I would disagree with that notion. I've seen various members of MR write extremely well—it just happens to be the case that this isn't a book. There's also a lot of time for character development without action sequences going, but focused on dialogue rather than thought and description, kind of like a movie.

I've played in enough balls to the walls RPs like that to have a very strong hatred for them.

Well I meant it's more like those RPs in the sense that the players don't know how to write. They just throw out one action event after the other with no moments for pause or development.

No, because I can't. None of us can. It's part of our game you see, and to suppress our powers is to welcome an early death. Look, have you heard of Game of Thrones? The books and TV show? It's like that but without a shitty ending and reality warpers in place of the Houses.

As for new players, no. But that's mainly because most new warpers are weak and generally end up getting manipulated along with the rest of the populace. In other words, they never even get a chance to see what true power is like.
