My name is DJ. I am a roleplayer. A roleplayer of roughly a good decade now. I write a lot of things, and am able to roleplay a lot of things.
Random Things about me - I run a small YouTube channel. - I listen to a helluva lot of music. Love music. - I'm from Singapore. It's a little island in Southeast Asia.
Anywho, I've not been RPing for a long long time, but here I am, hopefully to make a few friends and RP some.
Allan followed Max as he paced out into the living room and came face to face with a door that shouldn't exist but it did. Where there was once a blank wall now stood a white door, with a black handle. The existential ramifications of such a revelation were...startling, to say the least, but as he gingerly approached the door and laid a hand on the handle, a shiver went up his spine.
It was real.
He turned back to look at Max, who was frozen in fear.
"Not recently, no. I haven't had any for a while now, actually."
Allan sat on the edge of Max's bed, kinda giving him a concerned once-over from how bedraggled he looked. Bess shifted closer and laid her head in his roommates' lap, staring up at him with her cute brown eyes and floppy ears.
He smiled and gave his dog's back a pat.
"I think maybe Bess can stay the night with you, Max. She's a real comfort."
That said, he rose.
"Anyway, if everything's alright, I'll be headed back now. Sleep well, Max."
Two hours later 4:22 am
The loud, all-encompassing roar that echoed through the house startled Allan awake, and from Max's room he could hear Bess going crazy. She was barking at something, the thing that made that loud noise, and that made him fear for his safety.
Allan scrambled out of bed, threw the light on in his room and ran outside, where he found Linus in Adrian's doorway, scared out of his wits. A fair bit frazzled himself, he spoke.
"Linus, you okay? You better go check on the rest. I'm gonna go see if Max is okay."
That said he advanced to his roommate's door and threw it open, finding Bess on the bed, haunches up as she barked and yowled at a corner of the room, which was empty.
Appearance: Simon stands 6' 1" tall, weighing in at a paltry 165 pounds. His physique is that of a lean, muscled man, not much weight on him but he's fit enough for his duties. With a head of messy brown hair and brown eyes, freckles and a slightly crooked nose, he isn't a real looker either, all in all putting out an image of your average everyday human male.
Personality: Simon is one of those people that sticks out his neck for his friends. Very humble, helpful and caring for those under him, he regularly makes himself out to be one of those guys that is liked by everyone in the workplace, even though he's mostly silent. He communicates his happiness or pleasure the most with his bright smiles and cheerful demeanour, even if he says little. More often than not, his actions convey his feelings more than his words do. He is also slow to anger, and takes criticism with a level head and optimism to soften harsh words or gestures. He is also often referred to as a mediator or a counsellor, in part due to these tendencies of his.

Equipment
This set of lightweight, high strength, flexible plas-steel armour is the latest in PharmCo's line of military-grade medical gear. It comes in built with multiple sensors on the gloves to detect a casualty's pulse, breathing rate and blood pressure, along with a small array of miniature x-ray beams that transmit a direct image of the skeletal or organ structure of the casualty to the user's helmet visor. The armour also monitors ambient weather conditions like oxygen, pressure levels, temperature, harmful gases and radiological or biological hazards in the vicinity of the user. Finally, rounding out the armour's sensory capabilities, it also monitors the user's own vital signs, displaying injuries where they are sustained on the body. Its crisp, white design also comes with a red cross on the left breastplate and on the shoulder pauldrons, not depicted in the picture due to the above being a representation before final painting.
PharmCo Field Combat Implants This set of biotech implants serve to augment and assist his armour's functions in the field. They are:
Eyes: his retinas have been fitted with very thin, light contact lenses that are able to wirelessly receive and display information sent to them from his armour. These include a HUD with his own vital signs (heart rate, breathing rate etc), a compass, micro-map and various vision types like infra-red or low light.
Nervous System: PharmCo's revoluntionary wired nerve implants have served as one of Simon's greatest aides. These wired implants serve to vastly accelerate the speed at which his brain sends electrical impulses to the various parts of his body, thus greatly increasing his ability to react fast to threats.
Heart: PharmCo have graciously given Simon a pacemaker grafted onto his heart. The little coin sized device will jump start his heart if he goes into cardiac arrest. The battery itself is solar powered, being able to be charged by him simply being out in the sunlight so his skin can absorb the energy and store it within itself. However, it also serves a dual purpose, as it's also wired to his hands, which leads to...
