Eri 'Moram - Aboard the Phantom

"Hmph, if he kills himself, then he'll get what he deserves." Eri remarked before looking down and snarling at Jarraj. "As long as he only kills himself."

Eri was quick to return her attention to more important matters. "Our phantom should be cloaked by now, so we should have no resistance returning, no matter how many ships they might have out there."

Falul 'Taham - The Immaculate Aegis

Falul received the Daedalus' request, though before he had even received a word at all, he could see their ship on approach, presumably for support. Falul was, if nothing else, militarily adaptable, and more than willing to coordinate with these Humans.

As quickly as he could, Falul plotted out a flight path on his datapad which would bring the Daedalus close to the Aegis while still allowing them to remain evasive against their pursuers. He then had it sent to the Daedalus using the same data format as they had received from the Resurgence, since they were far more likely to be able to understand it than any format native to the Aegis.

"I am sending you a flight path, Shipmaster Caldwell. Follow it, and we will be able to target your pursuers more accurately." Falul recommended. It was, of course, more difficult to hit a fast-moving target than a stationary one, but if the Daedalus was moving along a pre-determined path, then their point-defense lasers would be able to charge and target ahead of time against the Imperial ships, allowing them to fire even more accurately and destroy them more quickly. Additionally, a wing of Seraphs fell in behind the Daedalus' pursuers, putting further pressure on them.
Ahnasha ended up following Fendros' lead and looking up to the stars along with him. After the long day of work they had both been through, she did feel it nice to be able to relax. She leaned herself up against him, putting one arm around his back and resting her head on his shoulder. "I do usually try not to dwell to much on what could have been." Ahnasha remarked.

"Hmm, but maybe it wasn't an accident?" Ahnasha reasoned. "Hircine knew he was selecting a champion for war. Someone like Vykosa, I have no doubt she is a strong warrior, and a powerful mage from what I've heard some of the spirits here say. But, I doubt she would have been able to do what Meesei has done. Make allies, bring clans together. Maybe that's why Hircine sent us after the Ring? Hircine is just lucky that someone with her values and potential existed at all. Of course, I could have done it too, obviously."
Taylor started to let out an echoing laugh as it moved up closer to the right wall of its cell. "Lorne cannot break the law if Lorne is the law." It remarked. "You are here for the terrible crime of...existence. Like me."

While Taylor, so far, had more conscious time to think about why they might be kept together than the other prisoner, it still had no answers. Any guesses it could make would likely be meaningless. "I came here on my own for...hope. For help. For a cure. I was already here, actually. Near the tower when it exploded. I went to them when I was still Human, but there is no help here. No cure. Their tests, their experiments do not care for our pain or suffering. You are something new, though. They have never brought any of their other victims to share my room before. If they test you as they have tested me, then you may not survive, but I would still know your name. I can be called...Taylor."

Despite the expectations and reactions of several of the others, the explosion quite a bit smaller than they seemed to be expecting. Or at least, the fact that it was a shaped breaching charge meant that the backblast into the room was minimal. So, it was quickly obvious that the bounty hunter's reaction to tackle the three of them was entirely unnecessary. Eri lifted up her head and snarled squarely at the mercenary, though honestly, she was more surprised at the fact that the mercenary had been able to tackle her at all. That suit must have done something to enhance her strength.

Regardless, there was the more pressing concern of dealing with this Imperial admiral, though as she stood back up to her feet, she was surprised to find that there was still an atmosphere around them. Again, some of the Humans from one of the other ships were creating this strange bubble of energy around them, but instead of blocking incoming weapons fire, it was holding in their air. Some of the technology these Humans were using seemed strangely advanced compared to their projectile weapons.

Thanks to the bubble of air, there was much less concern for the admiral's safety during the short jump to the phantom. Eri lifted and dragged him around effortlessly by his throat up to the breach, then pushed herself off from one of the edges of the breach carefully enough to send her at a calm pace towards the gravity lift. Although, while Eri did push the admiral into the lift ahead of her, she used the small anti-gravity thrusters on her armor to stop herself just alongside the gravity lift. Being that her armor was sealed, it did not matter if she was exposed to the vacuum, so she could wait and make sure that all of her team, and those from the other ships, made it into the phantom first. Eri herself was the last to enter the lift, which closed up underneath her as soon as she was in the phantom's passenger hold.

Eri took a moment to look around the phantom. The dropship could be quite cramped when at full capacity, though there was still space for more beyond what they had. She made sure there were no injuries, and that their prisoner was being restrained. Only then did she allow herself to stand over Jarraj, growling down at him. "Jarraj, I have told you before..."

"What? I do nothing wrong!" The Unggoy answered back incredulously. "You say make timer longer, I make timer longer. I make it ten seconds. That's TWICE as long as last time!"
If I might make a suggestion, @DisturbedSpec , this seems perfect: https://halofanon.fandom.com/wiki/Vindication-class_light_battleship

It is classed as a fast battleship, and would really fit that role well. It focuses on weapons and armor, and could maneuver around the battlefield much more quickly than our larger ships. Any deficiencies in defense or weapons (when comparing universes), could be upgraded IC.

Perhaps a battleship of some sort? Something with a focus on heavy defense and firepower instead of being a carrier? Is that what you're looking for?

