Well, everyone was on board. Or he had to assume so. Andromeda didn't say anything either way, but she'd been ready to dive in all the way up until this point. Well perhaps discounting that brief stint after Siduri mentioned the end of days and before she made her way here. That seemed to have shaken her up a bit, but regardless, her time to speak up about that had passed, and if she wanted to opt out, she'd have to do it the way everyone else did.

"Well said, Gilbert." It was a succinct explanation of the loop, although he could not help but feel that Siduri was well aware of the time loop in place, but that her reason for haste persisted even with that fact in mind. But that was merely a hunch he did not want to put to words just yet. Again, it did no good to bring unnecessary panic to the conversation which was packed to the brim with impending doom as it was, so if she did not bring up some issue to undercut the safety of the time loop, neither would he.

"Patience, Faith" Gio reprimanded the Paradox. "Just because you know where to go for a trip doesn't mean you leave without packing. We need a solid plan in place that covers everyone, not just you. You want to cross a desert without preparing an appropriate amount of water beforehand. Now that we're certain that our will is indeed collective, we can indeed begin planning on how exactly we're going to become stronger as a unit as well as individually. You might not like the delay, but the time spent with proper preparation pays dividends."

"And if you will forgive me for cutting in on your question, Siduri, I'd like to begin with a proposition for how to begin as well. At least the sparse framework of how we could proceed. Begin by splitting our current class of Paradoxes into two groups and allow them to run a mission by themselves, and if each group succeeds in their quest, than they run a short-term mission solo."
He would rather ease into this more gradually than the structure he had laid out here, but he could not help but take into account the feeling that even in this loop they did not have the apparently infinite reserves of time that they appeared to have. And if they were to quickly build up competence, it would be through struggle. With this plan, they could first work towards unity and then self reliance.

Now came the question of where to stash her leftovers. A few thoughts ran through her head. She could just toss it in the back seat. But there it'd likely to be forgotten to be discovered by the next renter. Glove box? Same problem. On the dashboard it would just be a visual block. And the floor put her sandwich in an uncomfortably vulnerable position. She could just hand it over to Zoie, but she didn't want to burden her with holding onto a bag for the next few hours. Finally, she just decided to leave it on the middle section between the seats and hope that she didn't have to make any sudden stops.

While Zoie went to throw the trash away, Mali switched seats and immediately set to adjusting everything. The seat was too close, her legs were squished against the pedals, and she wanted it dialed forward a bit further. Some people liked to recline back and ride, but she wasn't about that. There were places to go, and she needed to be dialed in. With everything set to her satisfaction and both passengers buckled up, she was ready to roll. When Zoie flicked on the nav system, Mali couldn't help but look over. Well yeah it was telling them where to go, but the paranoid aspect of her piped in again. It was uncomfortable with the idea that their position was being precisely tracked at all time. How did those lyrics go again?

I take a pride in probing all your secret moves/My tearless retina takes pictures that can prove. Sure you could argue that not every satellite and GPS is controlled by Juno, but after watching Relic in action and all the computer shenanigans, Mali was pretty certain that it didn't really matter too much if it wasn't. If they wanted the information they could just take it. But it did no good to get lost over mostly unwarranted neurosis. She just had to reason that chances were that they were obfuscated or unimportant enough that this wouldn't fuck them over royally. Mali sighed once more and set forth towards Grimm.

"Relax, Mr. Grady." Gio spoke up a slim smile of bemusement on his face, gesturing with an open palm towards the wereboar to signal things were alright. "The dragons in all of this conversation have been purely metaphorical. I was speaking in a more generalized sense. A dragon can be any problem you have to face. The desire not to face your boss at work. Alcoholism. Impending health issues. But in this case the danger the dragons pose are far less mental and emotional and more in the concrete physical. Probably even more dangerous than an actual dragon. But enough of this metaphor, we have worn it out enough as it is." Notably, Gio made sure to not actually give James a direct yes/no answer to his question of dragons actually being a thing. It was fun to let them sweat about these things, even though it was a bad time to be messing with people.