Hands: Implanted within his hands are insulated shock pads which are wired straight to the pacemaker in his heart. These two implants together function as a defibrillator built inside his body. Rubbing his palms together activates the defib function of the pacemaker, and by placing his palms on the appropriate landmarks on a casualty's body and blinking twice, he delivers the charge straight to the casualty.
Skin: lightweight dermal armour has been placed all through Simon's skin, giving him protection against mild things like knives or blunt force trauma if he's without his combat armour. The dermal armour also serves as a solar panel for the pacemaker on his heart; it absorbs the sun's energy when he's out and about and stores it within the pacemaker's battery.
PharmCo Full Surgical Field Assembly
One of PharmCo's finest inventions, the FSFA is a set of armour rigging and webbing that is designed to fit over any of the company's many lines of combat armour. The rigging is specially made for field doctors or surgeons, and contains a myriad of sleeves and pouches designed to hold medical equipment designed by PharmCo, or otherwise. These include the AMSD, the LASC, and a wide array of other medical devices, such as medigel tubes, morphine syrettes, disinfectant sprays and other related equipment. Simon's rig comes fitted with the following:
5 x PharmCo MediGel Tubes (Instructions: twist open top, squeeze contents liberally onto wound) - These small, palm-sized tubes are full of PharmCo's proprietary MediGel, a non-toxic gelatin-based healing agent that speeds up cellular growth and regeneration, and prevents profuse bleeding. Its method of action is, after application, the cold gel rapidly warms from body heat and melts, turning into a liquid that diffuses and is absorbed quickly into the body. Once there, haematostatic agents within the liquid act quickly on open blood vessels, causing clotting and preventing any further bleeding, while regrowth agents activate and superspeed the body's ability to heal, quickly sealing any small or medium-sized wounds. The gel is quick-acting, and are normally used in the field by combat medics to stabilise casualties with small to medium-sized wounds. Larger wounds, however, will require more stabilisation than just gel and morphine. Designed by PharmCo to be effective on any form of biological tissue, human or alien!
5 x PharmCo Quick-use Syrettes (Instructions: pop top with thumb, insert needle end into exposed flesh, wait five to ten seconds, remove and dispose) - These syrettes are filled with numbing morphine, and are made from a special 3D-printer and refiller within his armour's chest plate. He can only carry five at a time and the amount of spare morphine he carries is limited to another ten syrettes.
1 x PharmCo Disinfectant Aerosol Canister (Instructions: pop top, shake well, spray on area to be treated) - Also known as a simple disinfectant spray, this hand-sized spray canister contains a specialised liquid that, upon being aerosolised, is capable of removing 99.9% of bacterial or viral agents in a specified area. It also contains a moderate amount of a topical anesthetic that numbs an area in preparation for treatment.
1 x PharmCo Malleable Splint - A mid-sized device, this roll of malleable, high-strength plas-steel is made for casualties with broken limbs. Once removed from its plastic seal, the splint can be unrolled and then formed precisely according to the limb that is injured. Once formed, the material will stay solid and stiff while the casualty is being transported, and is easily cut open or removed upon reaching a field hospital or surgical suite.
PharmCo Laser-Assisted Surgical Cutter
Everything it says on the tin, the LASC is a glorified laser cutter, small in size so that it fits within one of his kit's recesses. The LASC operates on the basic principle that doctors or medics in the field need quick and easy access to wounded soldiers' flesh, and PharmCo's solution was a high-powered laser cutter that could easily eat through the layers of adaptive armour and webbing that comprised a regular Terran soldier's gear, yet was safe enough to use without cutting the casualty underneath. Their solution was a high-strength, low-intensity laser that merely heated flesh to a slightly uncomfortable level, but was strong enough to penetrate multiple layers of armour and clothing with ease. All this was packed into a neat pen-sized device that is able to be carried anywhere feasible on the body.
PharmCo Adaptive Medical Solution Device
Unlike what its elaborate name suggests, the AMSD is essentially a medigun. Developed by PharmCo's experimental research division, the AMSD, or Amsad as it's affectionately called by the staff, is a hybrid between a battle rifle and an all-purpose field medical apparatus. In its battle rifle form, it fires slugs made of superheated steel shorn from a single rectangular magazine within its grip through the use of magnets powered and operated by an onboard computer system, making it an effective railgun. Its medical uses are far more diverse, as apart from being able to preserve the life of its user through rapid application of molten metal into potential aggressors, it is also able to be loaded with alternative ammunition, by way of overriding the main barrel's load with an external feed. These are:
Painkiller Rounds - These special capsule rounds are designed to be fired at allied targets. When they burst on impact with a solid surface, say armour, the pressurised liquid painkillers within aerosolise and disperse into a cloud that a soldier can inhale to suppress his pain and keep on functioning as long as it takes for a medic to reach him.
