Yiithren and his group sat in silence as events unfolded around them. First, Erthos and one of his men had addressed the room, presenting them two choices for worlds they could travel to from here. One by the name of Naboo and the other Kashyyyk. Both of which he described the inhabitants of, which would no doubt be useful during their inevitable encounters with them, before touching on the subject of the Empire, in which he made it clear that he was not asking them for help fighting them. Yet Yiithren knew that if they were all working together, they'd eventually come into conflict with this Empire. If Erthos depiction of them was to be believed, any force that posed a potential threat to them or their goals, be it technological or otherwise, would be hunted down from one end of the galaxy to the other. And this little group of lost souls from other universes could only hide their presence for so long before someone eventually found out about them and word of their existence made its way back to whoever was in charge...

The sudden sound of a report coming from the datapad lying on the table before him, jolted the captain of the Va from his thoughts. Looking down at the device, he watched in scrutinizing silence as the information was broadcasted. Something about a Lord Vader securing some place named Mustafar and forcing Separatists, whoever they were, to effectively surrender. There was a brief mention of droid deactivation codes, which meant these savages had some skill with technology despite how primitive it probably was, but Yiithren didn't have time to pay it much mind before Erthos spoke once more. This time about how his last option for allies was gone, though none of the Canthari could be certain of who he was referring to. Although, Yiithren supposed it really didn't matter at this point. Allies were won and lost at the drop of a hat. But a secure base from which they could all operate? That was a bigger challenge.

The captain looked up from the pad and watched as the commander addressed the room one final time before leaving. Nodding to himself more than anything, Yiithren got up from his seat in one fluid motion and shuffled out of the room in silence, his two crew members following while his mind began analyzing everything that had occurred so far. It was an impossibly complex situation with too many moving parts for his liking, but one both he and his crew had to deal with nonetheless. Letting out a deep sigh through his face tubes, Yiithren and his group quickly made their way back to the LAAT that had brought them here. Getting aboard, they watched and waited as the pilots powered up the engines and swung the craft out of the Resurgence's hanger and into cold deep of space once more.
Well there's that personal development post not set on the Resurgence. And I hate every word of it. Feels like absolute shit to me, but what's written is written.

Mihraan let out a small sigh as she stared through the semi-transparent casing of the sleeper pod, the white lights embedded in its walls dimly illuminating a small collection of items. An ornate looking rifle with a cracked scope, a small steel encased pad, the screen of which was blank, and a palm-sized crystal octagon covered with a strange cobalt blue liquid that had long since hardened into a thick crust.

"Never gets any easier does it?"

Mihraan nodded, casting a quick glance in Lathoor's direction as he approached.

"And the worst part is-" Lathoor continued, peering into the pod alongside her. "-he didn't even have to die. We could have left that hell hole of a world and come back later with an entire fleet to bombard it from orbit..."

"Lathoor, when will you let this go?" Mihraan asked, letting out an exasperated sigh as she gestured to the alcove. "Do you really think this is how Xi'ir would want to be remembered? With a grudge held against the choices our captain made?"

Lathoor sighed, his face tubes expanding slightly. "No, I don't suppose he would. But that doesn't excuse Yiithren for his actions. Oh sure he claims he's learned, claims he cares about us, but deep down, I think he's still just as cold as he was when Admiral Kost first appointed him."

Mihraan stared at him for a few minutes, before shifting her gaze back to the items in the sealed pod.

"I disagree, but I know arguing with you is pointless. You're too stubborn to listen." Turning away from Lathoor, Mihraan quickly shambled down the corridor before disappearing round a corner as she returned to her post to wait for Yiithren, Kurqruik, and Strevrols to return from their meeting with the commanders of the other ships, leaving the Va's navigation specialist standing before his comrades grave alone, bitter memories of a failed mission and a friend lost his only company.
Alrighty. Time for some conversations I guess. Might take the chance to expand on some loose lore I have floating around my head for the Canthari.

Yiithren and his group remained silent, aside for some excitedly high pitched burbling as they perused the navigation data given to them by Erthos. Let the others make their boasts and claims. He and his people finally had the confirmation they had been seeking since arriving here. And now that they knew where they were, perhaps they could find their way back to where they had been.

"So my original estimation was correct," Strevrols muttered as he flicked through the files. "We are in another universe. Hmm. How intriguing."

"Yes, very." Yiithren said curtly, his eyes narrowing as he studied the star systems listed on his datapad. "But it still doesn't help us with actually finding our way home."

"True," The Va's chief engineer replied as he put the pad down and turned to face his captain. "but it does confirm our peoples' theories on alternate realities existing."

"I fail to see how that helps." Yiithren replied, annoyance briefly flashing across his face.

"Well..." Strevrols began, leaning in and lowering his voice so the others couldn't hear. "We are at war with the traitors who nearly eradicated our people in ages past. Which means we need as much resources and firepower as we can get if we want to defeat them and take back what was rightfully ours. And it just so happens that we find ourselves in a universe completely unaware of us and what we can do. So, logically, perhaps we can use our stay here to our peoples' advantage..."

Yiithren locked a pair of eyes on his chief engineers hunched over form, rage burning bright within them.

