Was talking to someone who worked in closed captioning who is now getting a new degree because so many companies are turning to AI to close caption now… Which AI is pretty shite at it still.

Games I haven’t been playing video games lately, but once I pick them back up again, I’ll make this list

Nic brushes a hand over Cass’ hair very gently, as not to cause any more frizz, before he kisses her forehead. “I think that’s a great idea.” He glances at his phone wen it lights up and sees the time. He gets up and puts the hair supplies back under the sink before he crawls into the bed, under the covers. He leans back with his arm across the bed so Cass can lay on him if she wanted to.
“Let’s get you some sleep though, okay?” He smiles.
“I’m sure my dad does - my parents didn’t want to get rid of anything of hers after… she passed.” Nic says, his smile turning a bit sad as he deftly finishes off the end of the braid and wraps the band around it securely.
“I still need to ask him about what he wants to do with his shop, my parent’s house…” Nic trails off as he remembers they were going to have lunch with his dad and Kiki tomorrow, but doesn’t say anything out loud. That might need to be postponed for now.
Nic kisses Cass’ cheek before he starts sectioning off her hair, getting it ready for him to start at the top of her head. He really enjoyed that Cass referred to his little sister as ‘your Kiki’. “Well, I think I’ve told you that she was the sunshine in people’s lives, but she also had a horrid stubborn streak before the diagnosis.” He starts twisting her hair into the braid as he talks.
“See, they wanted her to become a doctor too and she flat out refused. It was quite the argument she had with my mom that day… My dad and I could only just watch as they yelled at each other. That riff quickly subsided after the diagnosis, though. My parents didn’t care what she chose to do, just that she lived. She had told me she wanted to become an artist - she wasn’t sure what kind yet but… she was already so talented, I know she would’ve made a name for herself.”
Nic can’t help the little smirk het gets as she looks away after complimenting him. “Well, it’s certainly a good thing you have both then.” He says, brushing his thumb over Cass’ cheeks.
”Alright, let’s do a Dutch braid - that should help your hair at least try to tame itself.” He gently pushes on her to sit up.
Nic grins now, glad to hear her laugh - the other one hadn’t sounded normal to his ears but this one does. “As long as you leave my pretty face alone - I rely on these good looks.” He leans down and kisses her nose before resuming the great task he’s given himself. Her hair just bounces back to its shape with each comb through, the frizziness still there, but it’s starting to become easier to run his fingers through her hair.
“What kind of braid would you like? And how many?” He asks as he starts to section off parts of her hair.
Nicholas snorts at her question. “I must admit, I’ve never done this for an ex.” He tells her, looking down with an amused half-smile. He starts at the ends of her hair, gently pulling the comb through to get any knots.
“But if you do fall asleep on me, I can’t promise I won’t make you look like you hail from Whoville.” He teases.
Nic kisses both of her hands before releasing her wrists. “Thank you.” He says, sliding off the bed and finding the basket under the sink easily and bringing it back to the bed. He pulls out a wide tooth comb and sits on the bed next to her.
“You can put your head in my lap while I get the tangles out if you’d like. You just let me know if anything hurts, okay?”
His smile widens and Nic nods. “Thickest hair I’ve ever seen in my life to this day.” He says gently, a little laughter in his tone as he remembers how many brushes and combs he broke trying to take Kiki’s unruly hair.
“I’ve done it for some of the kids who come through the ER too, tell them that they have to have their hair tamed to make it easier for the doctors.” His lips quirk up in a crooked grin now.
Nic grins, chuckling at Cass’ reaction and catching both her wrists easily with his hand. He held them gently, not wanting her to further tangle her tresses. “I was going to braid it for you - will you let me do that?” He asks, mirth dancing in his eyes.
Nic leaves the door be and joins her on the bed, letting the cats in his arms free. “I usually just sleep sprawled out, so I’m good with whatever… As long as I can hold you.” He says with a smile. He leans over and plays with her hair. “Where’s a brush and some hair ties? Your hair needs a bit of taming.” He says this with a smile, twirling a curl around his finger.
