Ma'tanza shook her head. "Not really often, no. Ma'tanza doesn't have many people who she doesn't like, or who don't like her. The clan takes in all kinds of people, so there are some, of course, but this one prefers just to get along. Besides, she decided a long time ago not to be offended by it. This one is happy with who she is, even if it is inconvenient for her most of the time."

After a brief pause, Ma'tanza started to laugh as another thought came to mind. "And insults aren't as annoying as the boys who have always tried to...ah what is the word, 'court' her. It is hilarious how awkward some of them can be. Then there are the ones who try acting so confident that Ma'tanza is almost embarrassed for them. It is even funnier when they try talking to Ma'tanza's friends and expect that they won't tell her what they were talking about."

Looking ahead, Meesei could see in the distance the location where they intended to stop the boat. She intended to speak to the family one last time before reaching the city to make sure they were all clear on the story that the family would tell to others, but to do that, she would need either Tzirret or Ma'tanza to translate. For the moment, however, she decided to allow them to continue their conversation.
Ma'tanza seemed to look more closely at Tzirret's fur through his explanation, though she had no particular reason for it. She knew of his anxiety by this point, even though she had never seen him acting as badly as he apparently had in the past. Regardless, she did not see the name as being funny exactly, but she also did not think it was too bad. "That makes sense, Ma'tanza supposes. Your fur does look like a cloud."

When Tzirret asked about her own nicknames, however, she looked to the side and rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly. "Oh, well, um...this one's friends haven't really given her nicknames before...except Bheja. Some people gave her nicknames that weren't too kind, and that she wasn't really supposed to know about. Nicknames about her...appearance. Some names relating to...large fruit. But none of Ma'tanza's friends have ever really called her that...except Bheja."

Meesei was sitting at the back of the boat, and had little else to do during the trip but to listen to what the others were saying. She did not speak up herself, though she did give a light, brief chuckle.
I have something of a post written, but it's not too much, as I can't think of much to do in the current situation for the rescuers. I can post it, but I need to figure out how long it would take to walk to the docks.
"Yes, um, hello." Ma'tanza said simply, and with just a hint of anxiety. She gave a quick glance towards Meesei at the back of the boat. While she did have more to say, and even a somewhat topical joke, she feared taking risks at the moment. She did not know what would happen to her if she caused trouble, but she was sure she needed to be on her best behavior. If nothing else, she did not want to embarrass herself in front of the Champion. As such, she said nothing about Uthri's comment, at least not at first.

There was enough of a pause that Ma'tanza started to feel strange about the silence. She tended to perceive any innocuous movement or gesture from Meesei as some kind of signal of judgment. She wanted to trust Tzirret's assurances about Meesei, but the silence was simply leaving her mind with too much time to wander. Sitting on the boat with her in silence for an hour would be simply unbearable, so she had to find some way to fill the void.

"So...why does she call you cloudy-cat?" Ma'tanza asked Tzirret.
I made a short post, at least. I think I'm too tired to do any more right now.
Meesei climbed down first, then stayed at the base of the rope in the boat to help down the family behind her, particularly F'sresa. Ma'tanza was near the rear of the line with Tzirret as they waited for everyone in front of them to board. She did not necessarily appear afraid to be around Meesei, but she had a heightened awareness of what she was doing. Her anxiety, it seemed, had transitioned from being nervous of just being around the Champion, to being nervous of making some kind of mistake around her.

"Um, right. Of course. Ma'tanza will be fine. You are...sure that it is alright for Ma'tanza to be here, right?" She asked, just as it was their turn to climb down the ladder. They were the last to find their seats on the boat, which was crowded, but could at least accommodate them all. The trip to Leyawiin would take roughly an hour from where they currently were. Most of that time would be spent aboard the boat, which they would hide just outside the city before walking to the gates.
I do believe that the area around Leyawiin is a rather hot, swampy area, actually. At any rate, I should be able to get another post, perhaps.
Alright. Though, I do not know for how long I'll be able to post tonight. It has been a long day, and I'm pretty tired.
Qa'habi crossed his arms. He was not precisely hostile, but Tzirret's words had not calmed him a great deal. He stared ahead in thought, though his expression gave no clues as to what those thoughts might be. "It is a very private matter, and not something Qa'habi wants to talk about. With anyone. This one will talk about bows all you want, but he has a feeling that you were never interested at all. We should...just get back to the others. Qa'habi will not mention this to the others if you do not."

As expected, the ships arrived near Leyawiin the next day. It was in the afternoon, but they still had a few hours before nightfall. Colors guided the ships into a small inlet that would help to hide them, though even so, he made sure to say that it would be best not to stay for too long. Nothing he could do would keep them from detection forever. Meesei and Gallus were on the top deck, waiting for the family and the few others that were joining. Meesei had not been keen on doing anything that might extend their stay in the city, but she had eventually agreed to take only as many as could fit in a single rowboat, on the condition that they stay together and not attempt to extend their stay. She did not normally like to be so restrictive, but it was important that they finish their business in the city quickly.
Well, we should probably start moving along in the story, so that could be summarized. It would take some convincing, but Meesei could be persuaded to allow only a few to join her.
