Current Remember, nobody actually enjoys roleplaying if there isn't at least five shameful fetishes uncovered by the 2nd page.

Somebody stole my mood ring. I don't know how to feel about it.

Let's be honest, it's far more satisfying and challenging to actually imagine what a character looks like than paste a hundred gifs of a celebrity and call it good.

So, a team of players who are good at playing as a team in a team-based game are individually bad players. Seems kind of silly when you put it like that, no?

My goal these days is to have an RP that can actually finish, or the very least, last a few years. I see way too many die on page one to take chances

Welcome to Spam.If people want to seriously enthuse about anything, I recommend they start their topic in the Member's Lounge area -- topics tend to stay more on track there and are treated more respect. Anything posted in Spam is generally a throw away topic, where no one really expects it to stay on track. (The only things that really get enforced for staying on topic is if someone posts a game.) Now, as a moderator, I definitely require things to stay civil (within reason), but I generally won't enforce topics staying on point in Spam. (It would be somewhat contrary to the true purpose of the section.) Right now, knowing the members who have replied to this topic, I see a lot of sarcasm and no real attacks on anyone. Sarcasm tends to run thick in this section -- try not to take everything posted so literally and you'll do fine.TL;DR - Everyone get the knot out of their knickers and play nice.

Don't worry. I have a contingency plan in place.

Barely, you fetus.

Anywho, I saw the movie last night.

It's rental worthy, but don't expect it to be overly funny or high-brow. The action scenes are pretty cool and the Shrek Turtles you can get used to after a while, and their personalities are pretty much intact, except Michelangelo is the most obnoxious piece of shit ever. Megan Fox is pretty meh and feels like she's phoning it in most of the time, and the big plot twist of the movie can be predicted the minute you see the character appear.

Also, Shredder has power armour with like a dozen launching magnetic blades. It is ridiculous as shit and not in the fun way.

Misa ruined Deathnote. Sure, it still were a pretty good read/watch, BT MISA RUIND DETHNOTE.

Her voice was by far the most obnoxious thing ever. Voices like that are why I typically stay the fuck away from Japanimes.

Other than that, Death Note is actually a pretty solid show I quite enjoyed watching.
RPG is accepted, 'cause he went through the PM gauntlet of Soul and myself and he was a personal invite. Everyone be nice and don't spray him down with urine like the last guy.
I'm scared to sign on and see what's happened to my place.

Hey guys. Still alive. For now anyway. Laptop is still getting fixed - My main board died on my laptop and the part is still on backorder. Was 900th in line, now I'm only 300th or so. Yay. Going through a rough patch right now. Girlfriend and I had a nasty fight while she was a little... plastered, and I am not sure if we will be able to keep dating. No job anymore, either. Could be worse, it could be raining, though.

Jesus, it seems like everyone's been having problems with relationships lately, and you aren't the first player I've had in one of my games say it was because of drinking. :/ Sorry to hear all that man, I hope stuff gets sorted out fairly painlessly. Maybe your laptop will get bumped up in cue? Either way... that's pretty rough!

Yeh, it kinda sucks. But I just got a month of Xbox live, and my Copies of GTAV and Red Dead Redemption are working. Got Halo 4 too... Any of you want to keep me company, I'm called MangoCobra there. =-> I still have masseffect3, but idk if Multiplayer will let me have my stuff from my old 350. Hit me up if you want, my niggs.Oh - I'd love to read it, BTW, :)

I have RDR and Halo 4, and I'm pretty sure that your ME3 stuff is carried over because it's tied into your Origin account that you signed up for when you set up multiplayer access. It's worth looking into! I think I have you on XBL, although I'm rarely on.
Shoop, weren't you just going around warning new members not to come to Spam?

Hypocrite.
Hey, I completely understand and I am really sorry for your girlfriend's loss. I've had to say goodbye to a lot of relatives the last few years, so it's still pretty fresh with me. Take all the time you need, alright?
Meanwhile, Maryev is standing there, all,

"There is absolutely no amount of rupees on this planet that can possibly make this clown show worth it." :D
A big problem with Casual is that because it gets by far the most traffic, you get the widest range of player skills, and truth be told, many people are basically Free-level writers who are either trying to "move up" to Casual or don't want the stigma attached to it/ find parts of Free disagreeable, like speed posting, lack of organization, etc. Likewise, there's a lot of people in Casual who should be trying Advanced out but either feel it's an elitist snob haven or intimidating. These are the kinds of mindsets we should be trying to dispel and lead by example.

Anyways, I bring that up because you may be running into people who still are getting into roleplaying or are finally trying a game that has standards and don't really have experience in making a character, so they stick with what they know or like. Another potential issue I see far too often is people who approach RPing like a video game with classes, equipment values, and archtypes they need to fill plus a mindset of "I have to win".

Whatever the person or their reasons, the best way to approach it is to critique their sheet and point out what you find questionable without being rude or confrontational. Don't be afraid to demand effort from applicants, because if you force them to meet your expectations while showing you know what you're doing, you'll be left with generally solid players with diverse and interesting characters. Ultimately, it's your game and your standards. There's no reason you should have to cater to somebody you don't think would be a good fit for your game.

If you want, I can help you out with your game and tell you how I'd handle certain situations or character submissions. Send me a PM if that works!