Morphine Syrettes - If the medical officer or orderly on hand does not have the time to reach for a syrette from his back pouch, he can instead load a syrette that's already attached onto the gun's side into the rifle's breech on the top of the assembly. Once done, the gun's onboard computer system detects that it is firing syringes, and will lower its power output significantly to reduce injury. Pulling the trigger will apply the syrette similar to an injection gun, and the syrette is easily removed by simply pulling the gun barrel away from the patient's flesh. Of course, if the gun's safety system is overridden, it can and will fire a syrette at railgun speeds with deadly accuracy, though it's not designed to. Each AMSD comes pre-fitted with two syrettes on either side of the gun assembly.
Surgical Staples - Just like the syrettes, each AMSD comes pre-fitted with a double load of superstrength alloy staples, on either sides of the gun in small, disposable loader magazines. When a load of staples are pushed into the rifle barrel, its computer detects the wanted function and lowers its power levels to make it function as an overly large staple gun. Once this is done, the AMSD can be used to quickly close gaping wounds, similar to a modern medical staple gun. And, just like the above mentioned, if the safety system is overridden, the AMSD will fire its staples with deadly force, though it's not designed to.
MediGel - The only load for the AMSD that is not dangerous when fired, MediGel is able to be loaded within the AMSD and applied over a longer surface, much like how a glue gun works. The rifle's barrel is more suited for insertion into slightly gaping wounds, thus allowing the medical officer or orderly to apply gel to deeper wounds, thus stimulating healing from the inside out and enabling him to quickly treat a casualty with moderately serious wounds.
Bio: Simon Brewer is a surgeon and combat doctor, human of course, but not born on Earth. Instead, he came to be on a colony on Mars, and his interest in medicine was piqued due to his family's attachment to the colony's lone clinic and surgical suite. The clinic itself was the only actual medical facility on the industrial sprawl that was the Mars colony; conditions were poor enough and the injured and dying that arrived in their makeshift A&E usually didn't survive the week.
Mars itself was a horrible place to live; after its early colonisation, a huge industrial sprawl was built on the Red Planet's surface, presumably to house infrastructure that would be used to manufacture much of the Duchy's machines, tools and vehicles. However, due to the planet's low levels of natural resources, coupled by its distance from the other colonies and worlds of the Duchy, the Mars colony was soon left on its own.
From an early age he was attracted to the study of biology, the human body, what makes it tick and so on, and his parents were happy to help him in his studies. After high school they enrolled him into medical school back on Earth, specifically in New Boston, after which he graduated as an assistant medical orderly. Shortly thereafter, he furthered his career in medicine and became a full-fledged doctor, specialising in reconstructive surgery, before returning to his home on Mars to work at the family hospital in the slums.
It wasn't long before Simon's talents were found by PharmCo. The roving military medical company's talent scouts approached Simon with a proposition: work at one of the most prestigious medical firms in the galaxy, and in return have the opportunity to explore the furthest reaches of space in their everpresent attempts to understand alien biology and to deepen their studies of medicine in both human and alien physiologies. His interest highly piqued, he signed on, and after three months of preparatory training, he was shipped from Mars to one of PharmCo's largest life ships, the PCLS Nightingale. Once there, he was given a lab for his own use and he joined the Nightingale's research staff as one of the doctors en suite. With the PharmCo staff, he looked into the effects of their proprietary products, like MediGel, on both human and alien test subjects, as well as helping them test various sets of equipment meant for their military wing.
Soon it dawned upon him that PharmCo, as ambitious as they were, were a primarily military company in structure, as most of their inventions went to the Grand Sol Duchy's military, for use in battlefield scenarios in the hands of field medics and surgeons. And, by that time, Simon had grown bored of the ship life. Tempted by the prospects, he approached his superiors with a request: have him be a field tester for their medical military gear and technology. The job came with high risks - death obviously being one of them, injury being another, getting shot at being a third - but the perks were higher; he'd get to visit more alien worlds, use the gear provided by the company, along with a larger risk pay packet and hefty bonuses for putting his life on the line in the name of medicine. He agreed on the spot. A new contract was signed and two weeks later Simon was on his very first deployment as a medical officer attached to a Federation Navy vessel, where he underwent rigorous physical training to meet the military's standards.
