You ever take a look at the forum board, not see anything of ready interest, and decide to just go about your day? Figured I'd see if a new game was interesting, nope, ah well.

Writer's block is a pain, but if I happen to owe anyone apost, I'll be working on them tonight, hopefully. Might go surfing, see if any games catch my attention.

Bio
I already did an earlier introduction, but this is something one could always see, so let's roll.
Serene is the pen name that I use over on my old G+ account, which if you're able to find the account before the site shuts down, is Serene Selphia, but no fancy url, lol. But to those I'm close enough to, my nickname is Chris, and if I ask you to not use it, its nothing personal, I'm just not ready for that level of friendliness. That isn't to say I'm not a friendly person, just that I can be a bit professional when it comes to stuff. I've been rping since like...2011 I think? If I could find the Minecraft rp forums I started on(yes those were a thing, it was actually full of good rpers, but all good things come to an end of course), I'd have a precise date.
I roleplay a lot of things, well, that was the old system. About four years back, I settled down in a roleplay community on G+ called Temple of Glory, and began to stick to just one character who I kept working on, using other characters as I felt the need. That was my current primary character's father, a character I'll call the Professor for now, as I intend to post a version of his character sheet later. Probably when doing so wouldn't spoil what became of him in a storyline. Anyway, after a point I burned out as him, and switched focus to his daughter, who I use primarily in the old roleplay hub I come from. The Good Doctor, and here, no spoilers, mostly because ahaha, I'm shy about that.
I love a lot of series, but my heart goes out mainly to Rune Factory, Sonic, Mega Man, Metroid, Mario, Pokemon, and Duel Monsters. Especially Rune Factory and Sonic, though lately I've fostered a love for the Nasuverse, Fate Grand Order is a fun time. I love to read a variety of things, and I'm always online unless sleeping, so feel free to drop me a line if you need it. While I'm relatively new to the site here, I'm an rp veteran, and a skilled writer, as you'll see whenever I post the Doctor's current profile.
Ah right, more on me. I'm a college senior presently, I just had my capstone for my history degree wrapped up, and I'm proud of my progress. While I am a loner by nature(I mean my writing often keeps me trapped in my room to meet paper deadlines), I'm still a sociable person, and if you can't reach me here, my Discord is Serene Selphia#1064. So I suppose that's a bit of a spoiler, but to who, I won't say. Just be forewarned, if you ask me about a character of mine, there's a risk I'll write a lot, so make sure you're totally fine with that.
In terms of roleplay, while I do mainly fantasy/science-fiction, I can roll with just about anything(as far as I know), but if I tell you its not working for me, don't take it personally. I'm a fairly detailed writer, and in terms of style, I'm good with both combat and non-combat related narratives, I mean, my current main was built for combat initially, whereas her father is more the sociable type. The most detailed things tend to when I describe the world around, or when writing profiles for characters I adore. Basically, if I'm in tune or really love something, you could get a lot. I once wrote about twenty pages on a google doc in two hours because I loved it so much. Weird flex sure, but you can understand it. I don't look for much in rp partners, so long as you can write me enough that I understand either what you're doing, or what's going on, I'm usually good. I'll generally drop a line if I need more information.
I love learning, so if you ask me about something, and I don't have an answer, I'll gladly take the time to do at least a basic amount of research. And if you're ever stumped for ideas, drop me a line, I'm always glad to help fellow veterans or the newer folk. Heck, at one point for a friend's group I wrote an entire(albeit unused) document full of random plot ideas for the group drawn from throughout film and video games. Point is, if you need someone to talk to, unless I'm in a bad mood, or its a bad time(aka I'm about to go to bed, or in class), I'm always up for at least a quick chat. I do take commissions, so if you want a fanfiction written, give me a holler, or if you just want a custom story about a character of mine, or just ask for them to give their input on something in a non-serious setting. Still debating what to set prices for, or if I work totally free...I mean I should charge something, but anyways, wew, talk about a ramble, eh?
