Jack Morgan checked the map, before sending the picture he took of it to everyone in the squad. A dull vibrating sound signified that the commandos had a new message, obviously one containing the map. Finally, Jack straightened up and addressed the squad. "Alright, crew. It looks like we're at a crossroads. Current location seems to be at... point 77. Ollanius, Hu, Microcline, and Hampus, I want you to head left and check out that large open area; you'll be Group A. As for Sindibad, Arby's, David, Rimanahson, and Clifford, you'll be with me heading to the right; we'll be Group B. Ready? Go!" Group A headed up the hallway, keeping an eye out for any potential dangers. When they reached the door, Hampus was the first into the threshold. Despite the protests of his groupmates, Hampus opened the door without a second thought. The room ahead was a largely barren arena of unpainted concrete and rebar. A ladder stretched up to the catwalk connecting to the door, with no other routes of access in sight. Hampus sighed, and began his descent just as the rest of the group moved in.

Microcline's mental faculties were gradually accelerating, thanks to the chilling temperature of the labs. With a rumbling groan, he politely cleared his throat. "Sir? The map's on the elevator." Jack Morgan turned and sheepishly grinned. Tensing up slightly, he moved to the holographic map on the elevator's floor. Taking a small smartphone from his left breast pocket, he snapped a picture of the map. "I want these emitters broken," Jack snapped, "If the You-Mays see this map, we're screwed." Nodding grimly, Microcline fired a round of shots into the elevator's holographic lens. With a whining crackle, the hologram map disappeared. Jack Morgan smiled. "Alright, let's get moving. First things first, let's make sure they don't do anything drastic. I'll send the elevator back up." Stepping over to the elevator's console, he signaled for it to go up. As the elevator's waist-high guardrails snapped closed, Jack vaulted over them just as the elevator began its ascent. Grinning widely, Jack motioned for the rest of the squad to keep moving.
<Snipped quote by Earnest Evans > We're cops! How can we not be focused on combat?
Unless they're living in Hollywood's version of Los Angeles, most cops spend their time waiting for stuff to happen and investigating claims. Think Hot Fuzz, not Demolition Man.
This sounds good. Could a character be a ranking military figure then? Ranking such as 1st Lieutenant or a Captain.
But of course! I'll have to add that to the character sheet.
Before I begin filling out, do you have any particular preference for pictures? Real, anime, CGI style etc etc?
Anything goes! To be honest, I'd prefer a picture that provides a good profile of the character, so that it'd be easier to visualize what they look like.
I like this reference. A lot. Bravo.
I aim to please.
Welcome to The Multiverse!
The Multiverse is wild and untamed. Universes defined by insane conflicts between warmongers prey upon universes defined by global harmony and bliss. The horrors of narrative causality cause once-logical worlds to spiral into madness working on its own rules. Beleaguered factions of exiles and corporatist entrepreneurs desperately attempt to eke out an existence in lands wholly foreign to them. At the center of this all, is you. The Multiverse is shaped like a great barred spiral. One bar consists of the Fantastic Universes, places where magic runs rampant and reality can be shaped as if it were clay. The other bar consists of the Grounded Universes, places where the laws of physics reign supreme and anomalies in these laws are few and far between. In the middle is a dense cluster of universes known as the Ideal Universes, where magic is possible yet causality has a strong grip. Civilized life is only possible near the Ideal Universes; settling anywhere else is tantamount to suicide.
The Guardians of the Multiverse
The single largest force working towards universal colonization are the Guardians, a benevolent federation of universes designed to protect and unite the multiverse, even at the cost of their own lives. There are many thousands of universes working with the Guardians, and each of them understands the gravity of the multiverse. Though it is unlikely that peace will ever come to the multiverse, the Guardians would sacrifice everything to make it possible. You are members of the Peacekeepers, designed to ensure the universes under the Guardians' watchful eye remain safe and secure. You will have to deal with both intra-universal conflict and vicious dangers working from within a universe's borders. Your job is hard and thankless, but it is vital for the inner workings of the Guardians. If the Peacekeepers were to fail, the Guardians and their universes would fall like a house of cards under a mighty gale. New universes routinely come into the fold of the Guardians, and as Peacekeepers you are expected to ease them into their position amongst the rest of the Guardians' charges. This will be a very challenging prospect indeed, but will almost certainly be rewarding. The Peacekeepers are not only unbeatable fighters, but they are fantastic diplomats! The Peacekeepers are headed by an enigmatic figure known only as "The Judge". The Judge rarely speaks, preferring to give orders through his many disciples. The upper echelons of the Peacekeepers take on a strangely theocratic bent. It seems the Peacekeepers hide a dark secret... The multiverse is a deep and terrifying place. Chaos and stagnation will run wild, if you slack off for even a moment. Will you be able to defend the few bastions of order within the multiverse, or will you fail and crush civilization's last hope for unification? The choice is yours.
Guardian Space Station Marduk
High up in the exosphere of a seldom-visited version of Earth lies the headquarters of Peacekeeper Branch G1. It is here that you've found employment, and it is here that you have discovered the existence of the Multiverse. Your job is monotonous, but rewarding. Things have been quiet recently, but it seems that change is on the wind...
Rules
  • Remember that you and your fellow players are working together. Rivalry and interdepartmental bickering are completely fine, but outright assault and murder of allied personnel is verboten.
  • This will be a very "Slice of Life" RP. Try not to make your character focused on combat, unless you're willing to RP them out to the fullest extent.
  • Since you're tackling the role of an interdimensional cop, you'll be expected to act like one. Think "Lawful", and you're perfectly fine!
  • For all the glory of the Guardians, they are not wholly moral people. You can make a morally grey character if you want. Just try not to make a mass-murdering psychopath!
  • Characters can be from any setting you want, so long as they would logically work as a figure of authority and so long as they're not egregiously overpowered.
  • Don't be afraid to list your concerns with the RP! With any luck, I can fix it!
Sample Character Sheet coming up!
@Savato, has @Moonman responded to you yet? He hasn't been on in a while and I really don't like the idea of someone taking over another player's character.
Neo-Umbrella Parking Lot, Siberia
Julius prepared the next step in his plan: The Fade-Out. He transmitted a message through to all nearby receivers: PA, two-way radio, listening device, all of them. Julius spoke with as grizzly a voice as possible, to enhance the effect of his words. "Atten-shun all Shadow Eternity personnel, the UMMA has entered the area! Begin Tactical Operation Fade-Out! We've already got what we need, let the Russians deal with their own problems! All units, rendezvous at Point L3 for debriefing and interrogation of Umbrella personnel! MOVE IT!" Squads Beta, Delta, and Eta immediately set into action. Moving as quickly as possible, they piled into the remaining three drop pods in the parking lot and on the roof, six to the parking lot pods and two to the roof pod. As soon as everyone was secure, Julius entered a sequence into his pod's console. With a terrible noise like a crowd of people saying "wop" in unison, all four pods warped away, leaving only imprints in the snow and the corpses of Privates Wilhelm and Howie.
Bottom of the Looking Glass Shaft, Neo-Umbrella Facility, Siberia
Deeper within the facility, Squads Alpha, Gamma, Zeta, and VIP finally reached the bottom of the elevator shaft. Lieutenant Jack Morgan breathed a sigh of relief as his guts caught up with him, and briefly mused about how long the elevator ride was. He was confident that merely getting down this shaft would be more than sufficient to give the commandos a head start in completing their missions. "Alright, team: we're on a tight deadline. Move like you mean it! Clifford, hand me that map of yours."
