She narrowed her eyes as the doors down below were blown accross the room. The shadows seemed familiar but she couldn't remember why. Shaking her head she summons her sword and with one quick slash cuts rope dropping the elevator. Turning she runs the way they'd entered ready for any attack that came, 'If I was stronger I would try to stand and fight. Given his reaction that probably wouldn't be a good idea. I should probably let some of the others know,' she looks at Wes, "So what should we do?"

Masahiko was headed towards the archive when he noticed the transformation mage and another person headed in that direction. Shaking his head he walks over and steps in front of the two, "Wow you really are just as impulsive as I was told. Didn't I tell you to get out of the building?" he then notices the second mans arm. It was a mechanical arm that basically labeled who he was. He felt a small rumble. Ignoring it he smiled, "It's taken you longer to come here then I tought it would Jayce the survivor of Silver Hazw. Unfortunately now is a bad time. If you both could-" Suddenly the alert spells he'd placed on the lacrima and doors went off in his head. His eyes widened then turned extremely serious. He swore and spun around and began running, "I need both of you to leave now. It's about to get extremely dangerous here. Order the Rune Knights to evacuate the area under my and Granes immediate orders, as he runs he slips into his shadow and speeds of towards deeper into the Council Building.

you could make it that they appear mid attack which is what causes Damian to overpower Grane. Edit: also IT didn't you have a name for the event in your backstory?