His first deployment was to the GSDN Staedtler, an abandoned colony vessel found adrift in deep space. There, he was the only survivor of a mysterious alien enemy that wiped out the team of soldiers he was attached to, and he only escaped by the skin of his teeth, goal unaccomplished, evryone else dead. After being summarily pulled from his field op unit, his dossier and duties in PharmCo were put on hold while the company decided what to do with the traumatised doctor. It was then that news of the Outlander reached their ears: a recruitment call for a desparate mission. It was the perfect opportunity for one last field test. With that, they sent Simon by shuttle to the Outlander as their lone medical officer, decked out in gear that would make even the best combat medic jealous.
Quote: "Stay still, I'm trying to help you. Just keep calm, relax. You're safe."
Cole isn't a very imposing individual. His build is lanky, though not very tall, and size-wise he's tiny compared to the likes of his friends. His hair is medium length, wiry and messy, which ties into his overall unkempt appearance. His eyes are often big and wide, like he's in a perpetual state of surprise or fear, no big news there seeing as he can see things others can't, and one can't help but wonder if this poor young man is older than he looks. With sallow cheeks, constant bags under his eyes, high cheekbones and a shark hooked nose, he looks less like your typical nineteen year old and more tired and stressed beyond his years.
Attire:
Cole is often clad in a sweater and jeans a size too big for him and sneakers. He regularly carries around a black backpack and often carries his phone in his hand or in a pocket of his sweater.
Personality
Innate & Outward Personality:
Outwardly and inwardly, Cole is a mess. Being constantly bombarded by information didn't do much to help him develop a normal personality, and as a result he's rather twitchy, shaky and nervous. Around people he doesn't trust, he tends to shy away from them, preferring to spend his time alone with his computer or phone where preferable. However, if you do make an attempt to befriend him, he's rather well intentioned despite his personality flaws; it's not that he wants to ignore you, but it's because he's seeing things about you through your phone that he doesn't want to be a big dumb about.
Around friends, though, he's a lot calmer, restrained and relaxed. Those he considers friends are those he trusts with his life; not only because they know what his powers do, but they trust him not to go do anything stupid with it.

History/Bio:
Cole wasn't always this edgy. In school he was often the quiet but strong individual, the one that preferred to sit at the back and study and didn't mind the occasional bullying or teasing from the bad kids who occupied the back seats. He was the nerd who would stand up for the other nerds and didn't mind getting beat up.
It was one of those after-school hazings, however, that awakened his powers and changed his life forever. After a trio of bullies left him bleeding and curled up in pain in an alley behind the school, he began to see streams of data around them and in those streams he saw their information; their phone numbers, tweets, social media posts, browsing history, text messages, credit information, every single nasty secret they hid away on their phones in their private lives. It wasn't until a week later that he realised that he could manipulate those streams, and thus enacted a little vengeance by surrepticiously leaking several lewd photos from their phones onto the school servers, prime fodder for those that would later find them.
However, his powers came at a high price; they never turned off and he never figured out how to. Whenever he went outside to go for lunch or traveled home, he'd see hundreds, maybe even thousands of streams all weaving through the air, information bombarding him from every direction, numbers and words and pictures screaming at his brain with every step, and no matter what he did, he couldn't stop them.
Eventually he began to retreat into himself, finding technological isolation to be the only way to turn his powers off. By removing all forms of computer technology from around him, he found peace, and through this he found his way to the Haven where, by some stroke of luck, barely any data streams taunted him, only those of the patrons and staff. Haven was where he eventually met and made friends with Audrey and Marcus, and came to work in the cafe to make ends meet.

Abilities
Power Class:
Elemental - Energy
Power:
Data manipulation; Cole is able to see and feel the invisible strings of digital data that weave through the air, ground and walls of daily life. Nothing is beyond his reach; not machines, not mech suits, nor nanites or cybernetic devices. If it contains a computer capable of even the simplest calculations and/or is connected to some form of network, he will be able to find its string and access it.
By plucking a string from the air he is able to determine where it originates from, where it's being routed through and where it's going, thus allowing him access into even the most secure of computer or digital systems. Using this link, he is able to access this string and project himself into the string to virtually probe or browse through the data packets contained within the string, akin to "hacking the Matrix" as it were.
Using this ability, he can do a great many things; spy on people by indirectly accessing their webcam or phone cam, listen in on conversations with phone mics or security cameras, indirectly start up machines from their boot source or control traffic signals from their signal station, etc etc. Think Watch_Dogs, but instead of a computer program, it's an actual person inside your system.