"Now," Gio now stood and turned to direct his words directly at the Paradoxes, "this is the time for all of you to affirm or deny your stake in this gambit. What's that phrase they use at weddings these days? Speak now or forever hold your peace? I'd like to hear from each of you, are you going to stick with us and assist in our battle to find Evelina and avert the End of Days? It will be rough, and there's a not insignificant chance that you may die. Again."

"As shorthanded as we are, the last thing we need is someone dragging their feet because their heart isn't in it. Alexandra already opted out. Any of you are free to do so as well, but for those of you that remain, I expect utmost diligence from here on out. Well? Are you in, or out?"
Perhaps it was somewhat of an odd time to pick for a gesture such as this, but they had reached something of a course to set sail on. The Watch determined that it would be best to weed out any remaining people that weren't fully invested before hunkering down with the minutia. In a loop or no, time was not to be wasted.

Well on the bright side, the truck just seemed to be a truck, and not someone tailing them from Juno in the aftermath of the party or trying to track down the little artifact dice-thing that they seemed to be after. They had run into Caesar earlier, but maybe there really wasn't anything too fishy going on in the area and she had just been letting the neurotic parts of her head get the better of her. Probably not, but it was a good reminder regardless that not everything is part of an insidious conspiracy out to ruin things for everyone.

Mali finished her chicken sandwich, feeling pretty satisfied. It was a fast food chicken sandwich all right. Sure she'd had better/worse ones, but simply having the heft of a significant amount of food in her gut after all this time provided pleasure enough. She briefly took stock of her physical wellbeing at this point. She felt decent enough overall, maybe starting to get a bit sluggish. She could eat the other chicken sandwich pretty easily now, but if she did, she'd probably end up feeling pretty sleepy behind the wheel. Well, leftovers it was.

"Hey, you ready to trade places, Zoie? I'll take over for a bit." Mali wiped her hands as clean as she could with one of the spare napkins that they got with the food before she roughly sealed the opening of the paper bag before rolling it up tightly. Had to make sure that there'd be no accidental spills. And the car was a rental, but it was still bad form to cover the steering wheel with greasy hands.

"Alone does not mean traveling with a companion, Bartholomew." Perhaps the reply was harsher than it needed to be, but it was irksome for him to ask that question right after Siduri had answered it before it'd been asked. How hard was it to simply listen to what someone had to say.

He did catch the glance of concern from Gilbert, but Gio didn't acknowledge it with more than a glance in return. Even Gio was not so deliberate as to not be able to make an immediate decision when the circumstances were as dire as they were. At least a decision that was as broad as the general direction they were going to take moving forward. They could work out the specifics later, but times of crisis required unity and promptness. The matter of Faith on the other hand was too specific and too important to not discuss.

"The idea of one of our few remaining Paradoxes venturing out alone now, unexperienced as they are is not one I find myself very comfortable with. However, it is through facing great danger, fighting the dragon as it were, that the greatest gains are made. The issue comes when you end up simply being eaten. What is your thought on this, Gilbert?" Gio wasn't opposed to Faith making this journey after getting some more experience under her belt. But if she left as soon as possible, the risk-to-reward ratio simply was too far out of their favor in his eyes. If she was the only one who had any significant chance of finding Eve, losing her due to recklessness would land them in what could potentially be a checkmate, but perhaps the separate perspective of The Hat would provide a more three dimensional view of how exactly to progress.

"Well yeah. Everywhere has poor people. Take a trip over to Tanzania, find a small town and you'll probably find their equivalent of rednecks. Names are probably a lot longer and harder to pronounce. Say what you will, but Bubba doesn't pose a challenge for anyone to holler." She'd run into some African immigrants in the past. Not Tanzania, but... she actually forget where the guy said he was from. Nigeria? Let's go with that. It was an entirely different country, but the principle still followed suit. His last name was some 15 letters long and began with an N but was spoken with a W- sound. Mali didn't even bother to try thinking through the rest.