"I should have you drug before the Council and executed for even suggesting such a thing!" He spat, almost alerting the whole room to their conversation. "We are not going to be the advance force for an invasion, and we will not, under any circumstances, enslave or purge its native inhabitants!"

"But sir, think of all the benefits our people could reap from claiming this place! Why with some of the resources here, we could-"

"No." Yiithren said with steel in his voice, cutting Strevrols off. "And that's final. I'm appalled you would even think such a thing, let alone think you could sway me to believing the same. Be glad Admiral Kost is not here, else I'd have you court-martialed and stripped of your position faster than you could blink! Never speak of such things to me again, or else I'll have you jettisoned into the nearest star. We are not tyrants like our ancestors were, and we will not make the same mistakes they did. The only reason we fight those traitorous empires is to defend ourselves. Nothing more, nothing less. Now start transmitting this data back to the ship's navigational systems." Yiithren said, casting a glance around the room to make sure no one had overheard them, before returning his attention to the pad. All while making a mental note to keep a very close eye on his now silent chief engineer for the duration of their stay in this universe.
You doing any better @ZAVAZggg?

Yeah. Slowly easing back into RPing with a star wars crossover one.

Yiithren and his group looked around the room nervously as negotiations seemed to creep closer and closer to an all out fight. While no stranger to war and capable of holding his own, even Yiithren knew that should someone start firing, the chances of them making it out alive were next to none. Especially with these Zerg sitting in the same room.

The more he looked at them, the more he was reminded of the creatures his people had encountered on isolated hive worlds back when they were just beginning to rediscover the galaxy. He would not be openly hostile towards them though. Not yet anyway. Hive mind like they may be, but it seemed as though they were subject to their Broodmother. Which meant they could be reasoned with.

He just had to keep them from feeling threatened enough to attack.

Something a certain Terran general was making extremely difficult.

"Look-" Kurqruik said, addressing the room at large as she stood up from her seat. "-fight this empire or don't fight it. It doesn't really matter. What does matter is getting back to our home universe's. And we can't even begin to do that if we just sit here bickering and casting blame for old wounds that have place in this reality." She finished, shooting a cold glare at both the armoured commander and the Zerg Broodmother before returning to her seat.

"My first mate is right." Yiithren said, glancing at her with one pair of eyes while the other pair watched the rest of the room. While it wasn't the most diplomatic way of getting these two to resolve their differences, it was a way at the very least. "Whatever issue's you have with each other need to die for the betterment of us all."

Yiithren nodded slowly at Erthos answer. So this empire was an antagonistic force then. And quite xenophobic to boot. Not a good sign for him or his crew. Or the Zerg as the woman, no Broodmother, had referred to herself. Though in all honesty the only thing he was concerned about currently was finding a way back. Who knew how time in their home universe passed in relation to this one? A minute here could be a century back home for all he knew and by the time they managed to get back, assuming they found a way to begin with, the Fallen Empires might have already won the war...

He shook his head, burying that thought as deep as he could. His people would be fine. His family back on their homeworld would be fine. The empire had more than enough resources and firepower to fight off the traitors, not to mention in depth knowledge of their weaknesses from the Cataclysm. Turning to Kurqruik, he leaned in closer and began consulting her on their next course of action. Especially now that a group had given away some of their data. It could be as a sign of good faith, or a means of luring everyone into a false sense of security. He doubted they'd shared everything they had at their disposal, as that would be an extremely foolish thing to do even for a primitive, so who was to say they weren't simply baiting the trap? It would be the logical thing to do after all.

Then again...

"Well Kurqruik? What do you think?" He asked, his voice low as two of his eyes remained fixed on the Zerg. He couldn't quite place his tentacle on it, but there was something about them that rubbed him the wrong way. Maybe it was their predatory gazes, or their hive mind like behavior. Either way, he didn't trust them. Not yet, anyway.

"About the data sir?" She muttered under her breath, her gaze and body posture relaxed, even though she was anything but. "I say we do the same, but only give them the basics of what we can do, nothing more. No need to reveal everything we're capable of to these primitives after all. Or upset Strevrols more than is absolutely necessary. You know how he feels about foreigners and our technology."

Yiithren nodded. He knew all too well. The last time a xeno had tried laying so much as a finger on any of the Va's systems, Strevrols had flown into a rage so great, he thought his chief engineer was going to strangle the poor bastard. Luckily he only chased the lizard out of the ship.

And the hanger.

And then the next city over.

But at least he hadn't killed him.

So that was something.

Turning to his chief engineer, Yiithren leaned over and told him to prepare some data packets in omni format for easy retrieval and translation by everyone onboard the Resurgence.

"But sir!" He whispered furiously his eyes widening in surprise and anger. "We can't give them knowledge of our technology! Not only is such an act a major security risk, but these savages don't even know the first thing about how our machines even work! And what if they try to replicate it? What if they-"

"Enough." Yiithren said firmly, cutting his compatriot off. "I don't plan on giving them much anyway. Just some general information about our people."

"But still..."

"Get the data from the ship Strevrols. That's an order."

