I think over his question; I remember closing my eyes and relaxing as the big spoon… And the next thing I know, I’m suddenly the little spoon and waking up to Caden’s perfect German. ”Ich glaube, das habe ich tatsächlich getan. I wake to the smell of breakfast cooking, which is not something I’m used to in my own apartment. I sit up and run my hand through my disheveled hair a few times in an attempt to smooth it down before going into the bathroom real quick. Once I leave my room, I can hear my dad humming in the kitchen, singing along to a mandarin song he’s playing from his phone. When he sees me enter, he passes me a full plate of food with a cheery greeting. I have little bit of a headache from the late night, but I manage a smile and a thanks for him. We sit down at my little table, saying thanks before we both dug in.

I’m pulled tightly into Caden’s arms. My eyes fly open. Did I actually sleep? A shiver runs up my spine and I wiggle in his arms from the kiss and the little whisper of German. ”G-guten morgen.” I manage to say, highly aware of how warm my face feels.

I snort at his last comment. “I’ll keep that under advisement.” I say with a giggle. It’s not long until I hear him breathing deeply and soundly, bringing a relaxed smile to my lips. I stay reading for a while, but soon I’m becoming too relaxed. Carefully placing the books by the bedside lamp before turning it off, I wiggle my way under the covers and cuddle up behind Caden, letting him unknowingly be the little spoon. I close my eyes and try sleeping for the first time I can remember.

When Caden comes back out, I bite my lip as I stare at his bare chest. He doesn’t give me long to bask in its glory, however, because he’s already crawling back in to the bed. I’m thankful that he positions me closer to the light source. ”Schlaf gut, mein Drache.” I tell him with a smile, tempted to kiss him but knowing he needed to sleep.

When he asks, I hop out of the bed easily to go retrieve the books and set my empty glass down. “I’ll be a Braver kleiner Kobold and stay here reading these.” I tell him, throwing myself back onto the bed with the books in hand. ”Unless that’ll keep you up?” I ask. I could take the time while he’s sleeping and go retrieve some things, but I’m rather comfy here.

Pouting, I give him a playful glare. “Listennnn,” I say, dragging the word out before taking another sip of my wine. “I just kept thinking of popping over to the party and kidnapping you, ait was hard to concentrate.” I tell him while sticking my tongue out at him before throwing him a wink. The touch of Caden’s hand rubbing my arm is hypnotizing though, so I snuggle my head back into a position on his shoulder and close my eyes.

I laugh lightly and shake my head. “Fremdschämen.” I say as I follow them a few paces behind while Caden opens the bottle and pours the wine into glasses. I happily clink with them before taking a sip, enjoying the depth of flavor. Tempted to dive into the bed, I traipse over to climb onto his bed and take the seat next to him, tucking my legs underneath me.

“Noch nicht, aber ich habe auch keines der beiden Bücher bis zum Ende gelesen.” I say, leaning against him and resting my head on his shoulder. I watch him leave and close the door behind him, a little too stunned to move for a moment before I finally get up to change. The set is a long sleeved top with pants and as much as I don’t want to go overboard with tempting Caden, I only change into the shirt, folding the pants and leaving them on the chair he had thrown his jacket on. I hear a knock and I smirk. “Wer ist es?” I tease. For a moment, I think about hiding somewhere in the room, but I don’t think that will go over as well a second time.

I look up and watch him as he talks, let my legs dangle off the side of the bed and kicking them a little as I smirk. “I have never been referred to as a nuisance.” I tell him the lie easily as I take the clothes from him, not expecting the kiss that followed. I blink a couple of times in surprise and the kiss is already over.

“Mm? Klar, Wein klingt gut, ja.” Nodding, I stumble a little over my words as I try to regain my composure, but I don’t think I’m very convincing. “Vielen Dank für die Pyjamas.” My face is warming again and I want to dart under the blanket to hide.