I'll make an IC post in the next few hours, I just have to go through all my notifs here, and then check my off site stuff, then assuming I don't get lazy and go watch Netflix or Youtube, I'll get to work on the first IC. Not sure how I'll format it, but I'll try my best to make it good. Thanks for the accepteance!
"The view sure is nice from up here, transmitting bird's eye view of battlefield, standby for map data."
[None ⫻ Dark Rockverse ⫻ 20 Months ⫻ Undecided/Lawful Neutral]
▼ APPEARANCE ▼
[hr ][hr ] "Yes, this is my default design, I am an airborne model."
Of average figure, 967890's body from neck down is covered for the most part in a black seemingly skintight material, hard to the touch. Her eyes are blue, and her long wavy hair black. Her feet are held by heels, and she has a pair of small, metallic like structure that extend from her shoulder blades.
▼ PERSONALITY ▼
[hr ][hr ] "I was designed for aerial observation and data transmission, I'm nothing special."
A model designed for transmission of combat data from on high, there are times that 967890 can seem flighty, but these are rare, compared to the baseline template used for her series. She tends to be straight and to the point, calm, and relaxed. That isn't to say she doesn't become nervous, as often happens when questions about her kind or her people are posed, in part due to her youthfulness compared to some. That isn't to say that she feels nervous due to her age, rather that her lack of exposure to the rest of the vast Imperium, as she never experienced the same thing the majority of her race has. Especially given her lack of going through the standard growing cycle of most Rock Androids, being a factory model, rather than a nursery produced unit. In other words, a quiet, nervous, but usually stoic Rockroid who hasn't had time to develop her own personality matrix.
▼ BACKSTORY ▼
[hr ][hr ] "As I said, I'm nothing special, I'm just here as per orders from the Master Diplomat."
When the Imperium became aware of other universes is something that not many can guess at. Given the vastness of the interstellar empire, it could have been at any point after the vanishing of their Goddess, to as late as within the past few years. Regardless, it was decided at a council of Masters, the second rank of faction leaders, that the Diplomatic Faction would be best suited to the objective of interacting with the other universes, before deciding if it was necessary to conquer them. After all, perhaps this was a test from their Goddess, their maker, so being as careful as possible, so as to not fail, would be crucial. Extensive hours were spent discussing just what to do or who to send of the Diplomat Faction, when a younger model, hailing from one of the worlds held for several centuries and stabilized, who had been silent throughout the meetings between Diplomat Masters, offered to be part of the group sent to investigate these other worlds. With this decision made, quick redesigns were made to the young unit, a weapon issued, and the proper power of flight. A former factory model that was expected to barely go anywhere beyond the role set for them was now on a course for who knew what.
And then, when no one was looking, she was plucked, yanked to the Initiative, before the Rock Imperium scientists were ready to send her to a nearby universe to explore. You can imagine the confusion back at the Imperium. As for the young Rockroid, she initially assumed that the test had been a success, only to learn...well this wasn't her superiors' doings. She's not much to look at, but perhaps she could be what is needed to help change things and restore reality? Notes: Not my best attempt at a backstory, but its hard to work atm, as there's a thing that keeps disrupting my focus. I can easily make changes as needed. Basically she was a scout unit selected to decide what other worlds might be like outside of the Rockverse, only to get shanghaied by a power none of the Rockverse's higher ranked members could have seen coming. Hope this is good.
▼ ABILITIES & EQUIPMENT ▼
[hr ][hr ] "Nothing fancy, exactly what's needed to achieve the goals, I can fight, and I can fly. Exactly within parameters for design."
Rock Imperium Standard Buster Pistol - A small pistol like weapon wielded by many of the Imperium, and used for when the higher end weapons just are too messy. The Diplomat Faction is most known for using these weapons. While small, they're linked to the owner's weapons database, and can thus change to fire different Special Weapons when needed. Special Weapons in this case refers to data that replicates a feature of a defeated foe, that while less effective generally due to both the pistol's size and the new user not being a master by any means, may have different applications. At present, she lacks no Special Weapons, merely the pistol's ability to adapt to new ammo, and even use other world's energies as firepower, as well as the charge shot function. Normal function under normal conditions can kill a human being with about five shots, charge shot, while taking time, can destroy buildings, and anything below with ease. Unless said building is made from materials that render its durability higher.