Mali fished out one of her chicken sandwiches from the bag and unwrapped it. It never ceased to amaze her how different the pictures on the menu and advertisements were from the food item itself. Yeah, she knew that those had the benefits of food photography, she wouldn't have been surprised if they were actually plastic models or something. But you unwrap the sandwich and sitting in front of you is a squished, misshapen mass, lettuce strewn haphazardly about it and one of the tomato's barely hanging in the bun. But hey, nobody went to McDonalds for presentation.

When Zoie pointed out the truck, Mali's gaze followed, her mouth rendered unable to reply due to it being filled to capacity on chicken. It was rather odd that the type of ego truck that was normally reserved for suburbs was hanging around a location that could actually use those vehicles for their intended purpose. She didn't want to get to wrapped up in conspiracy theory before she could finish this sandwich; however, she wouldn't have a ton of time before becoming commandeer of the wheel.

"Agreed. It's no use rushing into trouble unprepared and half our estate ignorant of the situation. Whether it be handling Destruere, locating Evelina or dealing with this End of Days, our best course of action is to strengthen ourselves as best as we can." Gio had missed the point about one of the Paradoxes "opting out" when it was first brought up, so it took a second to gather that this was a topic in progress when it was brought up that Alexandra hadn't been seen for awhile, evidently passing on to a potential next life. This was an inconvenience in that they were strapped on resources as it was, losing yet another Paradox only short-handed the staff even further. But at the same time, he couldn't help but feel that at least they hadn't really lost anyone of value. None of the newcomers had developed to a point of being truly reliable, and even before then, she had managed to piss off Nancy in a way that rarely ever occurred. In the end, this was merely another factor the three of them would need to take into account moving forward.

There was one eternal truth: everything had to end eventually. Perhaps the benefit of an unaging existence disguised this immutable fact from the other Emendators, Gio never bother to ask. But he knew that at some point it was all going to be over. It was not the same sense of impending mortality that mortals had, but it was a stable fixture in the way he viewed the world. The passing of the Glasses only brought that certainty in the pit of his being into clarity. If this End of Days was something natural that was due to occur in the "near future" he couldn't be too torn up about it. In the meantime, he'd do his best to keep things together.

"Ah Madam Siduri," Gio returned his thoughts and words to the... Siduri sitting across from him. "Forgive me if this is getting ahead of myself, but will you and your... compatriots be staying with us for an extended period of time, or will you be gone by the time morning comes?" She did come to them, so logically she would stick around to help with whatever it is she wanted them to do. But he had a hunch that wouldn't be the case. However, even if they were dirty and unpleasant by and large, the aid of a large number of people with Paradox-like abilities would make things much easier moving forward.

Mali sat back and contemplated what she was going to eat. It'd been quite some time since she'd eaten at McDonald's, so she wasn't entirely sure what was it that they had, but it was probably safe to assume they hadn't gotten rid of any of the "classics" on their menu. They had a grilled chicken sandwich didn't they? She was probably going to end up defaulting to that, but it couldn't hurt to go over other potential options before going the safe route.

Anything fried was immediately out of the question. Potatoes, chicken, onions, fries, didn't matter what was being fried, she wasn't going to go down that road. Likewise, she wasn't going to get any dessert options. If she was going to get a burger of some kind, it'd be best to maximize the meat-to-bun ratio, but the issue would be that the burger would have a shit ton of fat too. Any fancy, specialty burgers would probably be smothered in some kind of special sauce that would just compound those issues further. Going along those lines, a double quarter pounder would be best. But did she actually want this? It was around this point in her thought process that she realized it was her time to order.

