Current Remember, nobody actually enjoys roleplaying if there isn't at least five shameful fetishes uncovered by the 2nd page.

Somebody stole my mood ring. I don't know how to feel about it.

Let's be honest, it's far more satisfying and challenging to actually imagine what a character looks like than paste a hundred gifs of a celebrity and call it good.

So, a team of players who are good at playing as a team in a team-based game are individually bad players. Seems kind of silly when you put it like that, no?

My goal these days is to have an RP that can actually finish, or the very least, last a few years. I see way too many die on page one to take chances

I'm not sure what I think about this. We always treated bomb threats like they were nothing but an annoyance, we would get one every once and a while but they were always half-assed threats themselves. Only a handful of students, one or two administrators, and the PTA ever took them seriously. After getting 3 in one semester, we got two rent-a-cops who every teacher bitched about.

Same. The general consensus was that somebody called it in to get out of class for the day.

Also, no guards at my high school. Wasn't a very violent town.

For those who want a reference of who Burkswallow's new BFF looks like.

Are you implying slice-of-life rps are the 'bargain discounted movies thrown into a bin to rot forever and ever' of rps? ;D

All of RPG is that big ol' Walmart Bin.

Slice of life can be, I don't know, a Nicholas Sparks movie or something. >_>

I'm just saying that there's nation and tabletop etc, and slice of life is a pretty broad spectrum, that has a lot of different genres within. But yeah, tags would be good anyway. Like really good.

Nation and Table top are different style of play, not just a genre difference, hence them getting their own division (as by their nature they do not so easily fit into the free/cas/adv divisions that RPG uses). Slice of Life can easily be classified as one of those depending on the gm's posting requirements.

What Vanq said. Tabletop plays out like a board game with dice rolling and actual DMs and goes in sessions, or so the idea goes. Nation RPs are distinctly their own beast, kind of like Arena, where it doesn't fit comfortably in the Free-Casual-Advanced line of standards. The only thing separating Slice of Life RPs from say a sci-fi RP is less laser fire and adventures and more, I don't know, clock watching waiting for the weekend to start. Same standards apply to them, as do the formats.
Oh, good! I'd be sad if you dropped, Vivid. :D

Blegh. Studios need to stop making MMOs. They're not fun anymore, it's all repetitious garbage. The things that make single player games like Skyrim wonderful is the variety within the monotony, even if you're fighting tens of mercenaries in the cave, they all are a bit different in their looks, fighting style and approach. Their MMO equivalents are bland, look the same, move the same, and get killed the same. Plus, respawn is really immersion-breaking.

I think companies need to make more action oriented MMOs like Planetside 2. It proved you don't need hot keys and fetch quests to make an MMO work.

Hell, even Everquest Next is basically combining MMO concepts with a voxel engine like minecraft that let them literally shape the world and build their own towns. Now that is fucking cool.
I'm like 90% sure the tags are in the works.

As for a seperate thread just for slice of life RPs, I can't see it happening, simply because it subdivides the forum further and sets a bad precedent, as suddenly you have people asking for their pwn seperate forums for their own preferred niches. Easiest way to deal with it is to put the game type in the title or first thing in the interest check/ OOC.

Besides, Everyone has to go digging for a game that interests them, not just by genre. Think of it like digging through the discount movie bin at Walmart.

Good thing it doesn't! And these are about on the same level of the old ones.

Most of this seems to be people sniping at each other over recent events instead of, y'know, confessions.

Yep.It's great.

I played the beta, I enjoyed it, just not 15 dollars a month enjoy. I don't have the time to get invested in a game that requires me to pay into it every month. I'm strongly considering removing my Xbox Live subscription for that reason.

The real players are on ESO now.

You mean that game that plays almost nothing like an Elder Scrolls game, has serious bugs like bot cloning exploits, and a new video every week on YouTube about people cancelling their subscriptions?