Anti-Gravity Flight Modules - A pair of wing like constructs that produce an anti-gravity field when in effect, allowing the user to hover in mid air, or soar through the skies. Allows a top speed of 50 kilometers per hour, but can only last for about half an hour before needing to land and recharge.
Variable Weapons System - Also known as the Weapons Adaption System, allows a Rockroid to take the combat data of a fallen opponent, and gain a usage from it. In some cases, this may come in the form of increasing jump strength, movement speed, new attacks, or even need weapons. There are limits to this, such as applications that require means beyond a given Rockroid, such as the unit not having blood rendering blood related powers useless directly, or an ability that would be detrimental to the user can be applied, and thus cause issues.
Systems Adaption - While 967890 is not a Forest Monster, and thus unable to attain the same benefits as some models would have, the Adaption module allows her to steadily grow and evolve her systems on her own over time. This is done through training, or some other mechanism, allowing her to keep getting better. Slow gains, of course. For a mental image, think any series where training allows the user to grow steadily stronger and stronger, same idea here.
Limitless Energy Module - The source of power for 967890's systems, a self-sustaining system that seems to produce an endless stream of energy, though in reality, it should not be mistaken for an "infinite" supply, rather that under normal conditions, 967890 cannot run out of energy, due to the upkeep being about equal to or below the supplied amount. Going above in battle conditions will eventually force her to fall back and recover, generally taking about a minute to reach full capacity, before rejoining the situation. This is due to a slow depletion of the energy core that it cannot keep up with at present. This will eventually be overcome through the Systems Adaption. The central production core is located where a human heart would be, with backup smaller modules located in various other places.
Advanced Processing Unit - Located in the head, allows 967890 to process the world in multiple spectrums, akin to a wide spectrum camera, at a rate that to a normal person would make the world seem to be in slow motion. In other words, allows her to process and react to lightning speeds of movement, as is essential to a unit designed to gather data on a situation, and be up to date for allies.
▼ LIMITS-WEAKNESSES ▼
[hr ][hr ] "Like I said, I'm nothing special."
While able to process and react to high speed motions, 967890 is not a combat unit, as such, her defenses and strengths are low, putting her around city block for durability, and building level at max with weapons. She also lacks a defensive shield matrix, meaning that she must always be running around, to avoid issues. She's also not good at interactions, due to being separated from the semi-hive mind of the Imperium. She also lacks combat training, and can be clumsy. She is a fast learner, though.
▼ OTHER ▼
[hr ][hr ] "Let me work, that's why I'm here."
Not much to be said here, she's young for a model, and still learning. I mean, one moment you're in a sea of minds conversing about the latest trends, to now being alone, amid a group of people she knows not, nor understands exactly. Additionally, the lack of an actual name is normal, fresh models only have serial numbers, AT stands for Aerial Trooper, the number is random. A name is earned amid the Imperium when a given unit does something worthy of acquiring a name. Hope this is good, had to work amid chaos at home.
So this is a question, tied to how I've seen it done in a few places, but for folks who end up having characters last a long time through multiple story arcs(same thread or not), like a "main" do you end up taking time between needing to reply to work on little side stuff, like character responses to say, an ask box?
Asking because where I came from, some of us put together these collections containing loads of little character trivia that we wrote as we developed our characters over years and years. That and in the place I came from, we had an ongoing narrative, one world backdrop, with folks going wherever they wanted, while occasionally world altering plots popped up. We also had other connected writing groups, and would go between them for story adventures(in other words, we went to different G+ comms for different tales, like going to an Eggman based community to battle the bad guys on their home turf, or visiting an ally comm and accidentally sparking an intermultiversal war that lasted all of a month before the guys who barged in got their asses handed to em multiple times).