"Oh, um. Could I get two of your grilled chicken sandwiches. Just the sandwiches. And a cup of water." Put on the spot, the boring option won out from force of habit. Perhaps in greater quantities than she'd planned, but Mali had a feeling a single grilled chicken sandwich wouldn't have quite enough substance for one meal. And if by chance it was, she could just save the second for later. Maybe dinner or lunch tomorrow. The idea of leftover McDs wasn't the most appealing, but after years of forcing herself to eat far less appealing food items in the name of results, she wasn't too worried about it.

"It would have been wholly unnecessary for the two of you to venture to that time and place," Gio replied to Gilbert. "I had just spent the past couple of days there, and was planning on informing you of what I'd learned. But now is not the time to discuss such things. I would not wish the needlessly derail the conversation from the more pertinent topics."

Gio decided not to immediately address Siduri's question about if he was willing to alter the timeline in such a manner that would potentially erase the existence of the Emendators. Partly because he didn't exactly mean "start from the beginning" as in "directly alter events that had already transpired," and as previously stated he wasn't going to derail the conversation from more important topics. But the other more pressing matter was this matter of "end of times." Being the Emendator most strongly linked with time itself, this was a pretty big fucking deal. The matter of past training debacles would remain the same.

"Furthermore, might I ask for some clarification," Gio began as he followed Gilbert's lead from the open air to the sitting room. "What exactly do you mean by 'end of times?' Do you speak of the total end of all things, the end of the status quo and a change to an entirely new paradigm, or some other outcome that I haven't mentioned?" It was important to not let oneself be panicked when confronted with bad news, especially when one did not truly understand what it meant. He knew she knew quite a bit, and had an entirely different perspective on things than they.

But one thing rang true, the fact that she had come to them with this information meant that there was something they could do to fix things, even a bit. But to do so would require them to have their facts straight. Once in the sitting room, Gio found a suitable chair and sat with one leg crossed over the other, hands laced together atop his knee.

"It's like the Bermuda Triangle of the States," Mali added, her brain picking up on the integer and running with it. "But if it were purposefully constructed by some nefarious secret society, I'm pretty sure it'd be some other Illuminati. I'm not all that knowledgeable about the corporate culture, but from what I've seen, they're not a big fan of the number 3. Maybe there's a Catholic conspiracy out there where the Pope's setting up these kinds of celestial focuses to bring doomsday or something. Or it actually is the free masons."

It was easier on her psyche to think about fictional (at least it better be) conspiracies involving Clerical Superweapons than it did to worry about the reality of Juno or the horrid alternate reality where zombies were real. However, for some reason, the idea of the Vatican being in control of a WMD like a superlaser powered by Christ's divinity didn't sit right with her. At once it was absurd, but felt all too possible. And she couldn't help but get a bizarre sense of deja vu that she quickly shook off.

"Definitely going to say no to Burger King. I'd rather go without if it comes down to that or nothing." She'd rather eat food that didn't taste of lighter fluid and poor health standards. As for the other options, Mali ran a quick, if inaccurate assessment of their general macronutrient profiles. Panera would be a bunch of carbs. Considering she had been and would continue sitting all day, she didn't really need the short-term energy. White Castle would be a similar boat, but with a sliver of meat to go with their tiny sandwiches. Which surprisingly left McDonald's the last man standing.

"I'm actually thinking McDonalds if it's not too busy. But if you'd rather hit up Panera, I could live with that." Mali decided against going on about all the nutritional reasoning behind her choice and would just let Zoie come to her own conclusion as to why she made the suggestion she did. In the end it didn't matter too much where they went. This was supposed to be a get away of sorts, and it would only be a bad time if Mali was too difficult about choosing the most optimal places and dishes to eat at every meal. Nobody likes going out to eat with that one guy who's super picky about everything. She could undo any damage done or progress lost with a few weeks of hard work once (if) she managed to return to a steady routine. Right now it was best to just focus on striking a balance between not accruing more damage than necessary and being fun enough to hang around with for the next few days.
