"Ah, good, good." Gio put away his matchbook when Gil managed to get the oils alight and everyone decent visibility. That, along with the directions on the walls meant that they could possibly get armaments before anything else disastrous could happen. He had something of an internal sensible chuckle at the Biblical quotes but otherwise didn't make any further comments.

Not even on James' decision to turn into a boar and give Andromeda a literal piggyback ride. He probably should have mentioned something about not carelessly using one's paradox powers in this uncertain new paradigm they found themselves in. But really, out of anyone here, his would be the least likely to break reality, and even if it did, he couldn't see it breaking reality all that badly.

Other than that, there wasn't much that required direct addressing and all that they had to focus on was walking through these tunnels. Gilbert announced that they were halfway through a short way in, and with the two of them working together, it wasn't too much later before they had arrived beneath the armoury.

"And here we have arrived. Mr. Grady, if you would change back into human form before we make our way in proper. A boar is just too out of place to bring with us into settled, civilized space." Stealing from the military was a stealth mission, and as useful as some of his porcine abilities could be, the drawbacks simply outweighed the potential positives.

So the dice thing was glowing too, so it was 99.99% the cause of her hands glowing. And her tits were glowing too, which meant that it didn't just make whatever it touch glow. Unfortunately that still didn't answer any of the other questions she have or tell her really much of anything else. Now all she could do was assume that it, (and by extension Juno) the haze and the blood mists were all interconnected now. How? She had no fucking clue, and frankly now that she was connected by the fact that her hands were glowing only compounded on the anxiety of the last hour or so.

"I don't know!" Mali cried out, nearly in tears in response to Adelaide. It was all sop frustrating and bullshit. What had she deserve to be stuck in a situation like this, surrounded by supernatural horror movie bullshit that was just getting worse by the second? Mali grasped the little polyhedron as tightly as she could, knuckles showing white even through her darkened skin. Her teenage anger management counselling wasn't enough to keep back the intense frustration of the helplessness of it all, and at that moment the only way thing she had to direct it was the little relic in her hand.

Mali directed all her rage into the little bone carved curio, and threw it into the ground, yelling in distress as she did so. In the back of her head, the rational part of her brain hoped that removing contact from it would stop the glowing, but wasn't too hopeful about it. Even so, it also remembered that she promised to herself that she'd need to retrieve it anyways and this little fit wouldn't actually resolve anything. Still, it felt good to let herself be angry for once, and perhaps this would be enough for her to calm down and get some clarity on just what was going on.

"Before we all argue about who gets what weapons, we should focus on obtaining them first. There should be enough to go around. The trouble of the matter is actually acquiring them. We should prioritize the highest power ranged weapons you're comfortable wielding. Then explosives, followed by melee weapons. If we're lucky we might be able to procure some vehicles, although I'm not counting on fortune looking so kindly upon us." Regardless of how poorly close ranged encounters with Destruere tended to go, at the very least he would prefer if everyone had more of a fighting chance than simply being left with their bare fists. Even if the percent increase was from one percent to two percent, that would double the victim's chances of survival. And sometimes that extra percent made all the difference.

"If your lighter happens to have found itself short on fuel," Gio began when he saw Gilbert try to get it to light the oils, "or the striker has failed to work, I do have a pack of matches on me we could use as well." Gio fumbled around with the robes until he could reach into the pockets of his pants and procured the small painted box. Its design couldn't be quite seen through his fingers in the dim light, but a print of a nearly monochrome tiger adorned its face. He gave it a few shakes to confirm that there were indeed plenty of matches to be found within. If the older Emendator couldn't start the fire, perhaps the "middle child" would.

Calm down, calm down, calm down. Think. There has to be some reason for this shit, right? Nothing happens for no reason, what could have caused this? Racking her brain of anything that could help. Lots of historical accounts of clothes doing bad things to people. The infamous mad hatters, driven insane by mercury poisoning, women going up in flame because of their dresses, lead poisoning from the white pigments used in make-up. Was that happening to her? It occurred to her then that the connecting thread of all those problems, other than fashion was that they were all byproducts of post Industrial Revolution manufacturing and long since resolved by modern regulations. So she probably wasn't hallucinating because of mercurial poisoning. Probably.

What else glowed? Glowsticks? Glow in the dark t-shirts? She hadn't been fucking around with any chemicals that would cause a delayed reaction like that. And even if her hands were glow in the dark now, it wasn't nearly dark enough to elicit that reaction. Radiation? No, the whole glowing schtick was just a visual shorthand made by comic artists and cartoonists that never got disposed of; the same way a horse's trot didn't sound like two coconuts halves being hit against each other but everybody used it anyways. Right? Science was never her strongest suit. Could that little polyhedron doohickey be radioactive?

She didn't think so? It was carved from bone. Radioactive materials weren't organic. They were metal and shit. Right? Mali really wished she had paid better attention in Chemistry. Well, if her hands were glowing and it was because of the little Relic she'd been carrying around with her, then logically, the glow was transmitted by physical contact, and by far the place she had spent the most time touching it wouldn't be her hands. It was stuffed in her bra, so her chest must be like a lighthouse if her hypothesis was correct, in any event, it wouldn't hurt to inspect the thing an see if it looked any different now than the last time she'd seen it. After double checking that nobody was looking , Mali reached down into her shirt and fetched out the prime suspect for the glowing case.

Although one of Roger's specialties was rushing headfirst into situations that were out of his depth, perhaps this one was the most out there yet. Neo Angel had been wiped out in the few moments he hadn't been paying attention (not to mention he nearly got caught in a similar blast were it not for the impressive capabilities of his boosters). He was alone behind enemy lines, unable to directly help or receive assistance from any of Squad Sigma. On top of that, some of the Cruxi had focused their attention rightfully on him. His machine was passable in combat but didn't have the power of the big artillery bots or the fancy tactics of lighter machines like the Black Star. The worst part was that perhaps it would have been better if he were actually alone back here.

