@EllionI would say it's rare, very very very rare. People can learn to perform magic, but just to appear in the line would be extremely rare.

I'm kinda sorta thinking about making my little male witch. And I kinda just want him to think that he was just a freak because he is from an a totally non-magically family and they had no idea what was going on/how to deal with it.

Just sorta curious how it might work

Would it make more sense for him to have been abandoned by a witch mother and adopted by a nonmagical family?

Fortunately for me I've got job opportunities lined up. Unfortunately I'll be working until I'm impossibly old to pay off the loans. Unless I crack primes, then I'll own everything. Muwahahahaha! *ahem* sorry.

I am supporting you through the cracking of primes. Be sure to remember me when you are wealthy. But being a grown up is scary. Last year I was "Roth IRA? I'll never own a house....Insurance?????"