Though, in context, most UNSC ships would probably need some defensive upgrades to fulfill that role. That is something that can be done IC, though.
For Taylor, this was new. Unexpected. It was used to the scientists, nurses, and occasionally a Lorne executive coming down to check on their experiments. It was only ever people of the company that came near it. Until now. This voice was new, and he did not sound like the rest. He was emotional and angry, unlike the seemingly detached scientists. More than that, Taylor could hear the voice, muffled as it was, through the right wall of its cage, instead of the door. Was this one of the others that Marian had spoken of? One of the other test subjects of Lorne? Taylor had always been alone in its room, as there were no other cells nearby. If this was a new prisoner, then why had they finally brought a new cell into its room after months of solitude? What was different about this one?

Taylor did not undertand what was going on or why it was happening, but after hearing some shouting through the cell, it was bathed in flames from the same direction. It eagerly consumed the heat and energy of the fire, but as always, it was suspicious of what was to come. What test were they performing, and how did it relate to this new prisoner?

It was a fairly short time before Taylor heard the man's voice again through the cell wall. Taylor looked out through its door and did not see any scientists outside the cell at this point, though it knew it did not have sight on the entire room. They could always be waiting nearby. Regardless, Taylor tried to look out to the right from the door to see if it could get a line of sight onto this new prisoner, but it had no such luck. It seemed the prisoner was in a cell directly adjacent to Taylor's, so they would not be able to see one another.

"You are...new. Are you new to this room? To my room? Or are you new to this prison?" Taylor asked.

Eri 'Moram - Bridge of the Imperial Venator

At almost the very instant that Jerus finished his sentence, an excited voice sounded out behind him. "Oh, me, me! I do! I DO!"

The Unggoy with the fuel rod gun on his back eagerly ran forward, pushing his way around the legs of the other Sangheili in his team to reach the middle of the room with Eri, Jerus, and Samus. With a simple nod from Eri, the Unggoy practically ran down the bridge's center walkway, and up to the window closest to the phantom. He pulled a fairly small device, about the size of one of the fuel rods his weapon used for ammunition, and attached it to the window. After a few button presses on the holographic controls, he just as excitedly ran back to the others.

Hearing the tone of the charge's timer, Eri gave a quick snarl as she looked down at the Unggoy. "Jarraj, what timer did you set on that charge?"

"Oh, ummm, ten seconds!" He answered.

After going through the fight to take the lift to begin with, the ambush at the top did not feel as difficult. Even though the Imperials had superior positions for cover, they also seemed to have quite a few options to defend themselves. The Human from the Resurgence, by some means, could deflect incoming fire with his version of an energy sword, Eri had her hardlight shield, and the majority of her team had personal energy shielding. As well, the other Humans from the other ship had individuals that could put up strange violet energy barriers to protect them. Altogether, they had the capacity to push forward far more aggressively than any defense could have planned for.

Pushing into the bridge itself, they had been expecting even more of a fight, but found only a sea of corpses. Save for two. Eri recognized this one, however briefly, from the fighting near the hanger. This was the bounty hunter, who had apparently dealt with the entire bridge crew and captured the admiral.

Lowering her hardlight shield, Eri stepped out towards the bounty hunter and grunted as she glanced over the bodies. "Hmph, and here I thought you had ran away." She remarked. Frankly, though, part of her wondered how a single mercenary could have handled all of these foes alone. That would be a challenge even to Vael...

Regardless, there was no time for pointless discussion or speculation. The bounty hunter had asked how they intended to escape, and Eri was quick to answer. Quickly, she contacted her phantom. "Move to the front of the bridge, disengage active camouflage, and open the gravity lift. Hold at a safe distance until the breach is opened."

Now standing over the admiral alongside Samus, Eri looked towards the window at the end of the walkway. "We can blast a hole in that window and make the jump to the gravity lift of our phantom. It is the column of energy you see beneath the dropship; it will pull you up into the phantom. Assuming that suit of yours is sealed, we are all equipped for a vacuum. Except for him..." Eri explained, turning her gaze down towards the admiral and giving a low growl. "Hmm, but he'll live. Just make sure he does not try to hold his breath before he is exposed to the vacuum."
After Vera had decided upon a location for their camp, it had been a pretty much constant stream of laborers, soldiers, and supplies marching through the portal: a trend that would likely continue up to the point that the second portal was complete. The camp would essentially be built upon and expanded just ahead of every wave of soldiers that was coming to occupy it. Laborers would be working constantly in shifts on every part of their expanding forward base, so the work itself would never stop. Fortunately for Meesei's pack, though, that was not their responsibility to manage. They did have their duties, of course, but their role for the invasion was going to be on the front line, so they were not being assigned to exhaust themselves ahead of time. Meesei and Fendros, given their leadership roles, tended to have the most to do.

For Ahnasha, at least, she did take on some responsibilities, mostly involving the construction of their great gate. All of the enchanting work had already been done, but they still did need experienced conjurers to make sure the parts were assembled correctly. Though, for the moment, they had not even moved all of the pieces into place. There would be more for her to do the next morning. For now, she was glad to take some time to rest.

Ahnasha gladly took the waterskin, and a quick drink from it the moment she had it in her hand. "No problems yet. Well...no problems at the site of the great gate. I haven't been around the camp much, so I honestly have no clue what they've been doing. Imperials, Thalmor, and lycans are all congregating in the same place, but no one is dead and nothing is on fire. So, I think you and Meesei have been doing a fine job. And Vera. By Hircine, I do not envy Vera, having to manage all of this..."