This new Framewerk. It didn't look right. It didn't sound right and it certainly didn't act right. That said, the pilot, whoever it was, had the correct attitude towards the opposing side, but that did little to quell his doubts towards this newcomer. A rogue berserker was just as likely to turn its blade on them after the Cruxi were dealt with as it was to leave them in peace. Not to mention that its performance didn't match the capabilities it should have. Yeager was designed around being able to accelerate to Ludicrous Speed, and this new machine seemed able to match, if not exceed that same level of thrust on top of wielding that sword and those cannons. Just where did this Framewerk come from?

Unfortunately he lacked the luxury of time necessary to even hold that question in his head for longer than a fraction of an instant, let alone try to come up with anything approximating an answer. He had a mission and this new werk amounted to little more than an extraneous detail at the moment. He'd keep an eye on it, otherwise it would be filed under the "Potential Obstacle" folder in his mental filing cabinet. The cruxi were still the topmost threat at hand, and the Turtles even moreso, having already inflicted a severe casualty on the Squad.

Rooney positioned himself to space D1: closer to the rear of the turtle, while simultaneously distancing himself from the rogue framewerk and the other squads of War Machines that would want a piece of him and his frame. He trained the scope of Yeager's machinegun at the turtle at the border of E2 and F2 and opened fire. He had a feeling that he might not have enough firepower to take it down directly like this, but he couldn't know until he tried. At the very least he could communicate any necessary change of plans to the rest of Squad Sigma over the comms.

"Yes Peter," Gio began in reply to the Paradox, "What we need it some light. So if you would set something ablaze, we'd be able to properly navigate the dark underground tunnels. I don't know if you found any lanterns, but if not..." The emendator looked around and found a short wooden length, probably once the handle of some tool, but now only useful as a short club or firewood. He handed it over to Peter. Of course, if they had a proper lighting apparatus like a lantern he could simply light it with one of the many matches he was carrying about with him, but for the purposes of makeshift lighting, he'd take the risk on the supernatural inextinguishable flames their cohort could produce.

"And once we get to the armoury, we commandeer some of their weapons. Preferably ones we can use, and in an ideal situation we'd all have a primary weapon such as a rifle, a sidearm such as a pistol, and some easily portable melee weapon along with enough ammo to split between all of us. However we'll need to play it by ear and take what we can manage." An obvious answer to an obvious question perhaps, but it was vital that they didn't waste time being confused because not everyone was on the same page.

"Now if we have no more immediate hurdles in our way, let us press on."

Mali's fears about the horror movie rules still being in effect were further reinforced by the crash outside. For all she knew, it could have been a simple accident caused by the fog and haze shit that just happened to have occurred right outside (nearly 70% of accidents occur within 10 miles of home), but coincidences didn't exist, and the mundane, rational explanation was the least likely reason for the noise. No, there was something sinister still at work, but the question was how to keep going about things.

Running straight into the danger to investigate would be the expected course of action for horror movie characters. But that's also how all the unimportant characters got killed off first and Mali certainly didn't have confidence that she would be considered important by any cosmic screenwriter setting this shit up. But on the other hand, running away immediately tended to make one easy pickings for the slasher villain until vital information is revealed about it. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

It was around now that Adelaide slammed the phone, only further reinforcing the horror film conventions they had the misfortune of stumbling into. Mali should have just listened to her gut and turned around when she saw the smoke and fog in the distance. But, there was no helping it now, they were all stuck in this situation now. Better to go do something and maybe live than to die doing nothing. Mali moved to push herself off the ground, but when she looked down she noticed her hands glowing.

For the second time in about 5 minutes she screamed, albeit, not nearly as loudly as when she saw the basement clown. In this case it was more out of surprise than explicit fear. There were only so many things she could handle at once. Real conspiracy theories? Sure. Ancient artifacts with hidden value coveted by said conspiracies? Why not. Silent Hill fog? Yeah. Weird haze shit? Maybe it's just allergies. Monster clown bitch? In the context of silent hill fog, barely yes. Magic bullshit on top of all this? Nah.

"Why are my hands glowing," she asked to nobody, expecting no answer in return.

Gio had hoped for details and ideas he had not thought of, and Sophia delivered. When they had more time to deliberate, he made a note to mull them over with The Hat. However, there were issues that he could not help but notice. "Unfortunately Ms. Harris, I believe establishing a new loop is out of my capabilities at the moment. I'm not sure how exactly to explain this to you, but I believe you were around for the advent of computers, yes? The situation I'm in now is like when a website updates but in doing so, breaks the functionalities of many of its core features. That said, I haven't attempted again so I cannot say with absolute certainty, but I'd put my confidence in my inability to create new timeloops in the new paradigm at ninety-eight per cent. I do appreciate your perspective, however."

It was about then that Peter and Gilbert came in, bearing robes, but no weapons. It was a boon, but a relatively minor one. With the chaos consuming the city, he doubted how much worth it carried to blend in to a degree, but every ounce of protection helped. Luckily, more than one scouting party was sent out, and Gilbert provided more promising opportunities.

"Good work, everyone." Giosue removed his suit jacket and grabbed one of lighter robes provided by Peter and James, quickly putting it on over the rest of his clothes. At least they would keep him a bit cooler than his very pitch suit. "We should make haste. I would hate to make it into the armory and find it already ransacked in the pandemonium." Gio had already imagined several different situations in which the actual arms in the armory would be inaccessible, but divulging them would not allow them to act in a timely manner, and that just would not do.
