Going back to Elder Scrolls, they do have some really cool alternate ideas for elves.The Altmer is how I traditionally view elves.

Of the three playable ones, I tend to lean more towards the bosmer because the Green Pact is alternatively terrifying/ hilarious.

The maomer and dwemer are also really awesome to read about. The diversity's pretty awesome.

Well, we should probably acknowledge that the dwemer were evidently fans of ranged weaponry, given that they were the only race to invent crossbows, as well as have their own regular bows, and a lot of their automata are toting around giant fucking crossbows/ ballistas.

The Elder Scrolls has a shitload of elves, a lot that perverse the usual tropes. But it still has a race of ubersniper wood elves.

Not to speak ill of your friend's accomplishment, but I'd really like to see some stuff where elves aren't woodland dwelling ubersnipers who constantly have their land encroached by goblins or orcs.