Just wondering if anyone else has done this, I've not seen any setups here for something like that, but it never hurts to ask, y'know? I might just be missing things. I just found it was a nice way to record the organic development of a character, and also let me goof off and do some fun in character stuff that while not full on canon, does shed light on a characters current mindset. Currently trying to get all that data I wrote over the past three four years safely downloaded, so I can bring some of it here.
Hope this is fine to post, wasn't sure what the best title was, and well, as you can see, I sorta rambled, lol. What can I say? I love building stories, and going on all sorts of whacky adventures. While I may never get to use my "main" from elsewhere here readily(not unless a GM sees the sheet I have planned to post soon that's a very slimmed down version and wants to have the character at least make a brief cameo), beyond say, my own stuff, I still well, want to share my work, and see if anyone else has done something quite like this.
Always fun to experiment with ideas and stuff, I suppose-
Name: Neo Metal Sonic Race: Super-Badnik Gender: Programmed Male Age: Unknown/Irrelevant
Personality: IDW Neo seems remarkably similiar to his Heroes counterpart, but with the modifications made by Doctor Eggman during the events of Forces, it has been shown that while loyal to the Doctor now, he still retains the ability to think for himself. Using Robotnik's biodata, he carefully plans and schemes, using drones to keep remote eyes on targets, while proceeding on his own objectives. Silent unless its necessary to address a matter, its hard to get a good read on the being.
Powers/Abilities Power Replication - The power that Neo Metal was most famous for, and made him stand out from his counterparts. Via using the copy/scan data, Neo Metal could absorb the bio-data of his opponents, applying this to himself. This can allow him to use their powers, signature moves, skills, or even have their stats, with some minor limitations that would most likely only come up in a situation outside the scope of the games(such as blood manipulation or other powers that require aspects that Neo Metal cannot replicate). He can also assume their form through shapeshifting. Currently Absorbed Bio-Data: -Doctor Eggman: Grants Neo Metal a great deal of planning skill, along with other associated skills, and of course, the ability to assume the Doctor's form.
Super Speed - Even before assuming Neo Metal, Metal Sonic was designed to be on par with that of Sonic in every stance, and in later games after CD, he would be able be to improve himself with Sonic's biodata. While Forces Neo Metal never appeared due to being unfinished, it can be assumed that should he encounter Sonic, he will obtain his latest data. For the sake of plot, we'll assume Neo is at least massively hypersonic, since I'm not sure if he can be scaled safely off of the Battle Feats, I need to double check. Plus, this is for fun, don't need to be perfectly accurate with feats.
Flight - Via the engine on his back, Neo Metal is capable of limitless flight, though it is unknown if he can fire a chest laser like his normal counterpart.
Black Barrier - An omnidirectional defense matrix that is activated when the user crosses their arms. Negates incoming attacks while the field is active, unless they're designed to bypass such a barrier. Doesn't stop forward momentum or any momentum, which can prove difficult(See the Archie comics for its best on screen depiction, while IDW Metal doesn't have it, my friend who played a Heroes Metal had it in his tool kit, and its a nice toy).
Enhanced Durablity - Shown to be able to tank attacks from Sonic with ease, and even would end up overpowering Sonic in a fair fight. Take that as you will.
History: The same Metal Sonic who was to be presumably disposed by Shadow and Omega at the end of Heroes, but instead ended back up in Eggman's clutches. During the war to free the planet, Neo Metal was returned to his former status, and extensive changes were made, recreating his loyalty to Eggman, while also removing some past restrictions to his Metal Overlord Transformation. While in the game canon, Neo was not finished in time due to the Resistance winning on the third day, and would go on in IDW to become the new Eggman when he could not locate the Doctor, in the current canon, he was finished shortly after the defeat of the Resistance. And with allies both old and new, set forward with one task...
To eliminate the loathsome inferior copy that was Sonic the Hedgehog...
Trivia: Information was taken from the wiki for IDW Neo, but it lacked a personality section, so I made due. Left out the Super Neo transformation and Metal Overlord due to them not being needed, but I can provide reference later as needed. Hope this is good, found some time to work on it and get it done. If adjustments need to be made, they can be.