Electromagnetic generation; as part of his computer-based powers, Cole is also able to generate an electromagnetic field. This power of his allows him to attract metal objects to himself or have them orbit around him or some such, shut down electrical devices with an EM surge, or fry cybernetics with a concentrated EM pulse. He can also extend a very low power and low frequency electromagnetic field around himself to detect devices or signatures around himself by reading fluctuations within the field.
Limits:
Cole's data manipulation abilities can only affect systems and devices that are on. If a device, like a computer or phone or tablet, is turned off, he will be able to find it but will not be able to turn it on. After all, digital data doesn't translate to a physical button press. Same goes with networks; if a particular network is down due to a power outage or something else, he will not be able to access any data strings that route through that particular network. For example, if Verthaven's entire phone network goes down, he will not be able to access or route through any data strings that originate from phones. If it's the Internet, he will not be able to go online while within a string.
His data string powers only extend to a tiny field about two feet around him. He is not able to extend this field in any way. Using these powers also drains his stamina, and the more he uses them the more tired he gets. If he overdoes the usage, he is prone to passing out for an unknown length of time.
Weaknesses/Drawbacks:
His data powers never turn off. Ever. He constantly sees strings of data all around him, and their contents often leap out at him, keeping him in a constant state of awareness about his surroundings. Looking at him, it's like he's constantly being distracted by things that aren't there. The only way he is able to drown it out is by sleeping or actively forcing himself not to think or visualise the ambient data around him.
Because he uses a lot of stamina to use his data powers, more often than not he has to take frequent breaks to replenish his stamina. He can only use his power for several minutes at a stretch before passing out cold. The more intense the usage, the quicker he gets tired and the longer he'll be out for.

Appearance
Hair Color:
Auburn
Eye Color:

Ethnicity:
Russian
Physical Appearance:
Standing proud and tall, Audrey is the image of a woman past her prime. Her build is that of a strong, well built woman athlete but after a few years of neglect. Her muscles are still toned and strong but she hasn't used them actively for a while, resulting in a physique that although appears to be strong, she's weaker than she appears. Her teeth are yellowed slightly from all the cigarettes she smokes, as are her fingernails. Her face is composed, though more often than not he default expression is a scowl with a cigarette clasped between her lips. She has a small forehead, sharp chin and a crooked nose from how much it's been broken and reset. Her knuckles are calloused and scarred, and she walks with a very slight limp. Crows feet adorn the corners of her eyes, and they're often at a slight squint, as if silently judging whoever she looks at. Her hair, brown, is short and close cut in an almost military style.
Attire:
More often than not Audrey can be found dressed in a simple t-shirt of any design and/or colour, along with a pair of blue jeans and either shoes or sneakers. Her work clothes are that getup paired with a cream coloured apron with her cafe's logo emblazoned on the front and a baseball cap, usually either cream coloured or dark green. She has a faded blue digital watch on her right wrist and has a plain silver wedding band on her left ring finger.
Personality
Innate & Outward Personality:
Outwardly, Audrey is a rough woman. She manages her cafe well enough that she's liked by her patrons and employees alike. She's understanding and knowledgeable, but also blunt and loud at the same time. She expresses her opinions very clearly and draws a line whenever she thinks others are getting too close or are annoying her. More often than not warnings of violence are heeded, her build being a major factor in keeping the peace in her cafe.
Inwardly, she is a worried one. Being separated from the daughter she knows and loves is a harsh truth to bear, and though she works tirelessly to see her again, the stress is often evident in her behaviour, for she smokes when stressed or bothered, which is often. Anyone who approaches her with offers of emotional help are politely or bluntly declined; her belief that she has to be a strong, independent woman often clashes with the motherly worry that she experiences often.
On the job, she doesn't smoke, but she takes regular breaks to light up one to calm herself down if things are getting rough. Other than that, her mannerisms both on and off the job are that of a friendly, if rough-and-tumble, woman who is looking for some relaxation at the end of every stressful day.

Her cafe, the Haven. It's her lifeblood and her home.
History/Bio:
Audrey was born not in America, but in Russia, in the stark, cold of Moscow City. Growing up, she had a healthy dislike of learning, instead putting her time and focus into sports and fitness, stuff that she, young and naive, believed was more visibly important than studying. Her grades barely got her through school as it was, but her strong presence in her school's wrestling team more than helped her along the way. After she graduated, she was approached by a teacher from a kickboxing school, offering to teach her in the ways of fighting to eventually become an instructor at the same school, an offer she eagerly accepted. The school, of course, gave her many a bruise and lots of aches and pains, but it gave her a sense of fulfillment to go along with the suffering. Audrey eventually took part in her first ever kickboxing tourney and won third place; an achievement frowned upon by her teacher but who nevertheless praised her for her accomplishment.
