Sorry...I literally have no experience dealing with anything cold-blooded. Most I've had is a turtle, but uh...Let's just say I ain't the best caretaker...It ran. The Turtle ran away.

The thing about turtles is that people always underestimate them. They can be quicker than you think.
Yeah, I was talking about a snake. The thing is, stuff like blankets wouldn't work for a snake, because it's not a blanket that makes us warm, it's us that makes a blanket warm. Our bodies heat the air trapped between us and the blanket, insulating us, but that doesn't work for something cold blooded. It might help hold in a bit of heat, but it won't be nearly as effective. I've had this snake for probably half my life at this point, but in that entire time, my power has not went out overnight once. Never actually had to deal with it before.
I'm growing more and more concerned over the weather forecast. The next few days is meant to be the worst ice storm this area has seen in decades, and power outages are possible. I'd like to not be in a position where Ssarak is needed for someone else to post, when and if that happens.

On a related note, does anyone have suggestion on how to keep a cold blooded creature alive without power?
Ssarak Dyreackthanose
Ssarak had been in his new room for a while, without interruption, and was using the chance to meditate and clear his mind. Just as the gargoyles had described, touching the rune in his room molded it, or at least half of it, to his desires, which were fairly simple. He now had a large bed which could accommodate his size, as well as an armor rack and weapon display. There was now a large floor mat that seemed to be made from the skin of a creature native to the Scorched Lands, much like the ones that were often used in his village growing up. Besides that, the largest, and perhaps most welcome change was the fact that his part of the room was significantly warmer than the rest of the college, closer to what he was used to in his own homeland.

Ssarak had placed his armor and weapons on the display racks and was now wearing a pair of tough leather pants, and a sleeveless vest of the same material. They were moderately worn by this point, as he had been using them since leaving the Scorched Lands, but they were made to be durable. For a while after preparing his room, he simply sat on his bed, closing his eyes and clearing his mind. There would be a lot he would need to worry about over the coming months, but for the moment, he needed not do anything but relax.

Once the door opened Ssarak opened his eyes and stood up from his bed. The human who entered seemed confused and fatigued, but he was at least trying to be polite, it seemed. The implications of what happened with Aruna before did not immediately click in his mind, so his first reaction was to return the greeting and shake the man’s hand.

“Greetings, I am Ssarak Dyreackthanose and…wait.” He began before remembering what Aruna had implied. He immediately pulled back his hand and a nervous expression came over his face. If being a roommate had such an intimate meaning to humans, then what did this man intend? Were humans incredibly forward and open with strangers? Did they even have the same concept of what a relationship was as the Esyire? Nothing made sense to Ssarak, and he was very obviously confused. “I…when I asked Aruna to be roommates, she grew angered, I mean, she said…or implied, or…” He started, his stammering becoming more and more incoherent.

Ssarak took a few steps back, nearly tripping over his bed. “Aruna said being roommates was intimate for humans, and I…I mean I don’t...I am not interested in a relationship.” He said awkwardly.
I'm writing a response and I'm wondering, would the rune that customizes rooms also be able to make part of a room significantly warmer?
Sharee nodded to the Bosmer man. "Right. I don't mind a good challenge every now and then, but I think it'd be best if we kept this quiet. If you have to talk about it, only mention attacking the Dominion. Funny enough, the Empire doesn't seem to mind too much if its citizens give trouble to a faction they will probably be at war with in a few years. Besides, we'll probably end up attacking Dominion targets at some point." She whispered.

Sharee looked over the Bosmer for a moment, though there wasn't much she could tell about him by appearances, other than that he really needed a tan. The Breton seemed onboard, so she just needed to deal with the newcomer at the moment. "Anyway, for the job, trade ships are our goal. I'm working on the crew, and as for the ship, we will go for a particular frigate in the harbor. A lot of its crew is on shore leave, so as long as we're quick, we should be able to get out with it. You'll get double the standard cut for the first job, and maybe a bit more if you're especially valuable. If you think you can handle it, then I'll tell you where we'll be meeting tonight for the first stages of planning. If you can't handle it, well, you probably wouldn't have been that useful anyways."
No, it's still just the Synod and College of Whispers. There would probably be smaller local organizations, especially farther from the imperial city.
Sharee grinned, glad to see that her first recruit was both eager, and seemingly had experience. Every single recruit for this job didn’t need to be a sailor; as long as she had enough good people, they could teach the rest how to function on a ship. It would probably take a lot of discipline to whip them into shape, but Sharee was very familiar with harsh training regimens. “Good, I need people with sailing experience. I don’t expect everyone I hire to be an expert, so expect to train some of the crew. As far as the plan goes, I already have some things in mind. I just need to finish recruiting so I know what I’ll be working with. If you’re half as good at fighting as I am, then you’ll be just fine. If you’ll just go over your skills with me, I’ll know where I can use you.” Sharee explained, her arrogance shining through her serious demeanor.

As the pair was talking, another individual, a pale-looking Bosmer, approached their table. Sharee glanced around to where he came from and saw Kilith sitting at a table in the corner. They made eye contact, then Kilith pointed to the Bosmer and nodded. It seemed as if he had already started on his part of the deal. Sharee turned her attention to the Bosmer and motioned for the last free seat at the table. “I take it Kilith sent you to me about the job, right? What did he tell you about it?” She asked.
Nytefall's post reminded me of something. The distances and sizes of things in game is not necessarily what we are using for RP. If Tamriel was taken to be literally 1 for 1 with the game worlds, then the entire continent would be smaller than the island of Manhattan (Except Daggerfall, because that game is an outlier). For a trip from the Imprerial City to Leyawiin, I'm guessing it would take several weeks by carriage. Don't worry about the time in this case though, we'll just assume the events in your posts took place a bit earlier.
Kilith glanced over his shoulder and looked across the room at Sharee at another table. She did seem busy with another potential recruit at the moment, though if it was another recruit approaching her, he doubted she would mind being disturbed. He turned back and refocused his attention on the Bosmer. “Yeah, she is quite the drinker, quite fun at parties. I doubt you would have to try as hard with her as you are with the barmaid, if you were so inclined. On the other hand, she can have a real temper if you catch her in the wrong mood. Just…be careful not to cross her. She’s over at that other table talking to that Breton, another potential recruit I’m guessing.”

Sharee leaned back in her seat, crossing her arms and waiting for the Breton to finish answering the question. “Well, as long as you’re not strict on staying on the ‘right’ side of the law, I got something that will be very profitable. I don’t know if you’ve ever sailed before, but I’m sure you can imagine the value of what something like an Aldmeri trading vessel might carry, right? You would be part of the crew that attacks said vessel, and for the first job, you would get double the normal cut.” Sharee said before leaning in closer. She fully intended to attack Imperial vessels as well as Aldmeri ones, but she found that Imperial guards and other Imperial. officials cared little if they overheard her planning attacks on Dominion properties.

“Now, the catch is I don’t have the vessel yet, but you remember the view from shore last night of the harbor? I’m also sure you can imagine how I might want to rectify that issue.” She whispered.
