different plane of existence. Because of the torment he received as a child from the ghost of his deceased older brother, Raven, his mind completely shattered resulting in two different entities: Raven, which has all the memories and is well aware of his circumstances and Dakota, who is treated as nothing more than just an empty shell of shattered memories. Applicable Biography The second child of a witch and a psychic, Dakota spent a majority of his childhood being believed by one parent and not the other. It was obviously a spiteful act on each other and not on him, as they were in the middle of heavy times after the intentional death of their eldest child, Raven, who took his life at the age of thirteen. And the family members sure did enjoy blaming each other, to the point of oblivion when it came to Raven's ghost haunting the family, all except for little Dakota. And it was that very same haunting that caused the boy's fragile mind to shatter, causing him to create two versions of himself: "Raven" and the empty shell left behind. "Raven" never aged physically and followed Dakota everywhere, despite always being connected through telepathy and each other's eyesight. In return, Dakota was entirely lost without Raven and without memories of what happened as a child, he believed the same that everyone else outside of the family did: "Raven" was Dakota's little brother and that was the end of the story. Other Shattered by O.A.R is the themesong for this character, since I listened to it while writing this profile up. Also, I used this character in an offline Roleplay once and the girl I was writing with actually thought I was Satan for a week. Enjoy!
<Snipped quote by Cynder> Cynder! You're here, too! Thank you so much, I hope I can keep it interesting!
Ofc, darling. I'm working on my character now. It's like I can't go anywhere without you and Lyra, it's great. Never met so many people with the exact same interests at me at once.
YAMI-SENPAI, I'M JOINING YOUR RP, THIS IS A MARVELOUS CONCEPT.
Saw this on the TellTale forums and thought it would be something fun to transfer here. So, what kind of pets do you have? Do you have any pictures or videos of them doing anything interesting? Do you have anything exotic or are you original and just have a bowl of fish? What's your dream pet or one you would like to have in the future? Feel free to share!
Been silently following this thread for some time. At first, I wasn't sure what to think of it, but it led me to two thoughts. One, it sucks knowing that other people have struggled as well, because I seriously know the pain. And two, it may be the cynicism speaking, but I'm a bit glad that I'm not alone in this world. I just turned seventeen about two weeks ago and I can gladly say that society doesn't want to help you as much as it wants to pity you. There is a lot of tactics to dealing with different illnesses, but it really isn't as cut and clear than what Dookie is trying to get across here (or at least how I read it, sorry if I read it wrong, still waking up here). There is more to recovery than just shoving someone into an asylum, therapy or encouraging them to see a psychiatrist. I know you should never use yourself in a debate, but I'm going to speak from personal experience here. I'm a victim of heavy child abuse from an early age (around four or five) and because of it, have developed anxiety, hyperviligiance and what may be PTSD (aren't sure about this one entirely, I just bear some of the symptoms as professionally diagnosed). I've been therapy my entire life and ironically, it's indirect result as to what messed it up. In order to see my psychologist every week, I had to see a psychiatrist once a month. I didn't particularly like this psychiatrist since she had it in her mind that I was going to kill myself every day of the week and eventually, diagnosed me to a bunch of medication that never helped and ironically, made it worse (Zoloft, Prozac, etc, etc). As Seuss said, there is a lot of stigma for it as well: as I said earlier, society wants to pity you, not entirely help you. If I tell someone what happened to me, they all reaction differently, but it mostly leads to the same path: they never look at me the same way again. There's a lot of pressure for finding a psychiatrist and doctor, since someone who may be struggling from heavy depression or bipolarism, may want to be normal or want acceptance without being pressured into something. And at the end of the day, people will always react one of two ways: 1.) They'll think you're b*tching or full of it. 2.) They'll just say "I'm sorry, is there anything I can do to help?" Though it looks good on paper for sure, the second one isn't always the best answer. People who say that don't always necessarily understand and from experience, tend to overstep personal boundaries or take advantage of whatever pain you may be going through. In short, I have yet to see society truly understand without having to sit through the same thing themselves. And honestly, speaking from someone who is bothered by it, I can honestly say I'd really rather they didn't. //Sorry if that was really off-topic or didn't make any sense or riddled with spelling errors, just woke up, but saw the mini-debate and thought I'd join in.
lol autumn is falling here, anyway i was thinking of doing the wyvern attack later, i want most of the tribes to hate each other so it would be much more interesting to see how they manage to get through the chaos
I zoned out for a second there and completely forgot there is two different hemispheres! Autumn is even better because I could plan the winter festival quicker! All joking aside, it shouldn't be too hard for other tribes to already dislike Glacerians as they are described as blunt, rude, secretive and territorial.
i'm thinking something for the plot, maybe at sometime the tribes will have to join forces to fight wyverns
Well, if we were referring to the seasons in real time, Spring is currently falling onto us, so we can perhaps begin with a festival by the Glanaz people (since they hold one for every season) and something could possibly interrupt that is dangerous, unknown or out-of-worldly?
"But the world is black; our hearts are cold, and there's no hope. That's what we're told." Full Name Blake McCormick Nickname(s) The edgy teenager, he has none currently. Gender Male Age 16 Romantic Preference Doesn't really know, doesn't really care (to be explored). Abilities Weapon Void Carver, which is exactly what it looks like: a hybrid between a rifle and a scythe. It's specifically designed for all of your edgy needs, including slicing and dicing shoot 'em up on random forest creatures who probably didn't deserve it (good job, Blake). Personality On the surface, Blake appears to be extremely shallow, uncaring and even apathetic. He also has an extreme attitude that often causes him to insult others, make comments that are snarky or sarcastic and has a personality that stems from the stereotypical "woe it's me" behavior. Despite being rough around the edges, Blake can actually be surprisingly sympathetic and even friendly if approached. While appearing to be a sociopath with disregard for human emotion, this is actually far from the truth as he cares too much, causing him to ultimately create rifts of between between himself and others. Reason For Hearing The Melody He was lonely, bored and tired of life. Biography Born to a low income family, Blake lost his mother at birth. Never friendly with his father, who worked busy as a single father and relied heavily on women (and men) that he brought home from work, Blake never really felt a void for missing either of his parents and aged terribly to be a high-school deadbeat who rarely attended. For a while, he even picked up a vice of trying acid until the price "rose too high" (or at least that's the excuse he gave his dealer). Feeling sorry for himself, lost and alone, he has the unfortunate joy of finally hearing the melody. Weaknesses / Fears Special Quirks / Attributes / Traits Themesong TBA. Other
map updated, i hope you like it there
I shall. Excited to begin this RP. Too bad that not more people are signing up. Perhaps we should try an interest check to attract more?
i fixed my bio/personality and added a few things. nice to meet y'all. hello. i'm ryou.
Welcome to the RP and site as I'm aware you are a bit of a newcomer. I hope you enjoy this RP and the entirety of the time you spend on this site. If you have any questions, I'd be more than glad to help. That being said, I begun to look at some of the profiles and I have to say that I really give props to McHaggis for getting the setting of the world to a tee and everyone for intense creativity. If I feel better, my characters will be up tomorrow and two of each races and genders with varied preferences and ideals.
