Well, I'll say it. I'm not sure what happened. Did Guts somehow kill the dudes while inside the dimension and because of that was he was sent to another place?
Ah, basically, the guy who trapped Guts in the Sharingan dimension also uses it to teleport. X arrived, the guy was scared, and teleported away... bringing himself right into Guts' hands. With the only thing keeping the Sharingan dimension stable now separated from its head and body, Guts experienced a total universal collapse and was farted out in the middle of another universe.
I guess Megaman is going to be racing across the cosmos in an attempt to catch up with Guts and figure out just what the hell he's doing.
Shadow Eternity Commando Group A, Sacrificial Pit
When the ladder drew itself upward, Hampus panicked. His already-pathetic grip loosened by both fear and motion, Hampus fell. Landing on his head with a sickening crack, Hampus lay still on the sullied concrete floor. Meanwhile, back on the catwalk, Group A sprang into action, firing their rifles at the flock of monstrous birdmen and spreading evenly across the catwalk. Private Ameye and Sergeant David Leatherhoff were the first to tag one, explosive shots rippling across the beast's mighty wings. Its wings now ventilated, the beast plummeted to the ground in much the same way as Hampus did. Microcline and Pious, being less experienced in the sharpshooting field, opted to lay down suppressive fire. Their bullets mostly went wide, but one of Pious' shots managed to strike one of the Mesets in the chest. Shrieking in something roughly-approximate to pain, the monster swooped towards the group with significantly more bloodlust in its eyes. Leaping to the side, Pious just barely managed to avoid being dashed against the walls, as the Meset clambered to its feet.
Shadow Eternity Commando Group B, Office Complex
The stairwell was, predictably, abandoned. The faint roar of industrial fans deeper in the complex formed a soundscape for the group. "Keep your eyes peeled, boys," Jack Morgan announced, his steps measured and slow. The group passed the upward staircase with little fanfare, and peered into the paradoxically officelike area ahead. Drywall cubicles filled the vast room, blocking all view of any potential ambushes lying ahead. The only signs that this area still belonged to the labyrinthine facility it connected to were the thick concrete pillars pock-marking the room. This room couldn't be anything but a trap. The important question was when would it be sprung?
Last I checked, Guts was sucked into Tobi's Sharingan weirdspace. So... he's either being teleported to another world or is currently unreachable.
"Z-Zetsu!" he shouted. "MANGEKYO SHARINGAN: KAMUI." A shadowy energy spiraled forth from the orange mask, and consumed Guts. The Black Swordsman found himself in a new world, one pitch black with a floor made of white cubes. This wasn't good. It reminded him of a much tamer eclipse.
Just a reminder for selecting a rank: if your character was previously enlisted in their universe's military, you can feel free to add "formerly [rank]" in addition to your current one. You also don't need to select one of the ranks from the Wikipedia link I provided; other civilian occupations and non-standard police ranks are accepted.
Name: Theodore Griswold Nickname: "Ted"
Age: 45 Gender: Male Sexuality: Heterosexual Likes: Black coffee, football, properly-filed paperwork, devil's-food cake donuts, medium-well steak Dislikes: Diplomatic crises, omnicidal maniacs, ecological collapses Powers (not too powerful, please!): Unlimited patience. Skills and Expertise: Griswold is exceptionally skilled at maintaining the logistics of an organization as massive as Peacekeeper Branch G1. His charming personality and lack of power work wonders for all his diplomatic endeavors, simply because his comparatively-godlike opponents often underestimate him. Otherwise, Theodore is as physically-fit as a regular human deep into his 40s on a diet largely consisting of sugar and fats. Ranking: Police Commissioner of Branch G1's main base Backstory (at least a paragraph, explaining how it came to be that you joined the Peacekeepers): Born in the heart of a low-discrepancy Ideal Universe's New York, the Griswold family has always been populated with policemen. Theodore's father was a policeman, same as his grandfather and great-grandfather. Griswold was poised to join the NYPD himself, just before the Guardians made contact. After the routine first-contact jitters for most low-discrepancy Earths, Griswold decided to opt out of joining the NYPD in favor of joining the Peacekeepers. Though he had no special powers whatsoever, his dogged determination and genetic knack for policing earned him the respect of then-commissioner Mike Haggar. After a decade-and-a-half of continuous service, Griswold finally took the role of commissioner at Haggar's behest. Griswold has kept this position for ten years, a venerable amount of time for such a high-stress job. Personality: Griswold is gruff, knows no nonsense, and has been jaded through years of politicking and turmoil. Behind his crusty exterior is... and even crustier interior. Griswold will spare no breath to let one of his men understand just what they did wrong. As a critical, foul-mouthed, perpetually exhausted shell of a man, Theodore Griswold is not a man to be trifled with. Universe of Origin: An alternate universe Earth. The difference between this earth and most others is largely negligible, beyond a slight difference in how World War 2 ended. All hail God-Emperor Einstein!
Thanks, time to go on a scavenger hunt. Would I be allowed to put my guy in there with your guys?
Considering how your character is a UMMA soldier and currently on another ship entirely, I'd say it's a stretch. Like, "crossing Niagara Falls" stretch. You'd probably be able to join up with the UMMA strike team, assuming they have reason to call for help.
I leave for a day or so to try and let action grow somewhere and now there are posts everywhere. Could anyone tell me what exactly is going on with the strike team? Or anything else of note?
You need to follow three people: @VitaVitaAR,@Earnest Evans, and @Zero Hex. Basically, the strike team has done nothing except for introducing themselves.
Sorry about not posting, I'm pretty bad with impromptu-GM with nothing planned and I've been a tad busy. I'll get a post detailing what each group runs into today, so please be patient. Actually, I'd like to avoid GMing for a situation my character is in so, idk, I guess that bit's up for Earnest or Vita.
It might be quicker if you and I GM our own adventures for our group of soldiers, and when we regroup, one of us can take over as GM.
Personally, I'm fine if you post your sheet in the Characters section, and then we can tweak it if it isn't acceptable. Deadnaut, your character is accepted. I'm a little ashamed of myself, considering that you managed to post your sheet before I finished mine. Oh well, such is the curse of the terminally distracted!