Strevrols opened his beak, as if to make some kind of retort or defense, before quickly shutting it.

"Alright." He said, expelling a gust of air through his face tubes. "I'll give them some general history and the most simplistic guide to our technology and science I can find in our databanks."

"Good." Yiithren said as his chief engineer shut his eyes and took a breath, a sign that he had activated his neural translators secondary function. After a couple of seconds and a somewhat loud exhale, Strevrols opened his eyes and cast an uneasy glance at Yiithren.

"It's done."

Yiithren nodded as he smoothly turned his attention back onto the others in the room.

"Data transfer." He said simply. "Some general information on who we are and whatnot."

Yiithren was the first to break the silence that followed Erthos speech.

"So commander Erthos was it? I am captain Yiithren and this is my first mate Kurqruik-" He waved a tentacle in her direction. "-and my chief engineer Strevrols." Another wave. "Now that the introductions are out of the way, on our behalf anyway, lets get down to business hmm?" Leaning forward slightly, Yiithren focused each of his four eyes on the others gathered in the room. The intimidating looking humanoid female and her insect-like pets especially. They looked and acted far too similar to some of the hive minded hordes that had arisen on the remote worlds his people had found for his liking.

"First, how we ended up here to begin with." He said, absentmindedly flicking his tentacles, as though making hand gestures. "My crew and I were on a routine patrol of the Sawomia system when our sensors registered a space-time disturbance. A few minutes later and our ship was engulfed by a bright light. Next thing we knew-" Yiithren shrugged. "-we were here."

"Bahrun, luth'adan…" Strevrols paused, letting out a deep burble as he tapped the side of his head. "Damn neural translator. Anyway, where was I? Oh that's right, as I was saying, I think this phenomenon we, and possibly all of you, experienced was some sort of universal shift. To put it even more simply so your primitive minds can understand, I believe we have all ended up in another universe. It would explain why most of us are so confused and why the constellations are so unrecognizable. Now as to why you and your crew are here commander Erthos… that I cannot say. It may have been a strict case of temporal disturbance when your ship was transported, but without knowing the specifics of how you arrived here, I can't say for sure."

Kurqruik and Yiithren cast brief glances at their colleague, a bit shocked that he had been so... demeaning to those sitting around them, but then again, they were primitives.

Yiithren returned his attention to Erthos. "Erm, yes. As Strevrols says, the most likely answer to our current predicament is universal or at the very least dimensional travel. All that aside however, I do have some questions for you. The first being about this empire you seem so intent on avoiding. I take it they aren't exactly the most... hospitable group of people in this universe?"

Yiithren and his entourage remained silent the whole trip, examining the LAAT and humanoid creatures who piloted it with great interest instead of making small talk. While their technology wasn't as impressive, the current transport they were in felt and looked more like some kind of pre-space age pile of junk rather than an actual ship, it still managed to sail rather smoothly through the cold void of space. He had to hand it to these creatures. As primitive as they were, they did manage to construct quite sturdy craft. Even Strevrols had changed his original view, which had been outright refusal to even board the thing on the basis it looked like a death trap, once he had boarded and they had disembarked. A miracle really, as his chief engineer was the most scrutinizing bastard he knew when it came to foreign technology...

"We're here." One of their escorts said matter of factly, bringing an abrupt end to Yiithren's reverie. Odd. He'd been so caught up in his own musings, he'd completely missed the fact that they'd landed. Kurqruik and Strevrols had already disembarked and were waiting for him outside the craft in a well lit area, most likely one of the Resurgences main hangers.

Nodding to the man, Yiithren made his way out of the LAAT and into the brightly lit hanger bay beyond, his tentacles making slight slapping sounds as he traversed the ships metal floor. Taking a moment to examine his new environs, Yiithren took note of the overall construction of the craft. It was rather plain looking, all dull greys, and mostly angular in layout. Quite unlike the ornate style used by their own craft. His eyes narrowed slightly. Perhaps it was better, more efficient. Then again, perhaps not. Either way, it was still the most boring and aesthetically unpleasing thing he'd ever seen in his life...

"If you'll follow me." The man from earlier said as he stepped out of the LAAT and strode over to the three alien invertebrates.

Yiithren nodded, burbling slightly as his thoughts were interrupted yet again, and followed the man, his first mate and chief engineer in tow. After several minutes of walking, or shambling in the Cantharians case, they eventually arrived at a rather sizeable room in which a circular table with numerous seats sat. It appeared as though the delegations from the other ships had already arrived before them. Somewhat awkward, but not a complete disaster appearance wise. He took a moment to examine the others, most of which were noticeably similar in appearance barring a few exceptions. The main one of which was a rather fearsome looking woman who, while sharing the overall shape of the other species gathered in the room, couldn't be more different in terms of actual appearance. Blinking slowly as he finished his examination, the captain and his group laid claim to the nearest empty chairs they could find, quickly pressing their boneless masses into the cold metal objects.

Turning his attention back to the rest gathered, Yiithren decided to remain silent until Erthos arrived. Since this was his vessel, he'd be the one calling the shots here, not these others.

And until he showed up, there was nothing that needed to be discussed.