As the years went by, she took part in more and more tournaments, until the Russian Kickboxing Federation recognised her as a rookie in the national standings and decided to place Audrey in her first ever major national championship. She quickly learned, however, that going to the nationals was way above her skill level, and it was with a heavy heart that she accepted her defeat and elimination during the qualifying rounds. The loss only fueled the eager fire within her and she trained ever harder, determined to win.
Around this time was when she met her to-be-husband, Brian Novovich. The man was an American-born Russian who'd flown to Moscow to participate in an annual friendly for expats and foreigners to fight against locals. During the friendly they fought against each other, and after the match was over they fell for each other quite readily. She'd lost, but the pain she felt was way less than the love she'd found for Brian. He suggested that they move to the States, where the competitions were more lively, and she agreed.
Fast forward ten years, during which they had a daughter, named Catherine, they almost filed for divorce due to fallings out between them, and now Audrey lives in a small apartment above her cafe, the Haven, in Union Hills, just near the beach. Her former glories, kickboxing and athletics all behind her, she lives alone and tends to her cafe. Her husband and daughter live elsewhere, out of State entirely, though they keep in semi-regular contact. She'd refused to leave Verthaven even after Brian had found out she was a metahuman, even after the horrendous events that had occured within the city involving people like her. He took her daughter and left out of concern for the family's safety, and she's never seen them since. This was around the time her cafe attracted two metas who became her employees and subsequent friends; Marcus Rowland, a rowdy athlete and adrenaline junkie, and John Sykes, a quiet, soft-spoken computer nerd.

Abilities
Power Class:
Elemental
Power:
Smoke control; Aurora is able to control smoke in all its forms: dust storms, exhaust smoke, cigarettes, from fires, etc etc. She is able to disperse whatever particles are within the cloud into her surroundings or condense the cloud into a thick, murky mass that blinds and affects the respiratory system of anything caught inside it. She is also able to "grab" smoke to wield it as a weapon akin to a whip, using its semi-solid nature to harden her smoke whip or chain whenever it impacts something for maximum damage.
She is also able to turn her body into a semi solid smoke form, wherein physical attacks cannot hit her, instead they pass through the smoke that makes up her body. She is able to travel through air ducts or vents with this side of her power, along with being able to mask herself in a cloud of smoke if a source of it is present.
Limits:
The power is limited to only herself. Sustaining her smoke form takes stamina, and she cannot maintain it for more than a few minutes straight without having to stop before she passes out.
Weaknesses/Drawbacks:
Because her abilities are very reliant on smoke, she requires a source of smoke somewhere about her person or in her immediate vicinity in order to function at 100%. As such, she usually is seen smoking a cigarette or cigar, but catch her out near the ocean without a stick or a place where smoking is forbidden, and she's very much powerless. The constant smoking has also affected her respiratory system (gee who would've thunk it) and stamina as a result. She has a persistent cough, and cannot sustain any strenuous activities for more than a few minutes at a time without having to catch her breath.
If she gets wet, she will be unable to transform into smoke, though that doesn't stop her from manipulating it.
Wind affects her smoke form more than she cares to admit it; though she is able to maintain consistency of her smoke form in a gust of wind, she will experience difficulties in fighting the wind flow. In ventilation systems, her movements are virtually limited to where the wind blows.
Woken suddenly from a deep, dreamless sleep, Allan lay in bed, eyes wide and staring at the ceiling as one of his roommates, presumably Max, screamed out from one of his nightmares. Bess was curled up on the bed too, but her head was up and ears perked at the horrible sounds that her friend made.
Unable to drift back to sleep, at least for now, he slipped out of bed and into his fuzzy slippers. Bess quietly padded off the bed and joined his side as he yawned and shuffled towards his door, grabbing for the knob in the dark.
He missed, just by a hair.
Allan rubbed the sleep from his eyes, grasped the knob and pulled his door open. He made his way to Max's door, Bess by his side the whole way. When he opened his roommate's door the black lab slipped inside first and leaped deftly onto the bed, bumping her cold, wet nose against his cheek as she sniffed over him in her curiosity and concern. Allan remained in the doorway but switched on Max's room light.
